Who Wants To Be Screwing All Day.
Review of Black & Decker 9019K by tallguy

Advantages: Makes screwing easier
Disadvantages: None

...The Black and Decker Screwdriver this opinion is based on is the KC9072K Powerdriver. I first bought this cordless screwdriver, approximately four monthes ago, from Argos, it cost £19.99, and in my view it was money well spent. It's cordless and powered by a 2.4V battery, and spins at 130rpm. It can be wall mounted for easy storage, and it can be left on continuous charge so it's always ready to use. It also has a auto spindle so you can use it as a manual screwdriver. Best of all it's supplied in a carrying case, and you get 9 screwdriver bits. Mine also come with a 2 year manufactorers guarantee. Do you find screwing boring? Well this handy gadget makes screwing more fun, and best of all it's quick. Who wants to stand around screwing all day, when this gadget does the job in seconds. This gadget makes a tedious job easy, what... Read review

RSI...Not I
Review of Black & Decker 9019K by carpathian

Advantages: Neat, simple to use, durable.
Disadvantages: Disposal of old units

...I must have I love work tattooed on my forehead, my Father in law bought me a Black & Decker work mate as a wedding gift and ever since I seem to get some kind of tool as a present. All very useful and all put to work I may add, anyway one of the latest additions to my toys is the Black & Decker 9019K cordless screwdriver. The days of strained wrists and blisters in the palm of my hand are things of the past, as far as putting up shelves etc. is concerned. Ratchets, yankees, philips and pozidriv (yes there is no e on the end) are all names of the past, now all I need is my cordless screwdriver, a few bits and Bobs your uncle, job done in half the time and no sweat. Finish the job and put the driver back in its charging cradle and then it’s ready for another days work when I want it. This is an excellent bit of kit for anyone... Read review

Screwing Made Easy
Review of Black & Decker 9019K by polydeuces

Advantages: Quick for big screwing jobs
Disadvantages: Need to ensure accuracy or disaster

...I had always wanted a cordless screwdriver and I recently treated myself to one. I am an enthusiastic though not particularly good do-it-yourselfer and whilst putting a screw in is not the most tiring thing to do all these things add up and anything which can ease the burden is welcome. The Black and Decker cost £34.49 from Argos (Catalogue number 710/8857) which puts it at the top of the price range for such screwdrivers. It comes with a wall mounted charger unit and putting this on the wall was the first job I did with the screwdriver. It also has a neat carry and storage case. There are enough bits included with the screwdriver to do any job you are likely to do. I do have to say though having used the screwdriver you must choose the right bit or the screwdriver will slip off. When it does so and you still have your finger pressed... Read review

Usable but feels a bit flimsy
Review of Black & Decker 12V Hammer Drill by ahenry

Advantages: Performance, good quality charger
Disadvantages: A little flimsy

...I have a 12V cordless hammer drill/screwdriver from Black and Decker. It has a 1.7 Ah battery which lasts a reasonable time for DIY projects, although it is worth charging it first before you start. It has a smart fast charger which charges the battery in 1 hour from flat. It detects when the battery is charged and switches to trickle charging. The battery stays reasonably cool when its charging (which is good) although the charger itself gets quite warm and has an electrical smell. The drill itself is powerful enough for me to use it most of the time. I now only get my corded drill out if I'm doing a lot of drilling into masonry, or if the masonry is very hard brick or has bits of flint in it (eg concrete lintels). IMHO, for a cordless drill you definitely want a keyless chuck as they are tight enough for most of the time... Read review

Get up and get it done
Review of Black & Decker Quattro Kit 4 in 1 by misslook

Advantages: in op
Disadvantages: None from me

...,99. (It is on offer at the moment I think) The Black & Decker Quattro 12v - Variable speed, cordless tool, drill, drive, sand and cut. It comes in a grey case, which is about 15 in long -15 in high and 6 ins in thickness. It has a large handle on the top, which makes carrying it around a safe and easy. It has two click on and off fasteners on the top so you can open it and close it very easally without it falling open whilst you are carrying it. It is quiet heavy, I’d say around 12 pound in weight, although I am sure a man would find it easy to carry around. (sorry should I say that) It has a 12v battery (1.5 Ah) and it cordless and re-chargable. It takes 1 hour to charge up and it has a charge indicator on it, it has a high capacity battery so you get longer running time. The Drill - The drill is easy to use not too heavy it has... Useful addition to the toolbox
Review of Black & Decker 18v cordless hammer drill by Michael151256

Advantages: Powerful, well balanced,keyless chuck.
Disadvantages: No accessories.

