Theme Park DS

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

...Theme Park for the DS is a game where you can build and run your very own theme park, you manage money, rides, advertisement and also researching new rides and surroundings with the main goal of making a profit and making your customers happy to do so. This game was first released for the snes and other platforms around 1994 but now its been re released with its same great charms for the Nintendo DS. This is a great game with lots of hours of game play in it. After you have built a successful park if you can move on and create another one in another country and the game gets harder as it progesses. It can get very repetitive when you start a new game over and over as rides are the same mostly in all countries when you develop in the game and it gets harder. I think that this is a great game to buy if you enjoyed it in...

Theme Park - Mega Drive

Advantages: Create your own theme park man!!
Disadvantages: Can be a little hard at times and a little repititive

...This game was originally released in 1994 and is a construction and management simulation type game. Now on the sounds of that, it doesnt particularly sound like kids would go out and buy it different, original and innovative and has lasted to this day with different version, sequels and updates on all different platforms. The aim of the game is to build a successful theme park, something that every teenager says when walking round Chessington or Thorpe Park, 'Id have that roller coaster higher' or 'I think there should be more water there' - anything to impress the girls hey! Well this was a chance for kids to still be kids but have control over something they enjoyed. You started off with a plot of land in the UK and a tidy sum of money to start building, of course you have to decide what type of gates you want, where your path...

Fun Park, Not Theme Park

Advantages: No entrance fee, indoor and outdoor activities, lots of choice
Disadvantages: Expensive. Expensive. Did I mention it can be expensive?!

...M&D's bills itself as "Scotland's Theme Park", but having been to Chessington World of Adventures and Alton Towers, this place is far smaller and doesn't really merit the title "theme park" Location The park is located just off the M74 motorway at junction 5 and off the A725 main East Kilbride to Coatbridge road. Buses run to the park from Glasgow at weekends and school holidays (the FirstBus X7 from Buchanan Bus Station) but this is a place best reached by car. Parking is reasonably plentiful but you have to walk a little to reach the entrance. The Park The main attractions at this small park are the Tsunami and Tornado rollercoasters and the Bomber 2 - a device that looks like a huge crane with seating for thrill seekers at either end which spins round at breakneck speeds turning you upside down. Now I have to admit here...

Review of M&D's Family Theme Park, Scotland

Theme Park is a classic

Advantages: Just like the original and totally addictive
Disadvantages: No challenges to work towards

...I've always been a big fan of the simulation games so when I got my DS I was having a look around for games to buy. I was delighted when I found Theme Park as I always loved this game when playing it on the PC when I was younger. You have to design your own park with rides, shops and features whilst keeping your visitors happy. Employing staff and servicing rides is also a key feature. It is very easy to play on the DS as you use the pen to place items that you need. I was a little disappointed that there are no challenges or objectives to complete as with the newer Theme Park INC on the PC, which I had just completed when buying this game. However, Theme Park on the DS is the total classic version and is brilliant. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves Theme Park or to anyone who has never played it before but loves simulation...

Review of Theme Park (Nintendo DS)

Theme Park

Advantages: Addictiveness, Fun
Disadvantages: Repetivite after a long while

...When Theme Park was released, it was gratefully received by a computer games-buying public, saturated with the same-old Platformers and Pointless Film ports. It provided a welcome adaptation and introduced an even more popular variety on Sim City. The basic principle of Theme Park was to build a Theme Park and run it at a profit. Each time a Theme Park became worth more, it could be sold and a more choice piece of land bought, with the most expensive land being Florida, USA. The games however was so much more than this. It could be played in three different versions. One was the sandbox version which was basically just choosing what to put where and deciding what types of research to put money into (you start off with only a few rides and rubbish toilet facilities and develop to better ones gradually). The Simulation has...

Review of Theme Park World (PC)

Theme Park World

Advantages: Great Game with loads of playing time.
Disadvantages: Can only hire limited members of Staff

...Theme Park World Well where do you start with a game like this. It's totally wicked. I've loved this game for so long I used to be totally addicted to it. I just used to love making money on games like this it become a total addiction. There have been so many versions of this game that has been created for the different platforms. I have two different versions for my PS1 this version for my PS2 and I also have another version that works on my pc. I just become so embraced in this game I found it quite incredible. The aim of the game is to make money by building a great, fun packed well built theme park. Within the game there are four different parks that you have to build parks in. in the first park called "The Lost Kingdom: Prehistoric World" where you are given a budget of £50000.00. this is more than enough to build a good...

PortAventura Theme Park

Advantages: Wonderful fun in the sun
Disadvantages: None

...In August of this year my husband and our 2 kids, my son aged 14 and my daughter aged 9 went to Salou for our summer holidays. Salou is very big and noisy with plenty to do, not for someone looking for a quiet holiday. We had a wonderful holiday but the definite hightlight was PortAventura Theme Park. It way exceeded my expectations. I never thought a theme park could be so much fun. Before we went over to Spain we were advised to purchase our theme park tickets here as that it the cheaper way to do it and there are always special deals on the tickets here. We managed to get 4 7 day tickets for the price of 3. We were so glad we did this as the tickets were so much dearer over there and you also had to queue to buy the tickets whereas we were able to straight into the park without queueing. The theme park itself is only...

Review of Porta Ventura Theme Park, Salou

3D Theme Park

Advantages: Fantastic 3D graphics
Disadvantages: None

...Theme Park World is the 3D sequel to the popular classic, Theme Park. The idea of the game is to maneage your very own theme park by building rides, shops and various other attractions to keep the visitors (little people) as happy as possible. Theme Park World has very good graphics, especially compared to the first version, and the rides and shops look excellent in 3D. You link all your rides and attractions up by building paths and special walkways where your little visitors can queue up for their favourite rides. These pathways can be decorated by placing some fantastic outdoor garden features, like trees, flowers, water features and sign posts to direct your visitors around the park. All the way through you have a very useful character telling you the basics and giving you some very important advice. One main job for you is to...

Theme Park - relive gaming memories - back on the Nintendo DS

Advantages: Addictive and fun game to play
Disadvantages: Can get repetitive, needs missions and challenges

...This review is for the Nintendo DS game, Theme Park, developed and published by Electronic Arts. The game, like its predecessors on other consoles and on the PC, is to build a theme park including the rides and infra-structure and keep your guests happy as they explore your new park. The concept of this game is quite simple, research and build rides, build infra-structure such as paths and food outlets in your park, and then open up your theme park to the paying public. Keep an eye on the needs of your visitors and make sure that you make money. Although the concept is simple, this is a very addictive game. There is a challenge mode in the game, so you start each game afresh and have to make enough profit to be able to sell your theme park before buying another bigger one, with more rides and facilities available. You start in the UK...

A Theme Park by the Sea

Advantages: Reasonable prices, lots to see and do for all the family
Disadvantages: A few rides are outdated

...The Pleasure Beach is a theme park located along the Fylde coast in Blackpool and is currently the most visited theme park in the UK with over 6 million visitors a year. The park has been around since 1896 and was originally designed to be like an "American style amusement park". The park is still owned and run by the descendants of the original founder of the park and currently boasts over 125 rides and attractions, which includes 9 rollercoasters. Introduction We turned up at Blackpool Pleasure Beach not really knowing what to expect, half of me expected it to be a overgrown, overpriced funfair and the other half had high hopes of it being a proper theme park. The Pleasure Beach is actually both, it definitely has a funfair feel in places, this may be because half of it is on a pier or because of it's various smaller rides...
