Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Proper BO!!

Advantages: hysterically funny at times, insane characters
Disadvantages: gross humour in places

...So, I'll try and describe the madness of "Bo selecta!" The main character of this comedy sketch show is a crazy fan to the stars, Avid Merion. He is foreign, although I have no idea where from as his strange, terribly staged accent is imcomprehensible. He wheres a neck brace constently and usualy is seen strutting around his flat, full of celebraty photos of his stalkees, in his big white y fronts. Oh yeah and he keeps Craig, winner of Big Brother1, locked in chains in his cupboard. The second disk contains deleted scenes, some of which are really funny, extended scenes, bo sexier, avid’s gallery, boop Selecta trailers and a special behind the scenes featurette. This series seems to be packed full of lots and lots of great clips to watch and is fantastic value for money, the run time of disk one is 191 minutes and the run time of disk 2 is 111 minutes so you really do get a lot of viewing for your money. There will be a lot of people that will really hate this, but they’ll be a lot of people that will love it too, really you wont know unless you give it a watch and give it a fair chance....

...Bo' Selecta is the branchild of Leigh Francis, and features him as Avid Merrion- an obessive celebrity stalker. The show centres around Merrion, as well, as Leigh Francis dressed up as various celebrities - using a rubber mask. The vareity of celebrities that Merrion dresses up as is large. Fore example, there is - Ricky Gervais,Christina Aguilera,Craig David,Michael Jackson,The Osbournes and Mel B. However, the show also features a talking bear, who lives in a treehouse, on hampstead Heath. This is simply Leigh Francis showing his face in a bear suit. Bo' Selecta is therefore, as clearly read, not your average comedy show - it features alot of "celebrity stalking" - from Avid Merrion, and the use of rubber masks. Advantages: will make you sweat, quite easy to understand
Disadvantages: looking at tv as his left is your right

...Have been wanting to try billy blanks workout dvd's for a long time so decided to look on amazon and got it for 3.95. I thought since so cheap might aswell give it a go. Tae bo blends your own hidden strength with moves from self-defence, dance and boxing. This dvd contains two parts, instructional and tae bo basics. The best way is do the instructional part first for a few times to get use to the moves which are quite hard to master. Billy is a good instructor and you warm to his personality very quickly, he shows you the best way to stand, how to position your arms to punch and legs to kick correctly so you do not hurt yourself. The main part of the dvd is only about 20 minutes long but my god you sweat it combines what you have learnt from the instructional part of this dvd with fast moves. ...Bo Selecta is a peculiar one. It reminds me of Spitting Image from the Eighties but a lot more controversial and a lot ruder. As Spitting Image focussed on politicians and people of power, Bo Selecta just takes the mickey out of celebrities, celebrity interviews and gossip. The programmes, when watched originally on Channel Four TV, do correspond to actual events of the celebrities in question. The main character of the series is Avid Merrion, a ginger haired, neck braced celebrity stalker. Advantages: Bright story book featuring In the Night Garden characters
Disadvantages: Might need to read this one over and over to an eager toddler!

The story, as you might expect from the title, involves the characters bouncing and jumping about. It features most of the show's favourites, including Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and the Tomblioos. Even the Haahoos and the tiny Pontipines feature in this book. (If this all sounds like a load of gobbledlygook to you, just remember that somebody has made a not particularly small fortune out of these characters and the associated merchandise!) ...I bought this dvd in a double pack with bo selecta series 2 and I can definately recommend buying the both of them. This is british comedy at its best. From Michael Jackson to Marilyn Manson nobody escapes having the fun taken out of them. Ive noticed that with Bo Selecta you either love it or hate it. The only bad thing id have to say about this dvd is that some of the sketch's are just plain not funny. Such as Avid Merrion and his fantasys for celebrities. I think that the other sketches make up for this. Especially one with Claire Sweeney who is releasing an album for christmas with songs such as baa baa black sheep and we wish you a merry christmas.
