Pimping-out my BMW 318iS

Advantages: Amazing control/handling of car and begs to be upgraded (is well worth it)
Disadvantages: Need to upgrade a lot of different things, so have money saved/ready

...If you are going to buy this car, you need to know this: * The "i" in BMW 318iS stand for "injection" (which is good/new) * The "s" stands for "sport" * "Coupe" means "a fixed roof and 2 doors" My car's year: 1994 My mileage: 100,000 kilometers Engine: V6 - 1800cc Service problems: nothing major/expensive yet Original tires: Michellin "?" (15 X 7) Current tires: Pirelli "6000" (15 X 7) FEATURES: The convertibles are not worth buying, as they leak in water when it rains heavily. What is the point of having a roof if it leaks and can't be fixed. I also think the convertible roofs on the old 3 series bmw models look tacky. Much better to have a fixed roof and this car has a sun-roof anyway. But.... ELECTRIC...

BMW318iSE

Advantages: A prestigous car giving a feeling of safety and comfort. d
Disadvantages: Latest models not as well finished off as the earlier ones.

...My wife and I have owned a 3 series BMW since 1974. The first one was a 316i (1596cc)with manual gearbox. The car was completely reliable and very well made, and the paint finish was faultless. Servicing was every 6,000 miles, although perhaps more frequent than other cars at that time, the cost of the service was as cheap, perhaps cheaper than that of other foreign cars. The second BMW we bought, in August 1997, was a 318iSE (1796cc)with automatic gearbox, again completely reliable but the paint finish was showing signs of not being as well finished off as the previous model, especially around the wheel acrches, inner boot lid bonnet etc. The servicing intervals however were longer, every 8,000 miles and again the servicing price was competative, the BMW labour costs seemingly cheaper than those of a Ford garage. In September 2001 we...

BMW 325i convertable

Advantages: Fair price, electric roof, leather interior, CD player and, of course 'blindingly rapid'.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive parts, can tend to guzzle petrol depending on the speed.

...Two years ago my brother was serching for a car which had class, good looks, gave a good performance, a soft-top and space for his golf clubs. He found a mattalic purple BMW 325i convertable which gave him everything above. The only thing it didn't give him was the good performance - instead it's performance was excellent. The soft-top folded back itself - what would you expect? The car came with black leather interior, a CD player, alloy wheels, a standard BMW alarm system and lots more. Insurance can obviously be high for a quality motor as with the BMW 325i. If anyone was going to buy this car my advice to them would be that: *BMW parts can be expensive, although replica parts are available at a fraction of the cost. *It may be necessary to buy a wind-breaker, (which breaks the sometimes violent wind when the roof is down...

Could Be Better For The Money

Advantages: Good mpg, looks fantastic, feels just like a hardtop when the roof is up
Disadvantages: Storage, legroom and lack of power

...I have a 318Ci Sport E46 Cabriolet (2004). The car looks brilliant, even more so with the roof down, however, looks just a nice and sporty with the roof up. Safety. All in all the car is safe enough. It has a rollover protection system that will operate in the event that the wheels leave the road, these are situated behind the passenger headrests. And the front windscreen pillars are reinforced as well. Comfort. Not a lot of room, especially in the back, very cramped and not alot of storage space in the cabin, which tends to mean the door bins are always full. The boot is suprisingly deep and holds a lot. The sports seats are fully electric, with 3 memory settings, and heated, however, your outer thighs feel really cold against the unheated side cushions. The foot pedals are very close together in true BMW style, which...

HOW SENSIBLE CAN A CONVERTIBLE GET?

Advantages: Weather Proof. Engine. Fuel Economy. Style. Interior Space.
Disadvantages: Purchase Price.

...Please note that the photograph inserted by Ciao at the top of this page is NOT the car of the title - it is the very different last model, soft roof BMW 3-Series. I have published pictures of the latest model - that is, the car reviewed and which the title refers to. WHAT IS IT? The BMW 320d SE is a clever folding metal roof version of BMW's ever popular 3-Series. Particularly interesting in this case is that roof up, the styling is barely distinguishable from the conventional 3-Series Coupe model. The 3-Series has always been one of the more spacious, four seater convertibles, the folding metal roof does not change this, at 4.58 metres long and 1.985 wide, it is identical in size to Coupe model. WHICH SPECIFIC MODEL? The model reviewed here is the new four cylinder, 177bhp 320 diesel, in non-sporting SE trim. This...

