The X5 oozes quality

Advantages: Has a very upmarket image and robust build quality
Disadvantages: Limited off road ability

...Before I say another word, let's get one thing straight - BMW's X5 is essentially a road car. More or less without exception, everything I've heard or written about the X5 praises its superb road manners and its saloon car like quality, comfort and poise. Having just spent a hard-charging week behind the wheel of this 3.0-litre turbodiesel model, I would second that. The BMW X5 for me is a perfect mix of new and old. In my opinion it successfully blends BMW's new futuristic look, with the clean muscular lines of the old X3. The X5 front-end face echoes the traditional BM "twin-kidney grill" , whilst its rear end retains that distinctive "boxyness" which made previous models so aggressive. Underneath the bonnet is BMW 3.0L straight 6 cylinder where the diesel does 235 hp and has a top torque of no less than 520 Nm. It's nicely packaged...

A girls review of an X5 4.4i Sport SE

Advantages: excellent all rounder, great performance
Disadvantages: expensive, fuel consumption not too great

...OK, so lets start by saying that I love this car, its our fourth X5 and I love it very much. This car starts at #52,800, It's 8 cylinder V 4 valve technology engine has a 4398cc petrol egnine and it does 0- 60 in 7.0 seconds. The fuel consumption is 21.6mpg - not great but not that bad. The fuel tank has a capacity of 93 litres and the CO2 tax is 35% as are all X5's. it has a six speed automatic gearbox with steptronic control and sports suspension. As with all BMW's the car will vary dramatically by how you spec it, and spec-ing the car is by far the most fun! - you can do this on line at www.bmw.co.uk. From basic the car comes with all the usual, but rather than bore you with a list of specifications, I will try and tell you of my experiences with them. Ok, so lets tell you about the airbags - luckily enough so far I havent...

!! BMW !! do the HoKey PoKey DanCe!

Advantages: Excellent handling, good HP on the 4.4L.
Disadvantages: Still an SUV.

...To start with this car cost me $44000 from my local BMW car dealer in America. BMW has come up with a new categorization in this auto market of seemingly uncategorizable cars. They call their entry into the SUV market a Sport Activity Vehicle (I call these car-like SUV?s). Unlike a truck based SUV, X5 is more like an overgrown sedan on steroids. And, as such, it has both the characteristics of an SUV and the popular BMW sport sedans. This works for me, as I am a driver rather than a rider. I like dancing through the curves and bashing the gas pedal on a straightaway. You could, of course, do the same in a regular SUV but you would soon notice that you are riding alfresco in an emergency wheel chair. With its stiff suspension, but not so stiff that it rides like a sports car, X5 is possibly the best handling SUV I have ever...

2008 BMW X6...is pure genuis

Advantages: Character of a coupe. With the genius of X-models
Disadvantages: The sticker price

...The car being reviewed here is the 2008 BMW X6. The BMW X6 I believe is defining a whole new vehicle category..it's the world's first the Sports Activity Coupe. In a nutshell it's the best of two world's. You have the high ground clearance, high seating position's, big wheels...in my view comparable to the BMW X5, but on top of all that for the first time you get the design, performance and the agility of a large coupe. Talking about the design this X6 does not only have Sport design elements. From its whole silhouette...its a real coupe. For example, when I look at the roof line, its not just the window graphics which is sporty. But from the highest point, above the drivers seat the roof line slopes gently towards the rear, which is a genuine characteristic of a coupe. Also I see there is lot's of "muscle" in the wheel arches...

2008

Advantages: i did ok
Disadvantages: some stresses and strains

...a lovely kind man and he died right near Christmas after being ill for a while. Unfortunately having always believed him to be father Christmas that was the affectionate term that a friend and I still used to talk about him. I choose the seriously bad timing of saying to her "oh did you hear that father Christmas died" whilst out shopping - unfortunately we were walking by santas grotto and a whole line of children heard my comment and looked rather devastated. Ooops. 4) What countries did you visit? Unfortunately none! It was the first year that I haven't been abroad due to university commitments and lack of money! The only time that I managed to get away from home was a four day weekend break to Cornwall which was lovely. 5) What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? To be a weight that I a comfortable with. Over...

