An athlete's life in black, white and gold!

Advantages: interesting and enjoyable autobiography
Disadvantages: none!

...Ever since I can remember I have loved watching athletics, especially at the major championships like the Olympic Games. There have been many strong British athletes to follow over the years and one of my favourites is Kelly Holmes who's greatest achievements came at the 2004 Athens Olympics when she won two gold medals in the 800 and 1500 metres. Black, White and Gold is her autobiography. I always prefer reading autobiographies as oppose to biographies (even if they are written with someone else) because I like reading about first hand experiences. Kelly has written this book with the help of someone called Fanny Blake and it makes a very interesting read starting with her early life, following through her days in the army and moving on to her athletics career and beyond. Black and White is a gaming delight

Advantages: Good graphics, good gameplay, innovative AI
Disadvantages: Not enough levels

...Black & White is reffering to the way you can play this game, as Black (Evil) or White (Good) you can chop and change whenever you want. Though playing as consistently Evil is easier I would say. The graphics change according to how good or evil you are as well, skies darkening for example if you are evil, whilst the sun will shine and the birds will sing if you are good! The aim of Black & White is to win over worshippers thus allowing you to overcome opposing Gods. You are a God you see and as such can do many things; with one caveat you can’t use your godly powers outside your sphere of influence. To gain influence you need to convert or to destroy opposing Gods villages. At this point you may well be asking yourself… How can you do that though if you can’t act outside your sphere of influence...

Black and White

Advantages: er....
Disadvantages: hummm...

...To maul the words of Winston Churchill, rarely in the field of gaming history have so many been excited and subsequently disappointed by such a wholly worthless game. Despite being created by a team led by a supposed 'professional,' the first signs of trouble were clear for all to see - constantly delayed, more and more money being pumped into development and other difficulties. Still, that's enough about Ion Storm's bomb So what of Lionhead's equally anticipated and delayed Black and White? Fortunately for both Lionhead and purchasers of the game, Black and White turned out to be not too shabby at all - at first, anyway. And no doubt the game will rack up higher sales figures than the Bible - well, higher sales figures than The Bible Adventures: Jumping Jesus anyway. Advantages: Most excellent game I have ever played, ever.
Disadvantages: May have a problem getting started. Check info on cheats sites or Black & White web site.

...and yourself a little better, it is advisable to do so before you connect with other creatures on the internet for gameplay. I think this strategy will be a necessity for you to be able to compete in other Black & White worlds, against opposing players. Whether you choose to be a cow, an ape or any of the other creatures in Black and White they will develope a personality. Your creature needs to eat, rest and defacate, just like in real life, so I guess it's a sort of mega advanced cyberpet, it needs care and attention but be aware, so do your worshippers. I guess you'll just have to go out right now and buy it. I guarantee that as soon as it loads and you begin playing, you'll be hooked. ...A Black & White Delight!! I find there is nothing better on a miserable day than to settle down with the fire on to watch an old black & white movie! ...In this game you play god. You have a hand which shows your presence on the earth. You also have a creature which can do things for you. There is really no aim to this game, it’s a bit like sim city (in the broadest sense). You build villages and then get the people to believe in you. You have a circle of influence, shown by a line. Within this influence you can perform miracles like creating wood, food and fireballs. Buy impressing your villagers and getting more to believe in you your circle of influence increases. This is really a power game where you try and get as many people to believe in you as possible. To get people to believe in you, you could be bad, i.e. make them fear you, black, or be nice, white. ...Black box or white box? This is the first of many decisions you will make in this huge R.T.S game. At every point in the game, you can choose whether to choose the ‘Good’ or the ‘Bad’ way of doing things. One good example of this, in the first land you must get a ‘Gate Stone’ from a villager. She asks you to find her missing husband and then she will give you the stone. It's a simple choice.. Black or White

Advantages: Great graphics, great story
Disadvantages: The long tutorials you have to go through

...I've had this game for ages now, and still haven't got to the end of it, partly because I changed computers when I was half way through and never got the courage up to start again! So Black and White has been round for quite a while now and has been made by Lionhead Studios, and has loads of wonderful recommendations from various websites, magazines, etc. This is my opinion on it and a bit more. WHAT SORT OF GAME IS IT? = Well it's been put in the strategy category within ciao and that is really what it is. However, I find that when playing it, there aren't too many choices to choices to make. Basically it's usally a choice between two paths, good or bad.
