...The Bionaire BAP 615 is an excellent air purifier. After having it on for just a few minutes when I bought it, the air was noticeabley cleaner and cooler. The Bionaire BAP615 works with a 2 stage filtreation system. Air enters the purifier through the grills in the front, where dust and other large particles are immediately caught by the carbon filter. Air then passes through to the HEPA filter where 99.9% of bacteria, dust and other airborne alergens are filtered. One thing that I did find is that the Carbon filter (costing about £6) needs changing regularly, about once every month, even though the manual and product description both say it only needs changing on an average of 3 months. The HEPA filter can last anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on how much the purifier is used. I have not had the filter for more than 6... Read review

...My Experience… Well living in a 1930's council house with no other heating system and single glazing the Bionaire BOH1000 has been a life saver, and quite literally could be for the frail or elderly. In the past this product has been quick to heat up and cheap to run. You can leave the heater in a room, so you're not tied down worrying about whether it'll catch fire like you would be with dangerous antiquated electric blankets and fan heaters. Simply switch it on, and leave it, there is an intricate system of safety cut-offs on this product, in my opinion, making it one of the safest things in the house! ...I've used Bionaire air purifiers for a few years and think they are great. This is one of the larger models size-wise because it covers a larger area (approx. 84m2), which personally i needed. This makes it dearer to buy of course, but i did not hesitate to spend the money on what i class as an essential. You can buy smaller and cheaper models if you do not need to cover so much space. It has 3 speeds and is much quieter than the older models, even on full speed. The remote control is a bonus for me, as is the ioniser button. One reason i chose this model is because it has permanant, cleanable Hepa filters, so no extra cost after the initial purchase. The other filters are washable. It doesn't use much energy to run (can't recall exact wattage but it's under 90W when on full power). As a smoker i would not be without one!... Read review

I've been asthmatic since childhood, but I'm afraid I bought the purifier to reduce the harmful effects on my home and family caused by my secret shame. Bionaire are a Canadian company, started up in 1977, who now trade worldwide. Their products are widely available in Argos, Comet and other electrical retailers. The machine resembles a chunky fan heater, housed in cream coloured plastic. It has rubber feet on two sides so that it can be sat lengthways or upright, dependant on your available space. ...The story is amazing, it is about Mitch McDeere, a young lawyer who has just graduated from law college and is looking for a job so that he can pay off his student loans. He has offers from tp firms all over the company, he picks the highest paid which happens to be a small, quaint firm in Memphis. He joins, gets a brand new BWM and a lovely house with a mortgage which has virtually no interest. The week he joins, two fellow lawyers die in an "accident" he then continues to find out a horrible secret. The FBI contacts him, tell him he has no choic but to co-operate with them then the remainder of the story tells of his colusion with Wayne Tarrance (FBI) and his tough life coping with this terrible news. ...I have recently spent months renovating and decorating my house. As a smoker the ceilings and walls suffer over the years and not wishing to repeat the redecorating process more than necessary I have invested in the Bionaire BAP1500 PERMAtech. The unit is quite large at 27" high x 10"x 6" but it is suitable for areas up to 84m2. It's quite stylishly finished in black with silver trim. The 'Permatech' model is so called because it has permanent filters which can be washed or vacuumed when the filter indicator light on the top of the unit comes on. It is a pain replacing bags and filters (if they are available at all) so I've decided to avoid anything that needs replacements if possible.
