BMW 330CI CONVERTABLE D/P
Advantages: looks
Disadvantages: fuel
...Brought this car six weeks ago and where do i start?.
The power?,the looks?, or the relibilty of the car.
The first thing that sold the car to me was when the sales man pushed the button on the key fob and the roof dropped down with out me being in the car, it also does this from quite a distance. I got the m-sport pack which does set the car off a treat.
I get on the fuel economy approx 24-25 mpg on a run, i try to keep the at 40 mpg on the dash.
This car is fast and in sports mode with the sequntial gears it does hold the road and keeps the power coming.
The roof is great and not to bad on drop speed, can do this at lights if straight off, but dont do it if they change quick as you will feel a fool.
The car does look great and drives excellent, with the roof down i have not gone for a wind deflector as why have a convertable...

BMW 330 CI - Ultimate Driving Machine?
Advantages: Fast, silky engine, good looks.
Disadvantages: Expensive to buy, boot could be bigger
...I have a 52 plate 330CI which I have had from new. It's approaching it's 7th birthday, and in my opinion is a supurb machine. There was a few nigging faults when it was new, with the windows, quite a common problem, and the central locking has a fit every now and again. It has been through a couple of coil packs too, but they are quite cheap to replace.
Enough of the negative points, this car drives like a dream, fast, and responsive when you want. Plenty fast enough to have your partner shouting in your ear to slow down, when you see some open road, but a quiet comfortable cruiser on long motorway runs. It is pretty fuel efficient too. I often get mid 30's MPG on the motorway, and mid 20's around town. Lets not forget this is a 3 litre in-line 6 cylinder engine with 231 BHP and 300 NM torque, so if you are heavy with your...

BMW 330Ci Sport, with M3 body styling
Advantages: One word, German.
Disadvantages: Thirsty and not for the faint hearted, also, damned expensive!!!!!!
.... When I first bought the car (Mine is a 330Ci convertible with M3 body styling) there was a small rattle in the front left hand corner (where the roof meets the window) and like all rattles, it really annoyed me. But as I have driven the car further and faster, the rattle has gone, and the car has become much more smooth.
Reliability:
With age this car has become more reliable, even though mine is only a year old there is the whole BMW history behind it. From the first 3series until now, these cars have always been reliable, mainly because they are built and engineered in Germany. With this history behind them, it makes the 3Series one of the most reliable cars I have owned (and others will most definitely agree.
Comfort:
Ok, this car isn?t the largest in the world. The entire length is 4.48metres, and the width is only 1.75metres...

2001 BMW 330i SPORT M-Tech
Advantages: its amazing
Disadvantages: you spend to much time in it
...I have just purcahsed a BMW 330i sport M-tech and its awesome.
First the outside subtle sports detailing mean you stand out from the crowd and there are plenty of 3 series beemers around these days. If you want second takes then this is the model for you. Mine is a 2002 in silver.
Once you get over the gorgeous flared arches and the simple boot spoiler coupled with the agressive looking fornt you open the door. With the M-tech you step over the M badged door sill protectors and jump into gorgeous black leather sports seats. The door closes with and executive rasp as the air is squashed.
Once aboard you feel like you are in control the cockpit design means everything is aimed at pleasing one person, the driver. The finish is impecable with carbon fibre everywhere and simple delecate touches.
A twist of the key fires the 3Ltr...

BMW 325i convertable
Advantages: Fair price, electric roof, leather interior, CD player and, of course 'blindingly rapid'.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive parts, can tend to guzzle petrol depending on the speed.
...Two years ago my brother was serching for a car which had class, good looks, gave a good performance, a soft-top and space for his golf clubs. He found a mattalic purple BMW 325i convertable which gave him everything above. The only thing it didn't give him was the good performance - instead it's performance was excellent.
The soft-top folded back itself - what would you expect? The car came with black leather interior, a CD player, alloy wheels, a standard BMW alarm system and lots more.
Insurance can obviously be high for a quality motor as with the BMW 325i. If anyone was going to buy this car my advice to them would be that:
*BMW parts can be expensive, although replica parts are available at a fraction of the cost.
*It may be necessary to buy a wind-breaker, (which breaks the sometimes violent wind when the roof is down...

