...as we missed lunch so decided to have something to eat in the bar area. We were the first people in but over the course of the evening a few other groups did come in and have a drink before heading to the restaurant for their meals. Apparently it was "Lancashire Night" which meant the staff all wore flat caps. We liked the bar area, the décor was contemporary and we got comfortable on the big brown leather sofas. The menu on offer in the bar was the same as in the restaurant, I decided to have a fish pie and my husband a chicken and mushroom pie. Service and the food was very good, although I thought £11 for a pie was a bit on the steep side. After dinner we retired to our room, it was a bit chilly as the radiator was not working, we called reception and they quickly brought us up a heater and the next day maintenance fixed the one...

Blackpool, the seaside resort of Lancashire.

Advantages: A BRILLANT PLACE FOR KIDS AND ADULTS.
Disadvantages: nothing except can get busy in summer and can be expensive.

...Blackpool is a grat place to take children on holiday. They have a great sandy beach and plenty of sea for the kids to play in. There are donkeys on the beach to ride and my kids enjoyed that and was well worth the money. A place you must go is to the Tower, there is so much to do in there, we went to the circuswhich we enjoyed and the kids had there faces painted. You are mesmerized by what they do, and they do plenty, but it goes on for a while so be prepared to sit there well over an hour and a half, you get a sore bum, my baby got bored so not good for little ones. plenty places to eat aswell, they have a indoor play ball area for the little ones. Background When Mrs B and I decided that we would take Baby B on her first seaside holiday we knew that Blackpool was tacky so knew that it wasn't exactly sparkling and the place it used to be but we thought we would go along anyway and try and have a little family break with our 3 month old baby. ...I visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach last year and I thought it was great value for money. The weather in Blackpool wasnt always great during my 4 day stay but this park didnt disappoint where ride were concerned or eating out. The general atmosphere of this park is happy and fun which is great for the family however the atmosphere here is nothing compared to theme parks like Disneyland or Universal Studios, but you get what you pay for with this park in the sense of good rides and entertainment. To pay in to the park you need to buy wristbands, I think that if you want to get the best out of the park the Ultimate Daily Wristband is the best deal, however if you dont really want to do many rides or are not fit to for various physical reasons the Pleasure Beach Pass will probably be enough for you and then when in the park you can...

...Supposedly Britain's favourite seaside resort my first and so far only visit to Blackpool was last here for my boyfriends birthday, we went for a long weekend, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it...we stayed in a cheap hotel, although it was cheap it was simple and clean, just right for getting your head down... The Pleasure Beach was better than I expected with a wide range of rides, so many we couldn't fit them all in on one day...the pier was so-so and Blackpool in general was in a word FANTASTIC. The Journey From Swindon a supposed 4 hour journey, this however was not the case as we left middle of the afternoon (2pm) and hit all the traffic on the motorway. Ended up taking 6 hours! ...I have already done a review about Blackpool, and I absolutely love the place, we went to Blackpool two years ago on a family holiday, myself husband and three kids. We booked our holiday through The Belfast Telegraph travel agentsand we went through Ulster Bus tours, the price was £800 approx this included traveling expenses and the hotel.(Bed, breakfast and evening meal).
