Oro Blanco - We like!!

Advantages: Good value and top service all round
Disadvantages: Less suitable for families and older couples

...Me and 3 friends visited Tenerife and stayed in Oro Blanco in July '06. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for the week. All the staff had very good English and helped us whenever and wherever they could. I should say though, it is recommended more for the 'younger generation' due to the increased popularity Oro Blanco has for the younger holiday goers especially with a very cheap happy hour, pool tables, table tennis tables and such alike. However, it shouldn't put off families or couples as our experience at the Oro Blanco, which is in a perfect location for Playa De Las Americas, was spot on and couldn't have asked for much more. In addition, food and drink is also top quality at the accomodation, something we benefited from being a self-catering holiday....

Review of Cortijo Blanco Hotel San Pedro de Alcantara, Marbella

Fantastic

...or drank in the hotel so cannot comment on the quality.l The pool is a real sun trap and no matter what time of day you go, there are always sunbeds available. The beach is about a 10 minute walk and the water park which has a fantastic dolphin show is about a 10 minute taxi ride which costs about 8 euros, although I believe there is a free bus but I don't know where it goes from. The location is great too, just far enough away from all the action of starco and veronica's strip to be able to sleep at night but close enough to stumble home after a hard night partying. There's a fantastic little restaurant next door called The Tavern which is run by English people who are so nice, the foods great and you can't go wrong with the prices either. Overall, Oro Blanco is a good place to stay and I would certainly stay there again....

Best White Rum On The Market

Advantages: Great with mixers.
Disadvantages: Not great straight or on the rocks.

...Tried this in Cuba. Easily the best white rum on the market IMHO. Best used in mixers. Has a natural vanilla flavor and aroma. Beats Bacardi any day. Trust me, once you try it you won't go back. I find adding 2 to 3 oz is best so your mix doesn't mask the flavor profile. Besides the usual rum and cola, try mixing with tropical juices. Mango juice goes really well together with this rum. If you want a rum to enjoy neat or on the rocks I suggest the Havana Club Reserva, however myself and my friends both agree the rum just doesn't taste the same as buying it in Cuba. Perhaps it has to do with how stores store it. The blanco should be fine, since it really isn't aged for very long, which isn't always a bad thing, depending on your tastes. ...I went on holiday to San Pedro de Alacantara several years ago and stayed in the hotel Cortijo Blanco. It was a hotel we had seen on TV Travel Shop, as it was one of their top 10 holiday destinations. LOCATION The hotel is situated in the small spanish village of san pedro de alacantara, which as said by the holiday rep is "untouched by tourism, other than the McDnalds!". The village is around a 15 minute walk from the hotel, however within only a 5 minute walking distance, within sort of a mini village there are some small shops and bars as well as a little supermarket. In the village there are shops and bars and it has to be said that some of the tapas bars there are amongst the best I have been in, and well worth a try. I laugh every time I watch it!

Advantages: Great acting, Great timing, Great writing
Disadvantages: Don't be silly!

...as they think that they have an easy life Mr MacKay returns having only been away on a training course. Episode Four ? No Peace For The Wicked Fletcher really wants to be on his own for a bit of peace and quiet but he keeps getting disturbed by people trying to get him to join in with various games or hobbies. Watch out for David Jason as Blanco with Muffin the Mule. Episode Five ? Happy Release This is one of the funniest episodes ever. When Fletcher is in the infirmary having broken his ankle he gets chatting to Blanco in the next bed who tells him how Norris in the bed opposite has fiddled him out of his only possessions. Fletcher and Blanco hatch a brilliant plan to get them back. I won?t say any more as the twist at the end made me laugh till I cried the first time I saw it! Episode Six ? The Harder They Fall...

He seemed to be the only gay in the prison! A wonderful gentle character who starred in many, many scenes with Fetch and Godber. The butt of many gay jokes, well it was an unenlightened 1973 onwards. Old Blanco played by David Jason Originally convicted for the murder of his wife but as it turned out after being pardoned he in fact did not kill his wife! He killed her lover instead! A great character and superbly played by Jason Harry Grout played by Peter Vaughan ?Genial? Harry Grout actually ran Slade prison although the Governor thought he did?
