Blaupunkt Canberra C31

Advantages: Excellent radio both at FM & AM
Disadvantages: Tape player (No CD)

...this blaupunkt car radio has an excellent radio front end at both FM & (mostly) AM! Its ability to receive AM (MW) radio broadcasts with the usual very short FM whip antennas that are commonly found at newer cars, is a real plus! And the sound on AM isn't bad at all. It does have a good AM IF bandwidth filter probably, that allow you to listen good sounded AM stations, with a quality (at least an AM quality that most newer radios doesn't provide for the forgotten ? MW band), while keeping the selectivity needed for first adjacent channel intereference out. A better noise blanker filter, or a faster AGC wil help a little at city terrains where the manmade static noises are higher! For FM the sound is good (take in account the overcompressed FM modulated signals that most stations have now) and its sensitivity is good enough to get...

Blaupunkt TravelPilot in Fords

Advantages: An idea if you really don't know the area.
Disadvantages: Limited, outdated mapping, not so easy to use

...In our brand new Fiesta, delivered this month, the Blaupunkt TravelPilot comes fitted in a unit combined with the radio. To try this system out, over a period of three weeks, and a total of about 600 miles, entirely within my home county of West Yorkshire, i ran the TravelPilot alongside my own local knowledge of the area built up over 17 years of driving around the area. To enter a destination it is necessary to go through a menu and a series of entries not wholly unlike entering a text message on a mobile phone. There is a form of predictive texting, which can be quite useful. The problem I found, though, was that before I could find the way to, say, Huddersfield Police Station I needed to know what road it is in. There seems to be no provision for places like hospitals or police stations as destinations. Back to the Ato...

Blaupunkt TravelPilot Lucca 3.5 Edition : Stylish and functional.

Advantages: Lots of features.
Disadvantages: Takes a minute to pick up a signal.

... Good package *This satnav has a picture viewer and an MP3 player. Unfortunately no bluetooth. *The speed camera locations are included without a warning sound, some other products only offer this as a subscription service. You can set it to sound a warning tone if you exceed the prevailing speed ( displayed on screen ) in a 40 or 50 zone, but not in a 30 zone. It also has a speed and altitude indicator. *You can search for points of interest like hospitals, shops, parking, train stations etc. *You can search by postcode or street address, but it wont tell you the postcode if you only have the street name ( unlike a Tom Tom ). *Displays symbols for service stations, shops and underground, etc. These appear on the map with brand logos. eg: "M" for MacDonalds. *You can select Route options based...

DAB52 - Dont be blue...Spot the great features!

Advantages: neat, versatile unit, great DAB performance and MP3 playback, now cheaper
Disadvantages: occasionally skips o cheap MP3 CD's

...Blaupunkt - a name to get your teeth round !! I bought this about 2 years ago as I knew the Company produced superb ICE units. I wanted DAB and the ability to play MP3 tracks - this unit gave me all this and a lot more besides. Appearance - pleanty of bright lights and a permanently moving graphic equaliser on the display sit between the two main control clusters. The graphic EQ can be turned off in Menu options and the whole display has different brightness levels so you will always find one to suit. The top of the display gives information about the audio source. For radio broadcasts, that means radio channel for FM/MW/LM (yes...all three wavebands) or the DAB channel name and the scrolling information feed if you are using the DAB channel. If using CD then the track number is displyed together with a time counter, and for MP3 you...

San Remo CD34 - Style, Performance AND subtlety?

Advantages: Panel Release - Lots of Features - Great Price
Disadvantages: Screen susceptible to Glare.

...purchased a small cable from Blaupunkt for about £5, which plugs into the rear of the unit. Simply tuck the cable carefully around your dashboard so it pops out the front somewhere and plug in to your MP3 player. Although it doesn't support changing tracks from the front panel of the unit, it offers an inexpensive and uncomplicated solution to releasing your iPod in your car! The slot at the rear of the unit for the MP3 cable can also be used to cable up a CD changer if you decide to add one later! As mentioned above, the only possible downside to this unit is the glare in the sun. If the sun shines directly on the front panel, the white display becomes hard to read, although I'm sure this is the same for other white-on-black head units! All in all, a superb CD Head-Unit for your car - Looks great, sounds great and with minimum fuss...

