Canon BJC 250

...The Canon BJC 250 bubble jet printer is a small lightweight printer suitable for printing simple documents for the home or office. When I bought this printer is was about £90 and has proved ideal for all my essays for school and college. The printer cartridges typically cost from about £17 to £25 depending on what cartridge you buy and the retailer. You can buy 4 different cartridges, dedicated black, colour, photo colour and fluorescent colours. The printer is small compared to others and I have it sitting on my mini tower computer and I still have space to put my pens ;-). In operation the printer is fairly quiet and does not rock the desk like others. The output quality of the printer isn't as good as more expensive printers like Hewlett Packard or Epson but it's still not too bad. The paper loading is rather poor though...

Review of Canon BJC 250

Very good little printer (BJC - 210, same as 240)

Advantages: Very small reliable printer
Disadvantages: not dual cartridge

...I have used the BJC-210 (the same as the 240, just an older model) for about 3 years and it has never once not worked or given me any hassle. I first bought the printer as i needed one fast for school, so i thought i would buy a cheap one, then upgrade at a later date. I have never needed to upgrade the printer. The only thing that is a set back about this printer is that it isnt Dual cartridge, so if you want a colour print, you have to put the colour cartridge in and take the black out. therefore if you have a colour page with black text, the black text will come out a very dark green. This is onlly noticeable though if you look very carefully and dosent worry me too much. The printer is small. It tores the paper upright, and there is no paper tray, so you don't have to have a huge desk to store it on! very good printer if...

Cannon BJC-4200

Advantages: Efficient
Disadvantages: out of date

...The Cannon BJC 4200 was a fairly good printer in its time. Now a days as newer models have been produced, it is falling well below standards. The quality of the print out is not particularly high quality and tends to be fairly slow. The ink cartridges need to be replaced regularly, which could be a problem if you have a large document to print out. However newer models from cannon are up to date and meet all modern specifications. I wouldn?t recommend this printer to you, instead go for a newer model....

BJC-4300

Advantages: quality, well built

...Have a BJC 4300 with the photo colour cartridge. It prints about 5 ppm black and about 3 ppm colour. The photo colour cartridge works incredible. prints as good as a poloroid on the glossy paper. the printer tends to be a bit hard on the ink though but not that bad. It does not leave blotches on the paper or bleed. I find it is an excellent value for my dollar and is very reliable. I never have paper jams or garbage come out of it. all options of the printer are controlled through windows in the printer icon from quality to type of paper, speeds, and anything else imaginable. i can use it for everything including envelopes and letterheads to resumes with a clear quick professional quiet print. the print tray holds up to 250 sheets and adjusts to the thickness of the paper automatically. a scanner cartridge is available for about £69...

BJC2000 - cheap and cheerful

Advantages: Price, size
Disadvantages: Not wonderful quality for pictures/drawings on normal paper

...high quality photo work. To be fair I used 'normal' paper; better paper may well have shown better results. The colour printing showed similar patterns of behaviour but overall it did a OK job of some pretty intense colour plots I drew. For users of linux - this machine IS compatible: you have to use the BJC-600 option in your Kernel/setup params. This was a particularly useful feature for me and compatibility with this system is not normally expected from 'cheap' printers. Overall if you want an average printer and have a tight budget I would consider this printer....

...I bought a Canon BJC-1000 printer when on a tight budget and was pleasantly surprised by its performance. The Canon BJC-1000 is a very good budget printer, offering a print quality which will be more than good enough for the average home user. It is easy to setup under Windows 98, simply a case of running the CD and I have never had a problem with paper jams or such like. One of its major weaknesses is however, its speed. Printing a large document or graphics can take for ever and if you use the high print quality setting it absolutely drinks ink. Therefore if you intend to use you printer alot then you would be well advised to steer clear from this offering but for light use it is a very good option.
