Blaupunkt TravelPilot in Fords
Review of Blaupunkt Travel Pilot DX-N by
KenW
Advantages: An idea if you really don't know the area.
Disadvantages: Limited, outdated mapping, not so easy to use
...In our brand new Fiesta, delivered this month, the Blaupunkt TravelPilot comes fitted in a unit combined with the radio.
To try this system out, over a period of three weeks, and a total of about 600 miles, entirely within my home county of West Yorkshire, i ran the TravelPilot alongside my own local knowledge of the area built up over 17 years of driving around the area.
To enter a destination it is necessary to go through a menu and a series of entries not wholly unlike entering a text message on a mobile phone. There is a form of predictive texting, which can be quite useful.
The problem I found, though, was that before I could find the way to, say, Huddersfield Police Station I needed to know what road it is in. There seems to be no provision for places like hospitals or police stations as destinations.
Back to the AtoZ to get...

Are you on the road to nowhere?
Review of Blaupunkt Travelpilot DXR52 by
general01
Advantages: direct replacement for your old head unit..removable front panel, great sound quality.
Disadvantages: not portable..costs to refit in another car...not a D,I,Y job,...
...Well if you are,Maybe you should think about getting yourself a sat nav system for your car!!
I have a stretched limousine company, which i have run for around 3 1/2 years now, anyway after some thought i took the plunge, and had sat nav systems fitted in them both..i was looking to help my drivers get to their destinations easy and quickly, with at the same time saving money on fuel bills when they did go wrong!
After a look around, I went for the Blaupunkt Travel Pilot DXR52,In satin black(as it matched the limos interior) I found it a fair price,£750 fitted at the time...with all the features i was looking for..(not that i knew that much about them!)
SATIN BLACK (ALSO IN SILVER)
FM,MW,LW, WITH 30 PRESETS,
PLAYS CD'S,CD ROM.. (SINGLE CD),
AUTOSOUND (GALA),
4V FOUR CHANNEL PREAMP,
FIXING CAGE, WITH RELEASE KEYS,

Blaupunkt Canberra C31
Review of Blaupunkt Canberra C31 by
Pdmtr
Advantages: Excellent radio both at FM & AM
Disadvantages: Tape player (No CD)
...this blaupunkt car radio has an excellent radio front end at both FM & (mostly) AM! Its ability to receive AM (MW) radio broadcasts with the usual very short FM whip antennas that are commonly found at newer cars, is a real plus! And the sound on AM isn't bad at all. It does have a good AM IF bandwidth filter probably, that allow you to listen good sounded AM stations, with a quality (at least an AM quality that most newer radios doesn't provide for the forgotten ? MW band), while keeping the selectivity needed for first adjacent channel intereference out. A better noise blanker filter, or a faster AGC wil help a little at city terrains where the manmade static noises are higher!
For FM the sound is good (take in account the overcompressed FM modulated signals that most stations have now) and its sensitivity is good enough to get...

Another really satisfied owner
Review of Peugeot 306 1.4 by
mbsnet
Advantages: Everything, superb handling
Disadvantages: No air conditioning or ABS
...Having read all the reviews, I decided to add my comment. I owned a 306 1.4LX R reg(97) for about 2 years (bought in Feb. 2002) and I can honestly say that it has been the most reliable car I've had. Incidently I've "upgraded" to a 306 1.8 Meridian as I like the 306 so much.
The good points:
Wonderfully comfortable both for driving and travelling in. It has been remarked by people who've travelled with me "how comfortable" it is.
Handling - With the power steering and suspension it takes corners with ease even at high speeds. Having driven a firend's Corsa which felt as though it would roll over unless you took corners gently, I am well impressed.
Electric windows, electric sunroof, control for the Blaupunkt CD player on the steering column. All controls in easily locatable positions.
Economical - I found I could get at least 450...

