Blaupunkt TravelPilot in Fords

Advantages: An idea if you really don't know the area.
Disadvantages: Limited, outdated mapping, not so easy to use

...In our brand new Fiesta, delivered this month, the Blaupunkt TravelPilot comes fitted in a unit combined with the radio. To try this system out, over a period of three weeks, and a total of about 600 miles, entirely within my home county of West Yorkshire, i ran the TravelPilot alongside my own local knowledge of the area built up over 17 years of driving around the area. To enter a destination it is necessary to go through a menu and a series of entries not wholly unlike entering a text message on a mobile phone. There is a form of predictive texting, which can be quite useful. The problem I found, though, was that before I could find the way to, say, Huddersfield Police Station I needed to know what road it is in. Are you on the road to nowhere?

Advantages: direct replacement for your old head unit..removable front panel,great sound quality.
Disadvantages: not portable..costs to refit in another car...not a D,I,Y job,...

...,and also a clear easy to read screen,which constantly points you in the right direction ...also the blaupunkt travelpilot shows the time of arrival of your journey,which is very usefull as well as mileage left to go on your trip..counting down as you get nearer to your destination.. The travelpilot is also ideal for finding petrol stations,airports..town centres,places of interest anywhere! it has memory for our favourite/last journeys too! the traffic message channel keeps you informed of any delays ahead,while the sat nav system will reroute your journey to the best possible route! all at the press of a button! YOU CAN AVOID TOLLS IF YOU WISH..not allways possible i'm sure,but nice to have the option ...Both my drivers like the systems,and get on well with them.Even though,i have heard on the odd occastion,that they have got abit confused...

Simply the best - DX4450

Advantages: Superb print quality for an inkjet printer
Disadvantages: Can be a little noisy.

...I've only ever had a non-Epson printer once and I'll never be doing that again, so when I went out to choose a new printer Epson was my first choice. After much deliberation the printer I eventually choice was the Epson DX4450. Once I got it home and unpacked it, I set about connecting it to me computer expecting the process to take quite a while. I was pleasantly surprised as from unpacking to printing the first document it only took about 20 minutes. Fantastic. When the document had printed I was also exceptionally pleased with the print quality which was far better than I have ever had with my other printers in the past. Being impressed I decided to print a colour document (the first had been black and white) to see how this fared. Again the print quality was excellent and better still the paper was feeding through correctly...

Its an all round great product, it has many different functions and features which will help any user along the way to making you pictures or images better and processing your paperwork quicker. Whilst using this printer I found that it was very easy to use from the very simple buttons that are on the top of the printer towards the left. All of the buttons are very easy to use and you really couldn't go wrong with it. The Epson DX4000 offers a complete printing and copying solution for all of the family. Its ideal for nearly everything. Its compatible with all applications and can be used for school projects, web designing, right down to photo printing. It can be used connected to your computer or you could use it as a standalone printer that allows you to copy documents...

Advantages: Excellent radio both at FM & AM
Disadvantages: Tape player (No CD)

...this blaupunkt car radio has an excellent radio front end at both FM & (mostly) AM! Its ability to receive AM (MW) radio broadcasts with the usual very short FM whip antennas that are commonly found at newer cars, is a real plus! And the sound on AM isn't bad at all. It does have a good AM IF bandwidth filter probably, that allow you to listen good sounded AM stations, with a quality (at least an AM quality that most newer radios doesn't provide for the forgotten ? MW band), while keeping the selectivity needed for first adjacent channel intereference out. A better noise blanker filter, or a faster AGC wil help a little at city terrains where the manmade static noises are higher! For FM the sound is good (take in account the overcompressed FM modulated signals that most stations have now) and its sensitivity is good enough to get...

Epson DX4450

Advantages: A good all round printer and scanner

...This is my third epson printer and the first one I have had that is a combination of scanner and printer. Both the prvious epsons were just printers. I was rather suprised by how big the DX4450 was, but then I was saving room by not having a seperate scanner. It looked quite stylish, black and silver so I decided to give it a go as it was nicely priced. I installed it without any difficulties, although, if it had been my first printer I might have had some problems, there were only brief written instructions accompanied by pictures. The ink cartridges were easy to install and I was up and running within about an hour of purchase. My first impression was reasonably good, although it was very noisy. Once it was actually printing it seemed quieter. I was quite suprised when the ink ran out after what seemed a very short period...
