...REVIEW OF TESCO BLEACH Household bleach or sodium hydrochloride, is a product we all know and have probably all used at some time or another. Bleach is one of those products that seems to have dropped out of fashion in recent years in favour of more environmentally friendly brands and fancier household cleaners. I am however rather old fashioned and do prefer to use bleach for a variety of household chores, as it is a versatile cleaner, whitener and germ killing fluid. In these days of financial crunch, I decided to shun the more expensive brand I usually purchase and tried Tesco's own brand of thin bleach. At 28p for 2 litres, it was almost £2 cheaper than my usual buy, a well known bleach which currently sells in Tesco for £2.21 for 2 litres! With this in mind, to be honest I didn't hold out much hope for the efficiency...

Bleach 16

Advantages: Bleach is a great manga with awesome art
Disadvantages: I always feel a bit cheated on the price!

...This is the 16th volume of the hit manga Bleach. Bleach is one of the top sellers in the manga world and is still going strong today. Review of Bleach: v. 16 - Tite Kubo

Bleach 15

Advantages: A great story and great art
Disadvantages: Too short for the money!

...The 15th volume from Tite Kubo's epic manga. The story picks up where it left off in the previous volume. The main character "Ichigo" spends most of the volume training to master a new power that will help him in his quest to save his friend Rukia. It does annoy me when the protagonist doesnt really do anything for a hundred or so pages but in Bleach it is different. There are many other battles going on through the story and the other characters are popular enough to maintain an interesting story. Ther is some great animation in this book. The battles seem to fly out of the page being wild and exadurated. Detail is retained however and it is a really impressive thing to see. I can only imagine how difficult it is to draw someone getting more powerful. This series centers around people gaining new levels of strength and speed...

A bleach that really works

Advantages: hasnt got that bleachy smell

...At night when everyone has gone to bed and the chances are lower for anyone using the toilet is when I like to put bleach/toilet cleaner down the toilet. Basically because it gives it more time to work. During the day if you go to clean it in our home anyway, the minute you put the bleach down someone wants to go and it makes it a waste of time even thinking of doing the job. Life's a bleach

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

...I am a lazy cow when it comes to housework - I take the minimalist ethos and do what needs to be done and no more. I am however a bit anal about cleanliness being a nurse and love a bit of bleach to make me feel like those bugs are at bay. I used to stick thin bleach down the loo most days but a couple of months ago thought I would try a bleach block instead. I bought Jeye's Triple Action Parozone Bleach block (50g) for 68p in Wilkinson's - it probably does not come any cheaper than that. It is called triple action because: 1) it claims to kill germs 2) it claims to prevent limescale 3) it cleans and foams. I can verify that it foams. Germs, well the little blighters are usually microscopic so I presume that even if they were neuked I wouldn't know for sure unless I got a microscope under the ring. Which I am not prepared...

I opened up the tub, and there was a large tub of the creme bleach, the accelerator powder, a spatula, a little mixing board, and some instructions. So good so far. There was all the usual stuff about performing a test on your skin- and maybe I was a little (okay a LOT) stupid not to do this, as I have extremley sensitive skin. Advantages: Good bleaching when left on for noted time.
Disadvantages: Can burn and cause irritation.

...I purchased my first set of Jolen Creme Bleach after it took me half an hour to build up the courage and will power to yank a wax strip from my upper lip! I bought the mild formula with Aloe Vera, as I have sensitive skin (therefore waxing also left my upper lip red for hours, even when I applied a cold compress immediately afterwards). At first I was quite perplexed by having to mix up the accelerator and bleach myself, and carried out the test patch on the inside of my arm. What I hadn't accounted for was that it would also bleach my gradual tanning moisturiser! So I ended up with a lovely white patch (luckily on the inside of my arm, where no-one really looks anyway). Bleaching the upper lip and... other areas!

Advantages: Lightens hair safely and effectively

...I have been using the sensitive formula Jolen cream bleach to lighten dark hair on my upper lip and 'snail trail' (belly area) for at least six months; so far I have been very pleased with my experiences. It's very embarrassing to have to do such a thing, however I think it's worth it. For the past month or so I have also been using it as a gentler way to bleach my 'down there' hair - which has been surprisingly successful! Some Tips Inside the box is everything you'll need to get started: a mixing tray, spatula, creme bleach pot and accelerator powder.