My missus got one!!!
Advantages: smooth ride, excellent road handling, effortless pace
Disadvantages: could have a bit more power
...Let me just start by saying that I dont actually own one. After wanting one for ages but never buying one my missus turned round to me and told me she was getting one!!!!! Hallelujah!!!!
What this basically means boys and girls is that she has all the costs and I spend the majority of the time driving us around in it. Basically a 330ci for free. Gosh I love that woman of mine!!!
Lets start with the facts first before I tell you what it is like owning such a fine piece of machinery.
The car has a 3 litre straight six engine developing in the region of 240 bhp. 0-60 is reached in just over 6 secs with 100 being reached in just under 17 secs. Top speed is 155mph. There is enough room for 4 adults or two adults and 3 children. The boot is massive. At christmas it took myself the missus, our luggage for a week and all the christmas...

Smooth, smooth, smooth
Advantages: Smooth engine, superb build, effortless performance without being a monster
Disadvantages: Can't afford one (yet)
...The other day I had a test drive in a shiny new 330Ci. It was stacked to the eyeballs with gadgets and extras, but I was interested in the engine.
Driving this car was quite amazing. The engine is so smooth and so quiet it is easy to go extremely quickly without realising it. The car I drove had BMW's automatic Steptronic gearbox. This means that it can be driven as an automatic (stick it in Drive and leave it) or can be switched to Steptronic mode by moving the gearlever to the right (Sport mode) and change gears manually by nudging the lever backwards and forwards. In sport mode the automatic changes up a gear once it hits the redline. The engine revs very freely and the 6500rpm redline comes around very quickly. Even with the automatic box, this car accelerates very quickly, and is very quick overall.
The car itself is solidly...

So good....I bought another
Advantages: The best 2 door 4 seat coupe you can buy?
Disadvantages: Front seatbelts a little awkward
...I bought my 2nd 330ci new in august 2003, the 1st one having done 50,000 fault free miles in the previous 3 years. Apart from some minor exterior styling changes and a larger TV screen the only real difference was the new 6 speed manual box. So far this 2nd one has managed an astonishing 33.8mpg since new ? over 30,000 miles so far ? and only now needs new tyres fairly soon (it came with Continentals ? my 1st 330 had Bridgestones ? they lasted even longer!) despite my press-on driving style. This one is even better than the 5 speed version though ? the gear ratios are near perfect and the torque is very impressive in any gear allowing you to use just any 2 of the 6 gears when you are feeling lazy! Amazing. The only fault has been an electrical problem that caused the battery to die but that was replaced under warranty even though I had...

3 years on and still smiling
Advantages: Handling and sheer fun factor
Disadvantages: Fuel consumption - But who buys a 3 litre car who's going to worry about this?
...I bought a 330CI sport new about 3 years ago and I still love it.
When I took it for it's first test drive I was impressed. I felt solid, accelerated quickly and felt secure on the road. I put my deposit down and 3 weeks later drove it off the forecourt.
This car is fantastic. It's exterior looks are obviously eye catching. The interior is comfortable and user friendly. Knobs and buttons are where you'd expect them and there was plenty of storage space. The seats are adjustable in just about every direction. I was not overly impressed with the stereo and one of the rear speakers has blown in the last year, it's covered by the warranty but I haven't got around to getting it fixed yet.
What you won't notice on your test drive is exactly how good this car is on the road. The test drive will tell you it's quick in a straight line...

Try on
Advantages: Superb
Disadvantages: expensively
...What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely faultless.
General comments?
I took the decision early this year to opt out of our company car scheme being offered the choice of a Ford Focus TD or a Peugeot 307 HDi. Both decent cars, but doing 30k a year, I wanted something I would enjoy driving rather than tolerate. Looking around, I was amazed to find a choice of decent 2000/2001 E46 330's for around £15k and decided to take a test drive. I fell in love instantly.
It's hard to say what it is about the car that had such a dramatic effect, but suffice to say that the whole air of precision engineering and quality about the car is truly magnificent.
The interior is an object lesson in quality and attention to detail, with a first class driving position and seats that never get uncomfortable or induce pain...