BMW 330CI CONVERTABLE D/P

Advantages: looks
Disadvantages: fuel

...Brought this car six weeks ago and where do i start?. The power?,the looks?, or the relibilty of the car. The first thing that sold the car to me was when the sales man pushed the button on the key fob and the roof dropped down with out me being in the car, it also does this from quite a distance. I got the m-sport pack which does set the car off a treat. I get on the fuel economy approx 24-25 mpg on a run, i try to keep the at 40 mpg on the dash. This car is fast and in sports mode with the sequntial gears it does hold the road and keeps the power coming. The roof is great and not to bad on drop speed, can do this at lights if straight off, but dont do it if they change quick as you will feel a fool. The car does look great and drives excellent, with the roof down i have not gone for a wind deflector as why have a convertable...

BMW 320i soft top, A real drivers car.

Advantages: style, class, powerful and built to last.
Disadvantages: replacement parts can be expensive.

...As a qualified mechanic and the owner of god knows how many cars over the years I have decided the time has come to do an automobile review and what better to review than my one time pride and joy sadly no longer with me my BMW 320i convertible. I bought my BMW in 2003 it was 2 years old and set me back around 12 thousand pounds which was roughly half the cost of buying a new one and was at the time a very good deal. I fell in love with the car after one test drive and just had to have it. Although there have been many different versions of the 320i over the years with very different specs the one I bought was pretty top of the range and had the majority of extras available. I am of course reviewing the car from my own personal opinion so this review will contain information on the extras my BMW had but do not expect to find these...

Beem me up

Advantages: Build quality, driver enjoyment and strong resale values
Disadvantages: More expensive than some brands, lack of standard options

...BMW 318D M Sport Intending to replace our three year old Rav4 we were looking to dip our toe into the murky pool of the premium brand, junior executive range. In this class the choice comes down to four realistic options: the 3 Series BMW, Audi's A4, the Mercedes C-Class or the Lexus IS. This is one of the most fiercely contested markets which means there is excellent choice for the buyer. The A4 and C-Class have recently had new models released; this means that nearly new new models are priced quite high. It also means that there are good bargains to be had picking up nearly new older models, although that is what you'll get, an old model with the subsequent hit to resale values. The Lexus is slightly older but has held its value well and trades at slightly higher prices than the BMW, quite likely reflecting the better level...

Sexy Car!

Advantages: Fantastic in Summer. Looks great.
Disadvantages: Wind noise. inside temprature with roof up. Safety.

...Picture this...... You're driving through the countryside, roof down, not a care in the world. You have the love of your life beside you and you're cruising along listening to Steppenwolf "Born to be wild n the stereo". When a convertable car is driving down the road it instantly catches your eye. There's something about the lines and the way the person driving it seems to care about nothing... except for how cool they look with their shades on, one hand on the wheel, the other arm casually draped over the top of the door...... The BMW 3 series is no different. It simply looks amazing. It has a presance about it that ouzzes confidence in an elegant sort of way. Its the type of car you expect to see a property developer in. It breathes success. If that isn't enough for you, the 1.8i engine is smooth and boasts a beautifully...

Its a tidy Beemer

Advantages: Great looking car. Smooth ride
Disadvantages: Price. Room

.... The most famous of the shapes. The Coupe. The 2 door sporty model of the range. The Convertible. A soft top that offers an alternative to the coupe. The Touring. An estate for those that need a little more room. Most Companies offer entirely different models to cater for these requests. (i.e. Ford used to offer the Mondeo,Orion,Escort) BMW simply alter their shape slightly but rely on one standard car. It works for them and I think it is the best way to offer cars. My 3 Series is the 318 Ci Coupe. Let me tell you about it. Styling. -------- The appearance of the 318 Coupe is nothing if not startling. Benefiting highly from its total revamp just over 2 years ago, the coupe just oozes power. Look at it long enough and it might start growling. One thing that BMW have done to the 3 series is round off its early 90's edges that it...
