...We had some really good beers at Chesterfield Beer Festival this year. My favourites (as always) tended to be the darker beers ~ the stouts, milds and porters. For this reason my feet directed my body to Cairngorm Black Gold. I have tried (and generally enjoyed) beers from this brewery before, so I was looking forward to sampling a few ~ purely in the interests of research of course! ~~~THE BREWERY. The Cairngorm Brewery was set up in 2001 and produces beers from two breweries that were based in Aviemore and Tomintoul. ...I'm usually a Gold Blend girl when it comes to my coffee, it's how I like my coffee and my men - strong, dark and rich. But horrors! In Londis last night there was no Gold Blend and as the only alternatives were Nescafe Black Gold and a revolting looking jar of light brown coffee powder, I plumped for Black Gold with the reasoning that if it's made by Nescafe it must be good. To be honest, I thought I'd tried every variation on Nescafe on the market but I've never heard of Black Gold before. There's nothing on the label to suggest it's a new product so I either need my eyes testing or it's one of those things that isn't too widely available. Maya Gold is both organic & fairly traded. Also nutritionally it's better for you then your average bar of cadbury's. This is because it has higher levels of cocoa (70%), and less sugar. It will still make you fat if eaten in large quantities, but the general idea is that you need less of this chocolate to get you cocoa fix anyway! Nescafe was first introduced in Switzerland in 1938 and has since grown to be one of the largest and most well respected brands on the market. oOoOo THE JAR oOoOo The jar I have sitting in front of me is a 200g jar. Its a bulky rectangular clear glass jar with sides that curve in. It screams quality at you. The label on the front is cut to fit the wavy design of the har and is varying shades of gold. The label simply says Nescafe Gold Blend in large white writing and 'Fresh taste and rich aroma' in smaller black writing at the bottom of the label. ...This mascara has been a real life saver for somebody who really needs to wear mascara. I’ve been using this mascara for about three years and doubt I will go back to using a more expensive brand. I also have very sensitive eyes, but this mascara hasn’t irritated them at all. Not only that but they give a great result and it’s long lasting too.