Review of Blaupunkt SAN REMO

Just cop a feel of its rubbery knobs

Advantages: Very powerful, great quality sound, simplified features
Disadvantages: Menu can be a bit fiddly, slow to return the CD from its' slot

....caraudiodirect.com. I actually bought the stereo just after Christmas when the New Year Sales had started, as I wanted to ensure that I was getting a good deal (I'm a true bargain hunter!). At that time, there was a plethora of budget-range car stereos on the market - I'd narrowed my choice down to a JVC, Clarion or Blaupunkt – all of whom were offering their single CD radios through websites or car part stores (Halfords and Charlie Browns spring to mind) for around the £100 mark. So what made me choose the Blaupunkt over the other models? In a word: simplicity. Now I don't know about other drivers, but I like a car stereo that's simple. I don't want to be in traffic and fiddling to find the radio button. If someone's talking to me, I don't want to have to spend five minutes trying to turn the stereo down. If I don't like a track, I don...

Good unit with Bluetooth, USB & Aux connectivity

Advantages: Bluetooth & Aux
Disadvantages: Looks & difficult to use

...As I have a small car and I am the only person driving it, I decided to get only front speakers. My set up is Hamburg MP57, Blaupunkt Amplifier (90w * 2) with Infinity reference 6020. I am pretty happy with my sound and usually people get amazed when they come to know that I only have front speakers - many people in fact think I have a sub woofer. The system has pretty useful features - you can use it has bluetooth handsfree, which is quite cool and works well - the mic is quite powerfull - even people sitting in the rear seat can speak and the person at the other end has excellent quality. It also has a aux in and a USB conectivity. It has preout for all four speakers apart from the sub out. I tried connecting my friends Nokia N72 and the system was able to play all the songs from the phone - the only issue us you cannot sort the songs...

Budget price not budget sound

Advantages: Sounds Superb and the price is right.
Disadvantages: Looks like its made from plastacine.

...Summary... It's bottom of their range and it costs £135 (RRP 169 -see below) BUT... It's an extremely good, fully functional RDS radio and CD player It's got 4 x 25Watts of good sounding power (40W MPS) The obligatory Removeable front panel Dual colour display and an Optional remote and most of the trimmings... This is the second Blaupunkt I've owned -the first I sadly sold in another car. And they really are extremely good. I'm not a believer in German efficiency (having worked there!) but Blaupunkt are a stunning example of how to make electronics. The unit i've got always reads ALL of my CD's 1st time(including burnt ones), rarely skips (and I drive a mini), and sounds superb, (I'm an acoustic engineer!) Against it are its plastacine-legoland looks. Very important to the boy racer to have pretty coloured...

Are you on the road to nowhere?

Advantages: direct replacement for your old head unit..removable front panel, great sound quality.
Disadvantages: not portable..costs to refit in another car...not a D,I,Y job,...

...Well if you are,Maybe you should think about getting yourself a sat nav system for your car!! I have a stretched limousine company, which i have run for around 3 1/2 years now, anyway after some thought i took the plunge, and had sat nav systems fitted in them both..i was looking to help my drivers get to their destinations easy and quickly, with at the same time saving money on fuel bills when they did go wrong! After a look around, I went for the Blaupunkt Travel Pilot DXR52,In satin black(as it matched the limos interior) I found it a fair price,£750 fitted at the time...with all the features i was looking for..(not that i knew that much about them!) SATIN BLACK (ALSO IN SILVER) FM,MW,LW, WITH 30 PRESETS, PLAYS CD'S,CD ROM.. (SINGLE CD), AUTOSOUND (GALA), 4V FOUR CHANNEL PREAMP, FIXING CAGE, WITH RELEASE KEYS...