...The Black and Decker cordless 18v hammer drill comes in a carrying case with a battery and one hour charger. It has settings for drilling wood/metal, masonry/concrete, 5 torque settings for screw-driving, reverse and a keyless 3/8 chuck. The drill has always performed well whether I have used it as a screw-driver or a drill. The charged battery lasts well...several hundred screws into wood or enough holes drilled into brick to fasten 70 feet of dado rail to my walls. Although quite heavy it is well balanced and all the controls are easily accessible and clearly marked. When purchased roughly two years ago it cost £140 but they have fallen quite dramatically in price over that period and can be purchased for less than £100. This may seem expensive when many cordless drills and screwdrivers are available at much less than... Read review

Bosch Twin-Set is a Pearl
Review of Bosch 12v PSR 120 by BNibbles

Advantages: As useful as a mains hammer drill, except where extremes of power are needed.
Disadvantages: Needs regular use to get the best from the batteries

...Cordless tools are both beguiling and disappointing at the same time. On the one hand, there’s the prospect of a labour-saving gadget that doesn’t need a mains lead trailing behind it to get tripped over, or worse still, cut in half! Then there is the other side. A lot of cordless tools sit there for months on end with their batteries "trickle-charging" constantly, awaiting the day that they will be pressed into action. This is precisely the job that Nickel Cadmium (NiCad) rechargeable batteries were NOT made for. That is why many, but not all cordless power tools seem to be past their best on even their first outing. NiCads thrive on a cycle of heavy use to the point of exhaustion, followed by a complete recharge. My Black and Decker Emergency Torch is a good case in point. Taken good care of, and discharged... Hammer your way through 80 pounds.
Review of Black & Decker HP331K2 by andycharger

Advantages: A good drill
Disadvantages: none

...ajusts accordingly. The option of clockwise and anti clockwise motion allows you to screw in and out. The torque settings allow you to screw things in and out at several different levels. If you have it on Maximum slippage, It might not screw bolts in all the way if it gets a bit tight but it wont break your wrist when it gets stuck either. Charging time is not a major factor. 4 hours will do to charge and it will last ages. I can work for about 4 hours of constant drilling and fixing with mine. The drill itself is not too heavy either. Most cordless jobs any tail heavy due to the battery. Being Versapack, I can take it our and use it in my other cordless appliances. If only I had some. its a lot of money at £80 but you know it will last as its Black and Decker.... Read review

Best cordless I've ever seen
Review of Black & Decker HP188FSB Firestorm Cordless Drill by VinnyH

Advantages: Powerful, Twistlock chuck, 2 batteries, good price
Disadvantages: None

...This is without doubt the best cordless drill I've ever seen in this price range. I moved house earlier this year. My new house needed quite a lot of work, so I thought I would invest in a cordless drill / screwdriver. I already have a power drill but it's inconvenient having to plug it in wherever you go. I looked at (and tried out) quite a few drills before I settled on the HP188FSB Firestorm. It has a 18V battery and charger - which makes it more than powerful enough for most drilling tasks. I would recommend going for as high a voltage as possible - anything less than 14V will struggle to drill into brickwork. This drill flies through brick, cement, even thick concrete - no problem. There is also a spare battery with the drill - very handy when doing a lot of work. One battery doing work, and another on charge. Not that you have... Read review

Killer Drill(er)
Review of Black & Decker 12V Hammer Drill by LegendaryMrDude

Advantages: Cordless, Quick Charging, Good Features
Disadvantages: Pricey comapred to others

...It's a drill. It's cordless. It's got hammer-action and a screw-driving setting. And if you've seen on in the shops and are wondering whether or not it's any good, read on. Some time ago I bought a shed, which I had great fun putting together. Unfortunately I didn't have a power-drill/screwdriver at the time and so it was put together using nails. Which isn't a bad thing in itself, and the shed is still standing. But building things with screws is a lot more fun, especially if it involves a power-tool. It must be a caveman thing, the whole fascination with powertools. I'd imagine that if my great-great(to the power of lots) grandfather LegendaryMrUgg had owned a Black & Decker PowerFlintAxe, he'd have been the envy of the pre-historic world. And that's how I feel about my latest toy. Handy-work has never been a strong-point in my... Read review
