A Tea Set inside a Teapot...?
Advantages: Safe, plastic tea set complete with it's own unique storage box!
Disadvantages: If used with water or juice, carpet can become more of a swimming pool!!
...My daughter recieved this Minnie Tea Set as an unexpected gift from her Great Aunt. The reason I say unexpected is that although I told many relatives to buy Cherith a gift from the Disney store, I never specified any specific items, and so any she did recieve were a complete surprise.
Prior to Christmas The Disney Store had lots of beautiful gifts and toys at very reasonable prices, and as my daughter adores everything Disney I ended up sending all her well wishing relatives there!!
As you can imagine, I had been in the Disney Store quite a few times myself before Christmas and had seen the Minnie Teapot several times, but had always gone for alternative toys.
I bought her this delightful Woody figure with a working lamp and talking back pack for a measly £5. However after Christmas I ended up having to take it back three...

"This Is A Lovely Place! Best Cafe This Side Of Yorkshire!"
Advantages: Just Read The Review, Basically!
Disadvantages: Too Small To Fit In All Their (Many) Fans..., There Is Only One Of Them In The World!
...The title of this review is part of a little speech I heard a very happy customer make to the owner of The Pink Teapot, and I completely agree with it!
In A Nutshell
The Pink Teapot is an amazing retro (and you know how I love my retro places!) cafe in the market-town of Otley. It sells freshly made little treats such as scones, caramel shortbread and more, scrumptious drinks (aah, that hot chocolate...), paninis, butties with locally-produced bacon, the best cakes you will ever taste, jacket potatoes and more...and the best thing is, it is sold with a smile (you also know how picky I am about customer service!)
The Good
Everything! As soon as you walk through the door you are met by a group of the nicest people of Otley, who give you a smile and a wave (if they're busy) or a little chat if they're not too busy. If you look...

Simple Plastic Cafetiere
Advantages: Simple, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Still needs cleaning after use..........
...of a paper filter, coffee brewed with a cafetiere captures more of the coffee's flavour and essential oils, which would have become trapped in a traditional drip brew machine's paper filter. Cafetiere pressed coffee is usually stronger and thicker and has more sediment than drip-brewed coffee. As the used grounds remain in the drink after brewing, cafetiere pressed coffee should be served immediately so as to not become bitter from over-extraction. Contents in a typical 8-cup cafetiere is considered expired after 20 minutes
Coffee for use in a French press should be of a consistent, coarse grind. A cafetiere is also more portable and self contained than other coffee makers.
Brewing the Perfect Cup
I have owned a standard Bodum 8 cup plastic cover model for many years. Although less attractive than the fancy stainless steel jacketed...

A coffee purists dream!!
Advantages: quiet - grinds quickly - power cut off - very durable
Disadvantages: pricey - pricey - pricey
...Freshly ground coffee is a vice - pure and simple and I find that my tastes vary from week to week so rather than buying large packs of pre-ground coffee beans to use I buy small packs of fresh beans from different countries and grind them myself and this lead me to need a coffee grinder that was reliable - good looking and most of all quiet. Noise first thing in the morning is never an option.
I bought a brand new white Bodum 5670 for £49.99 from eBay as it was £15 cheaper than buying direct from the manufacturer. The picture above shows the black model and essentially my grinder is identical apart from the colour.
Size wise it is larger than most ordinary grinders - 28cm x 23cm x 20cm so it does take up some space but bear with me I'll explain why it is better than most other grinders on the market.
1 - It is very light...

Grinds more than a nagging wife
Advantages: fast grinder, cheap and cheerful, easy to use
Disadvantages: difficult to clean
...I adore the aroma and taste of freshly ground coffee, it is something that cannot be matched by pre-ground beans and the end result of using the Bodum 5670 is a cup of coffee that little bit richer and fuller in flavour than any alternatives. It is like drinking Expresso from Starbucks or Café Nero without the huge expense regular visits incur.
Prior to using the Bodum grinder I had a Gaggia grinder that tunred out to be the biggest waste of cash ever. That model cost £70 so when it struggled to grind even the smallest amount of beans in less than 10 minutes I wasn?t going to buy a replacement so expensive. I opted for the Bodum because it was £20 and I had seen a few good reviews of its performance.
A little bigger than my Gaggia grinder at 28 x 23 x 20cm it isn?t huge and is about the same size as regular filter coffee makers...

Do you fancy a fresh cup of Coffee ?
Advantages: Fresh Ground Coffee
Disadvantages: Can be pricey compared to others
...Bodum first started in Denmark in 1944 and it was not until 1958 until the first French Press came to be on the market. They have sold over 50 million of these products worldwide and they are now very well known in the uk mainly for their quality.
I do not know how old my friend thinks I am but a selection of perfumes for Christmas Pressie is not my cup of coffee so back to Boots whence it came and I got a refund on a card.
Talking of Coffee, my favourite drink, I was mooching around Boots thinking what could I spend this on and the sale had just started and I came upon this shelf that had Cafetieres on it.
On the shelf, all the Cafetieres had been reduced and I thought brilliant, I will put extra money towards a Bodum Cafetiere as a Treat.
There is no packaging with this, you just buy the product straight for the shelf. When...

Tea for Two!
Advantages: Fun set, involves imaginative play, plastic so easy to look after
Disadvantages: You might lose the cutlery bits if you're not careful!
...in my local branch of M&S. The teaset costs £9.50 (slightly less with the VAT reduction now) and I think that's very good value considering what you get in the set and the amount of fun you can have with it!
The teaset comes packed inside a giant clear plastic teapot as you can see in the picture. I think this teapot is meant more for decoration and storage rather than use by children, but Harry does love "making and pouring" a cup of tea from it, bless him! The palstic is quite thick so it won't damage easily, and it features a bright yellow lid and spout, so it is a pretty unisex set which is good. The lid screws on and off but you have to place it correctly which Harry struggles to do, so its more of a parents job to do this. That's handy to stop random messes of tea sets all over the sitting room floor though!
Once you...

This Teapot is my cup of tea!
Advantages: More "oomph" than the GS500
Disadvantages: Adding a rack and top box mucks up the aerodynamics a bit!
...but the pre 1998 models are very different to those from 1998 onwards (see pics). The later versions many people think are slightly odd looking and indeed have nicknamed "Teapots". Personally I think they are pretty good looking bikes! I understand the earlier models had twin exhaust but the 1999 model only has one and I believe all the later models too.
My Opinion:
Well, I admit it was very strange at first and frankly I was very very nervous riding it. Firstly it is bigger and heavier than the GS. In addition being a fared bike where I was used to a naked bike when you turn the handle bars to corner, the faring obviously does not turn and it looks like you are going straight on! However, it does not take long to get used to this strange sight. It seems a little higher than the GS though actually it is about the same and I...
