...I'm sure just about everyone has heard of the name Memorex, though most likely due to the never ending need for good quality hi-fi or video cassettes. Well, there's now also a variety of CD media available from the same makers. Ever since I brought my first CD Writer, I have been plagued with an array of problems, the first being, "Please insert a disk with more space", or something very similar dependent upon the software I use at any given time. The second problem, and this one is a real pain, "BUFFER UNDERRUN ERROR". At one point I was wasting blank media like there's no tomorrow, but as time and experience showed, it all came down to inadequate quality of the media itself. Point Blank - shooting game for the Nintendo DS

Advantages: Fun for a while
Disadvantages: Not enough long-term depth

...Point Blank is a game for the Nintendo DS. The game is based on the arcade game where you can play forty mini games relating to shooting. Although there are a few 3D levels, the game is primarily viewed in 2D. There are five different modes in the game, with four different difficulty levels and with forty mini games to complete. The game is played using the stylus, which is very effective when selecting items which you want to use your weapons on. It's a much better way of playing games such as this than on other consoles, and I found actually playing the game very easy and comfortable. The different games are all based on similar themes, ie, using the stylus to select items. Review of Point Blank (Nintendo DS)

Memorex CDR 80. Simply the best.

Advantages: Good quality recording, low failure rate, cheap
Disadvantages: No boxes

.... Not healthy methinks. They also have a higher tendency to go wrong during recording. The Memorex CD's arent like this. They are solid in recording. My CD Writer writes all the way up to the dizzy heights of 8 speed and have only lost 2 Memorex CDs ever while recording in well over 100. This compares to a loss rate of nearly 50% on the PC world Discs. The Sony ones and even the Kodak ones were good but not as good as this. The rason they lost out were to the Third reason I choose Memorex. The Price. The price of a spindle of 50 Blank Memorex Disc of 80 minutes each is £19.99 Thats the same as the own brand PC World discs and they are only 74 minutes blanks. They dont come with boxes but what do you want for your money. If you dont know where to get them from , I can point you towards a good distributor...

The Music Live At The Blank Canvas

Advantages: High-energy groove-dance-rock-funk music - fantastic band!
Disadvantages: Mostly their old stuff - I'd like to hear some of their new songs live.

...This DVD is of Northern funksters The Music at their 2003 tour's homecoming gig at The Blank Canvas, Leeds. Through the clouds of smoke (dry ice?), coloured lights and oceans of waving arms and flailing crowd-surfers, we see the young dance-rock crew struttin' their groovy stuff across the stage. The first thing that struck me (as I have never seen them live before... hopefully I'll get to see them one day...) was how much their songs sounded like the studio versions: I'd always thought that a lot of the sounds on their debut album "The Music" required assistance from drum machines, synths, keyboards etc., but they don't. The Music manage to get futuristic dance music out of 4 boys with guitars! DAMN, These Things Don't Work.

Advantages: Memorex rules: They produce affordable, high-quality discs.
Disadvantages: Most other brands just don't do it for me.

...I'm sure that everyone who has owned or used a CD-R or CD-RW drive is familiar with some of the following profanities: "Dammit, there's not enough buffer space!" "The disc won't finalize!" Or, my personal favorite: "I bought twenty of these discs and only THREE of them work?!" You see, shopping for CD-R or CD-RW discs is the same as shopping for blank cassette tapes was back in the day. Some are going to be more expensive, some will be the store brand, and some will be disgustingly inexpensive - but oddly enough, the medium-priced brands will generally work the best. I used to do a lot of home recording with blank audio cassettes, and paid quite a bit over the years for various brands. The store brands were generally not worth a crap, as they either cut the data short, had horrible background noise, or wore out...

The cheapest reliable 80min blanks

Advantages: cheap, 80 min capacity
Disadvantages: -

...Whilst I have found that for price for 650Mb/74 min CD blanks, that it is hard to beat Platinum CD blanks (see review on them), I have found that for 80 minute blanks Tevion CDR blanks are pretty hard to beat. I have found cheaper than these - they cost £3.99 for 10 in Aldi in Britain last time I was over there, and recently retailing at ATS 74.90 (that's about £3.40) in my Hofer (supermarket), but the other unbranded 80 min CDs were so unreliable, that I was finding I was making coasters the whole time. As it is 4 quid for 10 CD blanks is certainly not bad, when I think that in 1998 I used to pay over £1 a blank for unbranded ones that you couldn't burn at anything above quad speed (even this was not adviseable!). ...I recently managed to fill up my 80GB Hard drive with all sorts of rubbish and needed some CD's to store my information on. Usually I would buy them from Tesco's, but as I was In a hurry I popped into my local computer retailer (Northbridge Computers in Lowestoft) to see what he had available. All he had on this occassion was TDK CD-R80 discs. There was single CD's in cases, boxs of ten in cases and spindles of twenty-five and one hundred. I plummeted for the spindle of twenty-five as I wasn't rich enough at the time to buy the big fat one hundred spindle. ***Product*** The disc's themselves are light blue with a silver swirl on it. TDK CD-R80 is clearly stamped on it. There is plenty of room to write on them and they can store up to 700MB of data or 80 minutes recording time. They are ideal for backing up files, pictures, photos...

...This is a film I love and when I say I love it I really mean I LOVE THIS FILM!. I have seen it now around 10 times and I'm sure I will continue to watch it and love it for years to come. The film is based around the central character of Martin Blank (John Cusack) who is a hit man with issues, these issues revolve around his relationship with Debi his child hood sweet heart that he jilted at the school prom. billy blanks tae bo

Advantages: will make you sweat, quite easy to understand
Disadvantages: looking at tv as his left is your right

...Have been wanting to try billy blanks workout dvd's for a long time so decided to look on amazon and got it for 3.95. I thought since so cheap might aswell give it a go. Tae bo blends your own hidden strength with moves from self-defence, dance and boxing. This dvd contains two parts, instructional and tae bo basics. The best way is do the instructional part first for a few times to get use to the moves which are quite hard to master. Billy is a good instructor and you warm to his personality very quickly, he shows you the best way to stand, how to position your arms to punch and legs to kick correctly so you do not hurt yourself. The main part of the dvd is only about 20 minutes long but my god you sweat it combines what you have learnt from the instructional part of this dvd with fast moves.
