The Golden Circle map from Iceland's topographic survey organization shows the famous sites in country's most visited area, within easy reach from Reykjavik: Žingvellir National Park, the Blue Lagoon, Gullfoss waterfalls and Geysir hot springs. The map presents the area's road network, including unmaintained tracks, and indicates locations of fuel stations and fords across local rivers. The four main sites are prominently marked and a range of symbols highlight other places of interest and various facilities, including hotels and pensions, huts and lodges, campsites, emergency shelters, sport and recreational facilities, etc. The base map is contoured and carries an exceptional amount of topographic information shown by colouring and/or graphics, vegetation, lava zones, marshland and swamps, etc. Latitude lines are drawn at 15' intervals, with longitude at 20'. Map legend and brief descriptions of the four main sites include English. Since the administrative changes at the Icelandic survey organization, Landmęlingar Islands, the maps now show the brand name Feršakort.

Caribbean twist is available to buy from Asda either in store...

I booked my trip before I went via the Icelandair website, alongside my flights, hotel and other excursions. However it's also possible to book once you're in Iceland. The trip was run by Reykjavik Excursions but other companies also run tours here. My tour cost approximately £50 and this included entry to the Blue Lagoon and travel from...
Advantages: A unique experience; shallow so fine for non-swimmers Disadvantages: Expensive but worth it; shallow for swimmers; gets busy
...The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland?s most popular tourist attractions It?s a manmade outdoor bathing pool (I hesitate to call it a swimming pool because even at its deepest it?s still fairly shallow) and spa which uses the water from the nearby geothermal power plant at Svartsengi. Visiting the Blue Lagoon was top of my list of things I wanted to do in Iceland and there was no way I was going to...
