Blackpool Tower - A place worth visiting

Advantages: The whole day can be spent in the Tower
Disadvantages: Very expensive

...Information Everything mentioned here is included in the entrance fee and allows you to spend all day in the Tower and the Tower remains open all year round. The prices are: Adult £13.95 Senior £9.95 Child (under 16) £10.95 Family saver 1 £33.00 1 Adult and 2 kids Family saver 2 £36.00 2 adults and 1 child Family saver 3 £46.00 2 adults and 2 kids Family saver 4 £55.00 2 adults and 3 kids Conclusion We really enjoyed our visit to the Tower and would recommend it to anyone who is planning on going to Blackpool. The prices do seem to be expensive but there is a lot to do in the Tower and it is worth every penny. Thanks for reading...

Blackpool tower what a let down

Advantages: good view on a nice day
Disadvantages: where do i start?

...I hadn't been up Blackpool tower since i was 8 so to say this visit with my husband and 2 year old (plus a new one in a pram) was a disappointment is an understatement. We went with another couple who have a 3 year old boy so we were looking to make it a big day out. Firstly the shabby entrance is not the most inviting. There is no ramp at the front to allow ease of access for prams or wheelchairs. You have to enter the back way for this. Secondly the prices. It shopuld have been £33 for a family of 3 so i questioned our little lads age to see if he could get in for free. I was told he had to stand against a board with a picture of the tower on it. The basics were if he was taller than the tower - he had to pay. Now my lad is approx 3ft and he was a whole head above the tower. Luckily we had a free child entry vouvher with us as...

A Towering Success And Towers Of Fun

Advantages: Much To Do, Fantastic Views
Disadvantages: Can be Pricy

...Blackpool's famous tower was constructed and opened in 1894, and since then has remained as an iconic landmark for pretty much the whole country. Many people flock to Blackpool in their millions every year, and thus the tower has also become a popular tourist plot for holidaymakers. The tower was constructed by Gustave Eiffel, which, if you are clever enough to work out is the same company which built the Eifel Tower in Paris a few years earlier. Although Blackpool Tower is smaller than its Foreign cousin, at 158 m (518 ft) the views are pretty impressive and no trip to Blackpool is complete without having a gander across the town and the beach, particularly when the illumination season is on and the whole surroundings glitter and sparkle into the night. The tower also looks great from a distance, and really envelopes Blackpool as...

Blackpool Tower we do like to be at the seaside

Advantages: plenty to do for a rainy day
Disadvantages: The bars and food aren't cheap

...ADDITIONAL COMMENTS - 25.4.01 Have just come back from Blackpool. Some criticsims - it must have had about 100 years of dust on those mouldings on the tower ballroom roof. They didn't appear to pick any rubbish up at night up in the gods where we were sat. There was absolutely no knee/leg room for anyone who was taller than 5ft 5in. I ended up sitting on the steps. If you vist the ballroom sit downstairs not up in the gods. The area around the tower left a lot to be desired gangs of hen / stag parties everywhere. Maybe the intended new gambling hotels/licences might actually help improve Blackpool at night. Its really not the area to be around late at night especially with children. Gangs of lads kicking bottles down the street and things like that - my daughter was scared all the way back to the hotel and that was only a 5...

Review of Blackpool Tower

#Im on top of the world looking down on blackpool#

Advantages: Circus, ballroom, jungle jim if you have kids
Disadvantages: Dont try to make a day out of it. More for the kids as well. Overpriced

...I remember when Blackpool Tower was fun and actually could be classed as a 'day out'. Now it has been reduced to an over priced, hour of rubbish. I would reccommend that you visit the circus. This is definately the best feature of the tower. Every season it hosts a new show, bursting with new talent and amazing acts. It also holds a fantastic pantomime circus at Christmas, and I would reccomend taking the kids to the tower at this time of year, as its probably the most imaginative and exciting time of year, and the circus offers great entertainment which is a bit different from going to the theatre to watch the traditional christmas pantomimes. Just whatever you do, don't miss the circus, because the rest isn't so thrilling. There is a dinosaur ride, which takes you on a journey through the ages. Its a bit like...

