Birkenstocks Excellent quality and comfort - well worth the price

Advantages: Durable, comfortable, reasonably priced, always in fashion
Disadvantages: Cork sole tends to break with lots of use

...I am a big fan of birkenstocks, my fiancee and I both wear them all the time. Between us, we've had the Roma, Ramses, Boston, Boston Microfibre and I am sure a few other pairs. They are rediculously comfortable when you get used to them. I will admit, when you first put them on they can be a bit stiff and even uncomfortable. It take a few weeks until the cork sole starts taking shape of your foot but after you get through that, than you won't be able to take them off. They are especially good for long walks. The craftsmanship of the birkenstock goes back something like 250 years and this is evident through the firm support that they offer. They have a deep heel cup and contoured footbed in all their styles that gives arch support so that your weight is distributed evenly. They come in several different fabrics such as leather...

Piazza Cavour

Advantages: Cinema, Church, local shopping an cafes.
Disadvantages: Not too much for tourists.

.... Piazza Cavour is a square in Rome, which is mostly residential and partially commercial. There are no real tourist attractions on Pizza Cavour, but it's possible that you might visit it for the annual book fair or pass through if you're doing a lot of walking in Rome. It's a useful route from the Vatican to the north eastern side of the city (Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps, Via del Corso etc). Where is it? It's located just off Via Crescenzo, which is a main street running from close to the Vatican Museum (Sistine Chapel) to Piazza Cavour. It's also just north of Via Triboniano which is the closest road running north from the bridge directly south of Piazza Cavour. Piazza del Popolo - A Brief Review

Advantages: Near to other attractions, great places to get lunch and coffee
Disadvantages: Out of the way a bit.

...I struggle to find well fitting, comfortable shoes ever since my hubby stood on my little toe when I was wearing flip flops a couple of years ago. Now the said toe sits at a jaunty angle, quite at odds with the rest of my digits. Judging by the pain I felt at the time and for weeks afterwards I have concluded that he broke it and it's reset itself. He does swear it was an accident to this day but I have my doubts. ...I m basing my review of La Piazza on my experience a few months ago. For those of you who are not too familiar with Edinburgh,this restaurant is in Shandwick Place,West end. It is ideally situated near many offices and the Financial district of Edinburgh. There are many Italian restaurants in Edinburgh-especially in the City Centre. I went here with a friend as she works nearby to it and was recommended it by colleagues. I had previously been to the restaurant about 5 years ago for a friend's birthday night outbut of course things have changed. The interior is a lot better and it hads been extensively refurbished. One major flaw about this restaurant is that even though they open all day from 12 until late,they do NOT offer a lunch menu -which is very annoying and disappointing. I love my birkies!

Advantages: these are the most comfortable sandals you will ever wear!
Disadvantages: Due to the high demand you have to queue up at their outlets or bid on ebay

...I purchased my first pair of purple (madrid style) birkenstock sandals in May after a recommendation from another birkenstock owner! I wore them on numerous shopping trips and also out on those bright summer evenings which seem to have disappeared recently! After wearing them as an alternative to trainers (my old favourite style of footwear!) and also on nights out as an alternative to painful high heels my partner actually ended up buying me another pair in black so I could wear them to work with my black suit! During th Christmas holidays it gets decked out and decorated with lights and its outlines are surrounded by stalls selling Christmas goods. It is lovely to go there and choose a variety of hand-crafted pieces for the Crib, or Christmas Tree decorations. On the morning of 6th January (the feast of the Epiphany) legend says that an old lady, dressed in rags and flying a broom, called La Befana, brings sweets and candies to children who were good during the past year, and coal to children who behaved mischievously. Children leave their sock out to be filled with goodies on the eve of January 6th. In Piazza Navona Christmas Market it is possible to buy lumps of 'charcoal' made of sugar to put in the children's sock to hide all the sweets and goodies below. I hope you will visit...
