The X5 oozes quality

Advantages: Has a very upmarket image and robust build quality
Disadvantages: Limited off road ability

...Before I say another word, let's get one thing straight - BMW's X5 is essentially a road car. More or less without exception, everything I've heard or written about the X5 praises its superb road manners and its saloon car like quality, comfort and poise. Having just spent a hard-charging week behind the wheel of this 3.0-litre turbodiesel model, I would second that. The BMW X5 for me is a perfect mix of new and old. In my opinion it successfully blends BMW's new futuristic look, with the clean muscular lines of the old X3. The X5 front-end face echoes the traditional BM "twin-kidney grill" , whilst its rear end retains that distinctive "boxyness" which made previous models so aggressive. Underneath the bonnet is BMW 3.0L straight 6 cylinder where the diesel does 235 hp and has a top torque of no less than 520 Nm. It's nicely packaged...

A word to the wise

Advantages: A good drive and looks brilliant
Disadvantages: breaks very easily

...~INTRO~ The BMW X5 is a good looking car, that will make you look good in front of friend and so on. It has all the things that you would expect from a luxury car, such as: CD player, alarm, automatic gearbox, and a LOT of power behind the stearing wheel. ~GOOD POINTS~ It looks really good and I mean REALLY good, the best colour to get it in by far has to be Blue though. It has lots of features like in the list I wrote in the intro. It is comfortable enough to ride, which is what you expect from a car that costs £35,000. The power that you get from it is amazing, considering that it is a 4x4, it has 350 pounds of horse power, and it will do a top speed of about 3700 rpm. The automatic gear box (which can also be changed to manual if you want to by just pushing the gear stick to the left) is a grate addition to the X5...

The best car ive ever been in

Advantages: perfect drive
Disadvantages: Its not mine!

...My dad has this car, and I really cant say on thing bad about it. It is beautiful, comfy, great interior, fast, everything you want in a car. He has just about everything on it and has the new twin turbo version. In my opinion, the best things about it are: automatic high beams - i know that it takes very little effort to turn your full beams on and off, but having this means that you dont have to think about it, and dont blind other drivers when you forget to turn them off. Also its such a cool toy!! The nomal lights on the X5 are by the way close to other cars' full beams! The Ipod player, being able to go through your ipod on your steering wheel is great, it means you have access to alot more music, and its safer and easier than messing about with CDs. The 22" alloys! - they are absolutely huge, i dont know how much they...

BMW X3 3.0L Sport

Advantages: Spacious family vehicle.
Disadvantages: Likes its fuel!

...I've had this vehicle for just over 1 year. At the time of buying i was unsure whether to get a 2.0L diesel or the 3.0L Sport. I ended up getting a really good deal on the sport so thought i'll go for the bigger engine. Petrol/Diesel - me being female - doesn't really bother me!! Well, that was until i purchased this car. My lord its so thirsty!! At the moment i have nearly reached 8000 miles and i'm getting 17 mpg. I thought in time this would get better - unfortuantely it hasn't. (I travel 11 miles to work, mostly in traffic) On a plus side, even though the car is expensive to run, its a lovely car. If you're a driver who travels lots on the motorway you would probably get 25 mpg, which isn't great but its barable. The car is the sport version, the suspension is a little hard but you would expect this from a sports car...

A girls review of an X5 4.4i Sport SE

Advantages: excellent all rounder, great performance
Disadvantages: expensive, fuel consumption not too great

...OK, so lets start by saying that I love this car, its our fourth X5 and I love it very much. This car starts at #52,800, It's 8 cylinder V 4 valve technology engine has a 4398cc petrol egnine and it does 0- 60 in 7.0 seconds. The fuel consumption is 21.6mpg - not great but not that bad. The fuel tank has a capacity of 93 litres and the CO2 tax is 35% as are all X5's. it has a six speed automatic gearbox with steptronic control and sports suspension. As with all BMW's the car will vary dramatically by how you spec it, and spec-ing the car is by far the most fun! - you can do this on line at www.bmw.co.uk. From basic the car comes with all the usual, but rather than bore you with a list of specifications, I will try and tell you of my experiences with them. Ok, so lets tell you about the airbags - luckily enough so far I havent...

!! BMW !! do the HoKey PoKey DanCe!

Advantages: Excellent handling, good HP on the 4.4L.
Disadvantages: Still an SUV.

