...I was delighted when my husband bought the Black and Decker PV1205B Dust buster for my birthday. Whilst the price might seem high anything with lower voltage is a waste of time and money. Lower voltage dust busters just don't work you need something with a bit of power, one that performs well and does the job you need it to do. The Black and Decker PV1205B Dust buster is powerful, practical and efficient basically you cannot go far wrong in purchasing this and I would recommend it to anyone. My dust buster has always been reliable and it has never let me down yet. It makes the perfect gift for any occasion and will last for years. I have a 3 year old child and I cannot tell you enough how helpful this Dust buster has been with my child. You know children, they make a mess don't they? Black & Decker Pivot Vac - an excellent machine

Advantages: Easy to use, empty and maintain - does what it says, and does it well.
Disadvantages: I've not found any yet

It lives in its charger/base, which can be screwed to the wall, but is small enough just to sit on the worktop (unlike other cordless vacs, it stands on its end, so takes up very little space). The base needs to be near a 13A socket, but it doesn't need to be plugged in all the time, as a full charge gives plenty of suck-time (I have not timed it). The instructions (as is Black & Decker norm) are detailed, easy to understand, and helpful. The rotating nozzle may seem like a gimmick, but it makes the device very good at vacuuming on high surfaces (e.g. cupboard tops) and low inaccesable spots. There are two speeds, but usually the lower one is fine. The spout is telescopic, and there is a little brush that can be clipped into the end...

A Child's Power Toy

Advantages: Cheap, cheerful, ideal for trimming grass edges and smal gardens
Disadvantages: Cheap and nasty, not man enough for the job, made out of inferior materials

My first 301 lasted about an hour and a half an hour before giving up the ghost and packing in. Whilst I did attempt to fix the 301, unfortunately it was beyond repair since many of the moving plastic bits had become so hot they melted and stuck together. You may ask how and why I got another 301, especially given the short life span of the product, so I had better explain. After a bit of whinging to the retailer the manager of the store reluctantly agreed to give me a replacement. I could not get my money back, I was not offered an alternative and as there was no way the manager was going to give in (and I didn?t want to push her to the point the offer was totally withdrawn) so I reluctantly accepted another 301. Black and Decker Dry and Sometimes Wet Vac

Black and Decker: A sting in the tail

...Being a gadget lover I bought my black and decker scorpion about 5 years ago. At the time it was the only electic saw that I could find and I had a big DIY job to do at home. The saw itself comes with three blades; one for wood, one for metal pipes and plastics and a third somewhat flexible blade for use as a jigsaw. So this is really three saws in one. The blades can be changed by simply pressing a safety catch on the side, removing the old one and sloting in the new one. The metal and wood blades fit in one direction whilst the jigsaw blade fits in at a 90 degree angle for obvious reasons. DESIGN It can be attached to a wall next to a plug to be recharged before use. The dust is collected in a clear blue case which can be emptied and washed clean. Also, there are some attachments which can be put on the front of the vacuum to increase the power through making the gap in the front less. A Great addition to any Toolbox

Disadvantages: No very low speed setting

...still a bit savage with wood and feel it would be better if it could be set lower still. The package also includes a fibreglass cut off tool, a diamond point and 2 rubber polishing tools (1 fine 1 course). The RTX-6 pack also includes a set of clamps which i have yet to use. There are many other tools that can be purchased for the RTX and most tools for the dremmel rotary tool will also fit this. I have the chainsaw sharpening attachment for the dremmel and it fits and works fine. The tool fits easily enough in your hand and the supplied small wrench allows you to easily switch between the different attachments. I think the Black and Decker is a good buy at half the price of other rotary tools, though the adjustable speed settings could be a bit more adjustable....
