...Blood Brothers is a fantastic musical that has been around for over 20 years and is still as popular as ever. I have now seen it 5 times and cant wait to go again its that good. Book, lyrics and music are all by Willy Russell. Plot is centred around the working class Johnstone family with Mrs Johnstone becoming a single parent quite soon into the story as her husband leaves her with a brood of children. To feed her family Mrs Johnstone gets a job at the upper class Lyons household as a cleaner and is a big hit. Soon after she realises she is pregnant with twin boys and cant possibly afford to bring up another two children. Mrs Lyons however is desperate for a child and unable to get pregnant so offers to 'buy the baby. Reluctantly Mrs Johnson agrees and the deal is done. You need to know about my Brothers Blood...

Advantages: An assortment of amazing tracks
Disadvantages: A couple of not so amazing tracks

He has played in a couple of bands since graduated from university in 2001, and built up popularity doing open mic nights when he was studying. Although he is pretty unknown still (bet you haven?t heard of him?) he has managed to build up a large fan base through his exposure with Brand New, having supported them numerous times. Blood Brothers

Advantages: Strong cast, effective use of tension, well organised
Disadvantages: Length, some ideas not fully explored, repetitive at times.

...of treble, which assaulted the ears of the audience at times. This high treble needed to be lower as some of the middle was washed out. Blood Brothers featured a familiar beat throughout. One noticeable beat was the one just after Mrs Johnston would say ?Like Marilyn Monroe.? This beat was most effective and gave a good upbeat to the soundtrack and the events happening on stage. This beat was even given a mellow mix at one time when its use was not intended to give an upbeat. This timed mellow mix helped create the idea of sadness to the audience and was well thought out. There was a variety of Songs, some were a little repetitive like Mrs Johnston?s ?We would go dancing?. While these were entertaining at first, the continued use of the format let the singing side down a little. The Narrator?s song was always well sung with great impact...

...This is a flm only review and is not about the DVD. Four Brothers is an excellent gritty film that I watched on Film 4 a couple of nights ago, it has a strong cast and a pretty good story line that focuses on family relationships and the quest for revenge. The four brothers in the title are all adopted and are bought back together to the city of Detroit one winters day for the funeral of their foster mother who provided them with a loving home and precious childhood memories in a rough working class area. The mother has been killed in a convenience store robbery while she was shopping for groceries and the thre of the brothers vow to get revenge despite the close attention of the local police to whome they are well known. ...Blood brothers has been on the GCSE syllabus now for how many years? And that?s how I first got introduced into the play so I read it over and over and over and over again so I'd like to say I know it pretty well, and I didn't get all that bored of it. The play begins with telling you the ending, believe it or not. It tells you that there were twins, one given away and one kept yet they both died on the same day. The narrator tries to tell us that Mrs Johnstone (the twins' mother) was cruel and heartless, yet we learn throughout the play that she is a sweet and caring mother that would never wish to hurt a fly. The beginning of the play really sets the mood telling us about Mrs Johnstone and how she became pregnant so often, and it also sets the light-hearted mood for the play. ...Blood Borothers has now been showing at the Phoenix Theatre for nearly 12 years and in my opinion is the best musical i have seen. I don't know a lot about theatre productions but i know when something is good. The Plot -------- I won't give away the main events of the story and the consequences incase you havn't seen the show, hopefully i will just inspire you to go and see it. Willy Russels objective when he wrote this play was to show up how adsurd the current system was and he did this is an excellent way. He showed up the differences between the classes using a satirical play. Willy Russel himself was a member of the lowqer class so he experienced what life would have been like. ...This is a great show for all the family and is another musical that left me in tears. The performances are brilliant and have some real stars in the making! The story is great and a real entertainer with it begin orginal and exciting. The songs are great and stay in the head for ages after - espceially if you get the CD!!!!!!!! I want to see this again as it was that good and there are not that many plays I can say that too. I see a lot of muscials a the west end and this is one of the best - but try not to see it at the matinee if you can especially if you want to avoid all those school parties!...

Advantages: Mindblowing action from beginning to end
Disadvantages: Lacks a little on replay value

...the game auto saves (no need for quick saving here), but it is literally just a second before you're right back up to speed, and it usually saves at the more quiet moments anyway. The sound in-game is superb. Real weapons-fire has been recorded, the voice acting has been done by professionals (Giovanni Ribisi, aka Phoebe?s odd brother from Friends being one such talent) and it?s all put to great effect. I'd thoroughly recommend a surround sound system if possible, as the directional awareness the sound delivers really works for you, and the general atmosphere. The control system is fairly easy to get to grips with (and customisable, of course), so I'm confident that even a newcomer to the genre could master the game in a short amount of time. ...With interest in Blood Brothers revived through the canny decision to cast Mel C in the role of Mrs Johnstone, I thought I'd pen some thoughts. I've seen the West End production an embarassing number of times now (well into the double digits!) and almost always, have had every emotional button pushed. More of a play with songs, than a musical, the show lacks the gloss of Wicked or the gasp inducing sets of Phantom. But what it does have is a very big heart and a story that shamelessly manipulates your emotions - and hoorah I say to that too.
