Advantages: Flavorful tea especially blended for soft water
Disadvantages: Difficult to procure (in the States, that is), short of a trip to Scotland

Hmmmm, well, I grant that most places I've visited in Scotland have wonderfully soft and pleasant-tasting water. Still and all, we also have very nice soft water in my little corner of America. We don't, however, have ready access to Scottish Blend tea. Fortunately, this particular problem is easy to solve--just fly off to Scotland often enough to keep a ready supply on hand! (Failing that, Scottish Blend can sometimes be found in the States at specialty shops stocking UK foodstuffs.) You may think I'm jesting with this flippant remark about flying off to Scotland. It's all in the BLEND

Advantages: Taste, quality, versatility
Disadvantages: Price, can disolve badly

...Having a Baileys & coffee last night (see Baileys op coming VERY soon) I realised I've not yet done an op on my favourite thing in the world (well, nearly) - Nescafe Gold Blend. :o) And it's unfortunate for Marks wallet that my favourite thing in the world is one of the most expensive instant coffee's on the market. And I drink a lot of coffee......... I usually put the cost of the product at the end of the op but the sheer cheek of Nescafe for charging £3.59 for a 200g jar of coffee has forced the pricing details to the top of the op! Standard Nescafe is around £2.69 for 200g and I'm probably just moody because I buy 2 jars a week (heaving the shopping bill up by £7) but it seems a huge price increase when Nescafe is known as one of the best coffee manufacturers anyway! ...During a recent shopping trip I reached for my staple coffee brand of Douwe Egberts, only to notice that Nescafe Gold Blend happened to be on sale, so in the basket it went. The first thing I need to point out was that it was great value for money. It was approximately half the price of the Douwe Egberts, but then it won't always be on sale. In my opinion the taste wasn't too bad, but clearly was not up to the standards of my usual cuppa. I found it was relatively weak tasting, and was not as smooth.I thought it was quite bland, it had little depth and flavour. Overall I found the Nescafe Gold Blend O.K, but it ceretainly will not replace the Douwe Egberts in my house....

Nescafe Gold Blend - Simply the Best!

...I am not a big coffee drinker, I tend to prefer a cup of tea to drink but once in a while I do go through a coffee phase. Having just parted with £4.18 for a 200g jar of Nescafe Gold Blend at my local Asda I am thankful that these phases don?t usually last very long. So why you may ask did I part with so much of my hard earned cash on this particular product. Well as I say I?m not a big coffee drinker so hopefully this jar should last me quite a long time. The reason for the choice of Nescafe Gold Blend was simple I have tried most of the cheaper brands out there, and in my opinion there is no comparison. The first thing that attracted me was the jar itself. It is quite a bulky, heavy glass jar with edges that curve inwards in the middle. ...Being a coffee drinker for many years I have tried a number of coffees but always return to Nescafe due to the fact it is a good quality brand at low prices. Having tried many expensive coffee brands, to me the difference in price is not worth it when Nescafe is a good all-rounder as far as instant coffee goes. This variety of the brand is called Nescafe FineBlend which has been lightly roasted for a smooth and gentle taste. The coffee that I am reviewing is the 100g jar and in my case has a printed label of special price 99p. So I think brilliant ! a nice small jar for work at 99p and bought it. ~ The Jar ~ Standard glass jar with the usual format for Nescafe of a mug sat on a bed of coffee beans with steam emanating from the mug to give you the impression of a nice warm cuppa. ...Nescafe Gold Blend decaffinated coffee is a rich smooth blend that tastes just as good as all the other Necafe coffee range. I started to use thid when i began the Atkins diet as you are not allowed caffine. I found this coffee a good alternative than other decaffinated coffes as it tasted just the same, although giving up caffine is very hard as it gave me a headache for two weeks because of caffine withdrawall. Nescafe decaffinated coffee has a good taste, no bitter after taste, and tastes just as good as my normak nescafe which was a nice supprise.
