Blackberry Fields forever ?!

...of the fields in search of those blue-black shiny berries that grew prolifically in the hedgerows. Woe betide you if you weren't wearing long sleeves to protect you from the thorny briar's. Yes you can buy cultivated blackberry bushes to plant either in your garden or allotment but I would far rather go and hunt for my treasure. Blackberry bushes start to produce flower in the Spring ready to produce fruit late Summer to early Autumn. The bushes grow tall and wide and will make a takeover bid if they are left to their own devices. The blackberry bushes have medium sized rich green leaves that are deeply veined and jagged edged, the fragrant blossom produced during the the Spring has the palest of baby pink leaves I know exactly where to find my Blackberries and that is the spot that I will revisit every year to gather my fruit. "I wanna be a producer..."

Advantages: Strong vocals and musical leads
Disadvantages: Missing a certain sparkle

...The Producers is one of those films that I've wanted to see for a long time. I can't to be honest think why this is the case but it is and so when I noticed it whilst out shopping the other day I simply had to buy it. Now I knew upon purchasing the film that I was going to be a musical style film with a good helping of humour and to be fair that is what I received. I must say however, and this is reflected in my rating of the film, that I was expecting something else. Now what this something else is I don't know either but all I can tell you is that I was expecting a little sparkle that just wasn't there. The Producers tells the story of Leo Bloom an accountant and a down on his luck producer Max Bialystock who despite Leo's initial reluctance plot a somewhat bent get rich scheme. Producing a flop or a hit?

Advantages: Encouraged me to see the stage play
Disadvantages: A bit too theatrical for a film

...Max Bialystock is a producer, but not a very good one. After another flop, he is ready to give up. That is, until he meets shy accountant, Leo Bloom, who suggests that they raise the cash for a play that they know will be hugely unpopular, then pocket the surplus cash once the play has closed. Blackberry days

If you have a blackberry bush you need to prune it as soon as it finishes fruiting prune the stems that have fruited back do not prune this years new bramble canes, as they will produce fruit next year, The blackberry is self-fertile so you only need one bush. The canes /stems can grow up to 5 metres long and do need a little support I grow mine over other hedgerow bushes pyracantha and hawthorn this gives the support it needs if you are growing yours without a hedgerow you may need a stick to support it. Where the cane runs along the ground it will develop roots and grow a new bush. Blackberry Curve 8310

...So bear with me as this is my first stab at writing a technology review but I received a new Blackberry for work a few weeks ago and I'm really pleased with it so I though I would write a review on it. The model in question is the Blackberry Curve 8310 Smartphone. I got mine free but with price plans available with the different service providers it can be anywhere up to £200 I believe. The first thing I noticed about the phone (which is what made me choose it and as you can probably tell that I'm not very technologically minded!) is that it looks good. The phone has a lovely metallic finish, almost like a gunmetal grey colour to it although it does come in a pink version too (I wasn't allowed this for work unfortunately!) Advantages: Easy to use, pleasent to look at, good battery life, big memory, good camera, easily customisable.
Disadvantages: May not be for those who prefer a smaller phone.

The Producers - Hit or Miss?

Advantages: Light-hearted, brash, funny in places - great for fans of musical theatre
Disadvantages: Over-acted, poor soundtrack, too long

...Sad to say this film didn't stand much of a chance following as it did my viewing of the outstanding 'Brokeback Mountain' (also reviewed on Ciao by myself). I was hoping for a laugh-out-loud comedy to lighten the mood after feeling fairly crushed from the forementioned film, and lighten the mood this film certainly did. However, laugh-out-loud it was not, and coupled with other short-comings it proved to be a disappointment all round. i heart my blackberry

...Okay so I admit it im a netaholic. I love the internet and feel totally disconnected without it so I knew that my next phone even though I'm not a business person would be a blackberry. As I am on Three I had little choice which in Blackberry- in fact the Bold was the only choice but after reading numerous reviews I felt that was probably the best option anyway as I don't like touch touchscreen phones so the storm would annoy me and the curve has ever so slightly slower internet. So the phone! Well visually it does look great. Both business like but also attractive with nice curves and a glossy very good quality screen. My husband also agrees that the leather back cover is a particulary smooth feature in the design.
