...I have used my Bissell Proheat for around 2 years and use it around a large fully carpeted house every 3-4 months. I have used a Vax carpet cleaner in the past. On opening the box the handle need screwing but once in place doesn?t need to be unscrewed. The instructions are good, but take a while to read and can be understood by most people. If I have lent my machine to friends I usually show them how to use it rather than give them the instructions. Use Using a foot switch you release the handle down and can then remove the water bucket. You put water in the water pouch (which is labelled) in the water bucket and cleaning fluid in the Smartmix container. Once the machine is switched on, it is ready to go. I have four kids, each in their own right, messy, accidental spillages are a common occurance in my house. Althought I rate the bissel very highly as a carpet shampooer, it is'nt much use when there has been a slight accident. It is a very bulky machine to get out of the cupboard just to suck up a bit of juice. When it comes to cleaning the carpet thoroughly, say once a month, it absolutley lives up to its name. The one downfall with this machine is that its not very easy to clean after use, and if not cleaned out properly and left to dry out thoroughly, it will smell like stagnant water.
