Advantages: Easy to use, empty and maintain - does what it says, and does it well.

...Black & Decker 1205B 12V Pivot Vac. £59.77 from Argos A small cordless vacuum cleaner. It lives in its charger/base, which can be screwed to the wall, but is small enough just to sit on the worktop (unlike other cordless vacs, it stands on its end, so takes up very little space). The base needs to be near a 13A socket, but it doesn't need to be plugged in all the time, as a full charge gives plenty of suck-time (I have not timed it). The instructions (as is Black & Decker norm) are detailed, easy to understand, and helpful. The rotating nozzle may seem like a gimmick, but it makes the device very good at vacuuming on high surfaces (e.g. cupboard tops) and low inaccesable spots. There are two speeds, but usually the lower one is fine. The spout is telescopic, and there is a little brush that can be clipped into the end... Read review

...The Black and Decker Dustbuster 4.8v cleaner is fantastic! It cleans everything! I'll run through a tried list: Corn Flakes, Dust, Tea, Wine, Sawdust Flies and spiders (!), Crumbs. DESIGN It can be attached to a wall next to a plug to be recharged before use. The dust is collected in a clear blue case which can be emptied and washed clean. Also, there are some attachments which can be put on the front of the vacuum to increase the power through making the gap in the front less. These attachments click into the base of the vacuum, making it easy to keep organised. CLEAN Cleaning the machine is very easy as the filters and the containers can be cleaned under the tap. This means that there aren't any expensive add-ons which need to be bought. GUARANTEE The guarantee (not that it's needed, as the workmanship is good) lasts for 24 months... Read review

...This hammer drill is great as it good quality and easy to use (a must for me). It has all the standard features you would expect from hammer dills. To prove how good quality Black and Decker are I still have my dads old drill which must be over 10 Years old and its still in working order. I reason I got a new one was that the old one was a bit basic and did not have all the gadgets that the new versions have on them. It was also really good Value for money. I would buy it again... ...I bought this dustbuster after staying at my daughter's and using hers. It is certainly one of the most useful things I've ever bought, it's so versatile. I chose the turbo model as it has two speeds; of course the charge doesn't last as long on the higher speed, but for most jobs it's only working for a few minutes. I leave it charging all the time so that it's always ready, tucked away in a cupboard. It saves sweeping the floor as it has neat attachments which are easily fitted and is perfect for crumbs and bits of food that may be dropped in the lounge. It means not lugging the vacuum cleaner out so regularly and is quick and efficient. It doesn't need emptying very often as it's generally used for small jobs, but the filter can be wiped with a damp cloth which keeps its efficincy and the dust bowl can be washed out if necessary... ...to avoid dust and dirt going everywhere. Both chambers should then be emptied, which requires nothing but a shake, or a wipe out with a wet cloth if you desire. This can be a little tricky, as they are some hard to reach areas at the mouth of the main dirt chamber. The foam lid of the inner container will also require shaking and rubbing with a cloth to remove any hairs and dust bunnies, which is somewhat unpleasant, but quick enough to do. Then, it's a simple matter of putting the vacuum back together. It's suggested that you occasionally clean the top foam filter as well in warm soapy water, to keep it clean and picking up the optimum amount of dirt. -Overall Opinion- I have only had experience with one other mini vacuum, but so far, the Black and Decker Wet and Dry Dustbuster trumps it. The Black and Decker V9650 fitted all my criteria; it is powerful, compact, and versatile with on board tools and accessories. Product Design and Use ~ This dustbuster product is finished in a durable white tough plastic with a long curve loop style handle and purple operating buttons. It is about 50cm long with a contoured slim nose and about 80cm wide, so its small enough to hold, carry, and store. It comes with a recharging base, which is wall mountable and charger. ...The Black & Decker Paintmate is a crucial piece of kit. With experience of paint pads, rollers and all the rest, I found the Paintmate easy to use and much better than having to dip into a tin of paint to refill the brush. It comes equipped with a roller and an angled brush, with a locking device to keep the paint flowing without having to keep the button depressed. It works on standard batteries or the Black & Decker rechargable ones. I painted the bedroom in half the time! The only drawback is having to buy refills rather than filling up with your own preferred brand, and of course, cleaning up.... Read review

...I am currently undergoing the wonderful process of moving house. Despite the fact that my house is only seven years old, some of the paintwork has suffered a few knocks and bumps over the years and I therefore thought it wise to touch up the offending areas with some shiny new paint. Unfortunately, in order to do this, both the wood and walls needed some care and attention and I’m afraid DIY and I don’t really go together. So, off I trundled to the nearest branch of B & Q to find a new electric sander that would make preparing the woodwork and walls a little easier. WHY I CHOSE THIS PRODUCT To be honest I only ever associate one brand with power tools, and that’s Black and Decker. ...The price of these sanders vary, but I recommend paying about £25 from local superstores etc. I am an expert on these, I am, actually on my second, and that is not because they do not last, someone used mine on decking and the motor just gave up, quite understandable really. The Mouse was three years old mind you, so not the end of the world. This kit comes complete with a case containing many many sanding pads, which fit by velcro, plus some which are more like Brillo pads, very useful indeed. The case itself is very good, if a little small, as there are always things you want to add, and it comes pretty full. It also comes with a vaccuum cleaner attachment, so you can sand away merrily with every grainnof dust being whisked away, this is not just a gimmick, it actually does work.