BMW 325i convertable

Advantages: Fair price, electric roof, leather interior, CD player and, of course 'blindingly rapid'.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive parts, can tend to guzzle petrol depending on the speed.

...Two years ago my brother was serching for a car which had class, good looks, gave a good performance, a soft-top and space for his golf clubs. He found a mattalic purple BMW 325i convertable which gave him everything above. The only thing it didn't give him was the good performance - instead it's performance was excellent. The soft-top folded back itself - what would you expect? The car came with black leather interior, a CD player, alloy wheels, a standard BMW alarm system and lots more. Insurance can obviously be high for a quality motor as with the BMW 325i. If anyone was going to buy this car my advice to them would be that: *BMW parts can be expensive, although replica parts are available at a fraction of the cost. *It may be necessary to buy a wind-breaker, (which breaks the sometimes violent wind when the roof is down...

BMW318iSE

Advantages: A prestigous car giving a feeling of safety and comfort. d
Disadvantages: Latest models not as well finished off as the earlier ones.

...My wife and I have owned a 3 series BMW since 1974. The first one was a 316i (1596cc)with manual gearbox. The car was completely reliable and very well made, and the paint finish was faultless. Servicing was every 6,000 miles, although perhaps more frequent than other cars at that time, the cost of the service was as cheap, perhaps cheaper than that of other foreign cars. The second BMW we bought, in August 1997, was a 318iSE (1796cc)with automatic gearbox, again completely reliable but the paint finish was showing signs of not being as well finished off as the previous model, especially around the wheel acrches, inner boot lid bonnet etc. The servicing intervals however were longer, every 8,000 miles and again the servicing price was competative, the BMW labour costs seemingly cheaper than those of a Ford garage. In September 2001 we...

BMW Sporty Diesel with Low Running Costs

Advantages: Good Resale value, sporty, comfortable, sleek
Disadvantages: Feels same as a much older model.

.... The gearbox snicks as a proper rear wheel drive one should, and feels tight and definite to use. The car is fitted with traction control which senses the forces acting on the car through bends and adjustt the power to the rear wheels to balance the car, and this cwertainly does make a difference, combined with BMW almost perfect 50/50 from to back weight distribution. The engine is quiet for a diesel even on startup and with 150bhp on tap is brisk with quite a sporty feel.Suspension is slightly on the hard side compared to that of an Audi etc but copes well, and should enable most enthusiastic drivers to drive to their own limits safely. I was suprised at the torque of the car at most speed in the first 5 gears and this makes for safe and effortless overtaking. Interior is again surprising like that of a BMW 12 years older but is of decent...

It's MY - X5!

Advantages: Small, Light, Hands Free function, colour
Disadvantages: Only one game

...Have just bought a second hand MY-X5, on T-Mobile. A great looking little phone in silver, with a large colour screen. The first thing I did after getting it was to get it Unlocked. For the uninitiated this means that I am now able to use any Network, and I have since plonked in an Orange Sim card, as Orange is the best in my area. As for the features of the phone, coloured icons lead you through the menus, which are easily accesed using the arrow keys. First is the Phonebook, which can store 90 numbers on the Sim card, and 300 on the phone. Each person can be put into a category, such as friend, colleagues, VIP etc. Next up is Accesories, which includes a very functional and easy to use Calculator, Alarm Clock, and Currency Converter, and a Countdown Timer, great for making sure you don't burn your fairy cakes! Then comes...

BMW Sytner Chigwell

Advantages: Great customer service, aparently no matter who you are.
Disadvantages: Services can be a bit pricey, but not as bad as you would think.

...I have visited BMW Sytner a few times over the last 3-4 years & I have to say, they have the best customer service i have experienced at any dealership, bar none. I am not your typical kind of guy you would see in a BMW showroom, I am 27 years old but look like I am 17, I probably go there looking a bit rag tag aswell (I think i do it on purpose, i am not fond of face value). But I always feel that they treat me with the same courtesy as all of their customers I have been to Sytner for 3 series parts a few times & no matter how small the problem, the staff are always very helpful & polite. They took their time to track down some E36 washers I could have probably got anywhere & smiled at me when i thought they would charge me for it!, lol. Specifically, i find parts prices are not that bad at all compared to mercedes or renault. I...