My own little car...
Review of Peugeot 206 1.1 by
casper51
Advantages: sporty looks, good MPG
Disadvantages: 'niggling' interior defects
...to transport larger objects, excellent quality Blaupunkt standard r/c player and remote central locking.
However, I have noticed a few little niggly things wrong with the interior of the car. And it seems they are all common 206/Peugeot faults.
The driver's seat adjuster, which allows back seat passengers to get in, quickly snapped off (on closer inspection it seems it had been poorly repaired for the dealer's forecourt). The seat itself will not lock in a position other than partly reclined, which can prove to be uncomfortable on long journeys, so I have invested in a cushion. Both the driver's and front passenger's seats slip forward on harsh braking (hence the satisfactory rating on safety), which frightened the living hell out of my boyfriend the first time he sat in it. Of course, he blamed my driving and not the car!!
Sometimes it's hard...

Excellent value package
Review of Clarion DXZ748RMP by
alan_amy140
Advantages: Cool display, solid feel, motorized front panel, remote, Sound quality
Disadvantages: Stereo imaging not the best, not good with female vocals
...positive and most people liked the clarity this unit and other Clarions produce. I am one of the people that liked the sound of the Clarion. Ever since installing my first Blaupunkt radio I've always been a fan so it has been hard to change to other brands. However over the past few years the build quality of Blaupunkt has taken a serious dive and the aesthetics are much to be desired, so I decided to try a Clarion.
I was like a kid waiting for the Clarion DXZ748RMP to arrive, and when it did I installed it in record time, I think It was up and running within 5 minutes! Well it took me the best part of 2 hours to figure out how to use all the controls and adjust the sound to my liking, and initially I was impressed with the results. I can tell you straight off that the Clarion is no match for the Blaupunkt sonically, and I'll explain why...

Good unit with Bluetooth, USB & Aux connectivity
Review of Blaupunkt Hamburg MP 57 by
sforsuresh
Advantages: Bluetooth & Aux
Disadvantages: Looks & difficult to use
...As I have a small car and I am the only person driving it, I decided to get only front speakers. My set up is Hamburg MP57, Blaupunkt Amplifier (90w * 2) with Infinity reference 6020. I am pretty happy with my sound and usually people get amazed when they come to know that I only have front speakers - many people in fact think I have a sub woofer. The system has pretty useful features - you can use it has bluetooth handsfree, which is quite cool and works well - the mic is quite powerfull - even people sitting in the rear seat can speak and the person at the other end has excellent quality. It also has a aux in and a USB conectivity. It has preout for all four speakers apart from the sub out. I tried connecting my friends Nokia N72 and the system was able to play all the songs from the phone - the only issue us you cannot sort the songs...

Budget price not budget sound
Review of Blaupunkt Lausanne CD31 by
miggle
Advantages: Sounds Superb and the price is right.
Disadvantages: Looks like its made from plastacine.
...Summary...
It's bottom of their range
and it costs £135 (RRP 169 -see below)
BUT...
It's an extremely good, fully functional RDS radio and CD player
It's got 4 x 25Watts of good sounding power (40W MPS)
The obligatory Removeable front panel
Dual colour display and an Optional remote and most of the trimmings...
This is the second Blaupunkt I've owned -the first I sadly sold in another car. And they really are extremely good. I'm not a believer in German efficiency (having worked there!) but Blaupunkt are a stunning example of how to make electronics.
The unit i've got always reads ALL of my CD's 1st time(including burnt ones), rarely skips (and I drive a mini), and sounds superb, (I'm an acoustic engineer!)
Against it are its plastacine-legoland looks. Very important to the boy racer to have pretty coloured lights flashing all...

A City car for all occasions
Review of Fiat Panda 2003 by
piyuz
Advantages: "CITY" driving mode; Price; Fuel Efficiency; Handling; Space; Driving Position
Disadvantages: No in-car controls for opening boot, Petrol Tank capacity
.... In the first instance, the pick up was fantastic. Coming out of red light crossings, I always find myself ahead of the pack despite other cars carrying a much heavier engine than a 1.2.
So overall, the driving position, the comfortable and very smooth gearbox which feels like it's magnetised such that gears kind of force themselves into place, and the perfect balance between car weight and engine size result in a pleasurable ride. Add to that the Blaupunkt sound system that came with the car, alongwith lots of space for shopping and more if you fold down the rear seats (very easily done), and you're in car paradise. These would have been enough for me to be satisfied with this purchase.
But there's more. THE one thing that really makes the new Fiat Panda stand out is the "City" driving mode. There's a little button below the air vents, it says...