518ft and 9 inches of pure pleasure!

Advantages: Plenty to do, fun for all the family, not too expensive and a brilliant circus!
Disadvantages: None unless you are scared of heights.

...meals. The burger bar is very reasonably priced (cheaper than McDonalds) and the food was excellent. Onwards and upwards we come to the lifts for the tower top ride. Two massive glass elevators which sit side by side and are controlled by people who have scripts to stick to on the way up to let you know how high you are and also to try to give you a wee fright or two. Some people may not like the lifts because they do at busy times tend to cram a lot of people into them and it can be a bit uncomfortable but to get to the top you have to put up with it. The lift operators will let you know when you are half way up the tower and when you reach the height of the Pepsi max rollercoaster (a giant roller coaster at blackpools pleasure beach) they will also crack jokes about the state of the tower coming out with things like " ok fingers...

A bleak Blackpool hotel

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review

...'t much better than the hotel. It was very run down. There were many hotels and bars closed up and even the odd one burnt down! The weather was very bleak which didn't help! There are lots of places to go with a family in blackpool though including the zoo which is at Stanley Park, the Tower which has the circus and a soft play area, the aquarium, the piers which have rides and amusements on and the usual seaside type places like a little wax works attraction. There are certainly places to go but from what we experienced they all looked very sorry for themselves and worse for wear. I thikn the Pleasure Beach and all it's rides was even looking rather sad. Opinion This hotel needs a good old re-think from the lay out of the carpark to the run down nature of the bathroom. The staff need to act a bit more professional instead...

Review of Liberty'S On The Square, Blackpool

The CN Tower

Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: None

....99 Canadian Dollars. With this price you get to do the following; Look Out + Glass Floor + Skypod + Movie + Motion Theatre Ride (Must be 107 centimetres (42 inches) to ride) Includes Express Elevation. It?s the best package that you could go for, because it allows you to experience everything the tower has to offer, this price is exclusive for both children and adults, but it?s not a bad price. It will allow you the access to the express elevator that takes you to the observation deck, you get to experience the look out area, the experience of the Glass Floor, the actual Skypod experience, and you get to see and movie, and have a chance to experience a motion theatre ride, which is amazing. All these will be explained in detail. Other packages include; (All in Canadian Dollars) Observation Sky Pod Experience Look Out + Glass Floor...

Review of CN Tower, Toronto

It is breezy at the top Updated

Advantages: Plenty to do for everyone
Disadvantages: A bit expensive

...I have recently visited Blackpool and have found out some updated information about the Tower so here is my original opinion with bits corrected or added in to give the mose current informtaion. Have you got a head for heights? Then try a trip to the top of Blackpool Tower! The view is tremendous but it’s a long way down…. Blackpool itself is on the north west coast of England, and the Tower is right on the seafront roughly opposite the Central Pier. It is easily accessible using the trams that run from Fleetwood in the North to Starr Gate in the South. The buses also run straight along the promenade, past the Tower. The Tower is still one of Blackpool’s the major attractions. It is open from 10am until 6pm every day from 7th April until 4th November. It costs £10 for adults and £6 for children and senior...

A Long Weekend in Blackpool @ the Grand Metropole

Advantages: Clean and generally friendly hotel, very reasonable prices
Disadvantages: Rooms need ventilation

...Are you seated comfortably? This is a long review of my stay at Blackpool?s Grand Metropole. WHAT AND WHERE? The Grand Metropole Hotel, Blackpool boasts that it is the only hotel in Blackpool located between the sea and Blackpool promenade which is certainly the truth. From the hotel there are fabulous views of the Irish Sea. The hotel is fairly close to both the North Pier and Blackpool Tower and is within walking distance from many of Blackpool's attractions. There are numerous bars, restaurants and nightspots within a few minutes walking distance of the hotel, some even less than a minute away. BOOKING PROCESS/RECEPTION We booked in for 3 nights in late June 2009. The booking process was easy enough by telephone and although I asked for a confirmation email to be sent and was advised they would do send one; no...