...To start with this car cost me $44000 from my local BMW car dealer in America. BMW has come up with a new categorization in this auto market of seemingly uncategorizable cars. They call their entry into the SUV market a Sport Activity Vehicle (I call these car-like SUV?s). Unlike a truck based SUV, X5 is more like an overgrown sedan on steroids. And, as such, it has both the characteristics of an SUV and the popular BMW sport sedans. This works for me, as I am a driver rather than a rider. I like dancing through the curves and bashing the gas pedal on a straightaway. You could, of course, do the same in a regular SUV but you would soon notice that you are riding alfresco in an emergency wheel chair. With its stiff suspension, but not so stiff that it rides like a sports car, X5 is possibly the best handling SUV I have ever...

BMW X3, Ugly Duckling.

Advantages: Nice Smooth Engine
Disadvantages: About everything else

...the back it slants too much and the front as Jeremy Clarkson so nicely put it, will make the children sick as soon as they see it. Design wise, it's just not on par with the lovely X5. Inside - Unfortuneately the inside has quite a bit to answer for too. I've driven 1 Series BMWs which ALL have better quality materials than this X3 does. The fake leather look dashboard is actually horrible, horrible plastic and the seats are so hard, you slip and slide all over them. It's also quite awkward to get in and out of due to being a wierd height. Not tall enough to substantiate a proper set of running boards, yet not low enough for you to be able to simply swing yourself in. It's just plain wierd. The car does not go off road, sure it'll help you when you have parked in a grassy car park and it's been raining, hoever don't expect to drive...

The Pinnacle Stratus 3.0 E is a good value hybrid

Advantages: Internal hub gears, sturdy frame, nice finish, responsive ride, great price
Disadvantages: Right brake lever could be longer, high Q factor, poor pedal design

...PINNACLE STRATUS 3.0E Product reviews, out of necessity, are full of relative descriptions and judgements based on comparison with a similar product familiar to the reviewer. Therefore, a reviewer?s experience very much affects the review outcome. Reviewers with little or no experience to call upon are likely to compare the product with their own expectations (be they reasonable or not). My review is no exception but I?ll say up front that my experience of adult bicycles is limited to a GT Tequesta mountain bike (steel frame, 3x7 derailuer gears & no suspension) and two lightweight tourers (both with Reynolds 531 steel frame, one with 700C alloy rims and 2x7 speed derailleur gears and the older tourer with 26? steel rims and Sturmey Archer 4 speed internal hub gears). Each tourer was fitted with new parts as they wore over...

Toyota Camry 3.0 V6 1998

Advantages: Fast Motorway Car
Disadvantages: Forget it about town-buy a Corsa

...I brought a 1998 Camry V6 3.0 back in early September 2007. 2 previous owners and 183,000 on the clock (nothing for this car), driven daily from Telford to Birmingham. Having owned the car for 4 months and putting another 10,000 motorway miles on the clock I have to say that generally it is an excellent car. First the bad points. With petrol currently between 99.9 and 106.9 a litre in the UK you need to bear this in mind. In fuel alone this car costs 16 pence a mile, even more about town. Add to that the cost of servicing at the recommended 9,000 miles in addition to replacement consumables (I put 2 new front tyres on in November) and you soon realise that this is not a Ford Fiesta. These considerations are for the most part forgotten the moment you get behind the wheel. This is a car of modest features yet it has a quality...

Peugeot 3.0 V6 Coupe

Advantages: Sleek looks, awesome power and spacious
Disadvantages: Guzzles petrol, service/repair costs, insurance and poor alloys.

...the brakes are depressed. The front dash doesn't look too plasticy which is a bonus and is covered with some sort of soft leather/vinyl material. It is and does give the impression of space inside. The safety aspect of the car comprises of both driver, passenger and side airbags. PERFORMANCE I have a 3.0 V6 24v auto engine which admittedly does burn fuel on round the town journeys (19.2 mpg) but is more economical on motorway journeys (36.2mpg). It is 210 bhp as standard and I think this is more than enough for me at present. With a top speed of 144-149 mph, it doesn't hang around, the auto gear box comprises 3 speeds and has a snow/icy mode and a sports mode for more responsiveness. A 0-60 in around 7.5 seconds which isn't bad considering the weight (1910kg) of the car. FINAL THOUGHT...
