Birkenstocks Excellent quality and comfort - well worth the price

Advantages: Durable, comfortable, reasonably priced, always in fashion
Disadvantages: Cork sole tends to break with lots of use

...I am a big fan of birkenstocks, my fiancee and I both wear them all the time. Between us, we've had the Roma, Ramses, Boston, Boston Microfibre and I am sure a few other pairs. They are rediculously comfortable when you get used to them. I will admit, when you first put them on they can be a bit stiff and even uncomfortable. It take a few weeks until the cork sole starts taking shape of your foot but after you get through that, than you won't be able to take them off. They are especially good for long walks. The craftsmanship of the birkenstock goes back something like 250 years and this is evident through the firm support that they offer. Walking back to Happiness

Advantages: Feather light

...I struggle to find well fitting, comfortable shoes ever since my hubby stood on my little toe when I was wearing flip flops a couple of years ago. Now the said toe sits at a jaunty angle, quite at odds with the rest of my digits. Davos has everything for young and old!

Advantages: Too many to mention! Davos is aimed at the tourist, yet has a homely feeling about the place. It offers everything you can wish for.
Disadvantages: When it rains, it rains! Remember to bring your plastic mac.

...I've been to Davos on three separate occasions, all lasting three weeks. The first time I went I was just 14. The last time I visited Davos was this summer (2000) at the age of 19. Davos offers so many things to the tourists. Fantastic transport services, free use of transport within the area for all tourists, and they always run on time. There is a huge sports centre, which includes an ice rink which is also open during the summer. There are many tennis courts, a golf course and many other sports facilities available. I love my birkies!

Advantages: these are the most comfortable sandals you will ever wear!
Disadvantages: Due to the high demand you have to queue up at their outlets or bid on ebay

...I purchased my first pair of purple (madrid style) birkenstock sandals in May after a recommendation from another birkenstock owner! I wore them on numerous shopping trips and also out on those bright summer evenings which seem to have disappeared recently! After wearing them as an alternative to trainers (my old favourite style of footwear!) and also on nights out as an alternative to painful high heels my partner actually ended up buying me another pair in black so I could wear them to work with my black suit! Not only for Gates and Clinton

...Davos may be best known for the trade conference with Bill Gates, Clinton, etc. But it is also one of my favourite snowboarding resorts in Switzerland. So much so, that I have been there about 15 times. The slopes are suitable for everyone from beginner to very advanced. There is usually good opportunity for powder snow, just off the pisted slopes. If you want, you can ski all the way down to Klosters and then catch a free bus or train back. Good, reasonably priced restaurants on the slopes. Good nightlife and restaurants in town, although some can be rather expensive. Just make sure you don't miss the last gondola back from the bottom of the long red run... it's a long way back to Davos if you do!...

A Summer to Remember

Advantages: Beautiful scenery; great pubs; delicious food; mountains; like-minded souls.

Who's Got the Craic? The Moldy Peaches i'd say...

Advantages: Charming, hilarious, touching, heartfelt and passionate
Disadvantages: Always leaves me wanting more!

...the meaning in tracks like "These Burgers" (about child psychiatry), and "D.2. Boyfriend" (which should be an album of empowerment for loners and outsiders everywhere). It's not all ballads and happiness set to acoustic guitars however, The Moldy Peaches also know how to rock, and do so with skill. "NYC's Like a Graveyard" harks back to the Ramones hey-day (or should that be hey-ho-day?!), all buzzsaw guiitar work and choppy drums. Similarily "Downloading Porn with Davo" has a tempo that would get most OI! fans pogoing, but doesn't lose that undeniable, unique tongue in cheek charm of the band. Probably the bands "biggest" hit "Who's got the crack?" features half way through this album is a campsite favourite, bellowed at the tops of voices at 3a.m, beer in hand and acoustic guitar in the background.
