...When using this product you had to start in stages by doing a small section at a time. I found it was easier starting with the legs and spraying the product onto my leg then using an old sponge to spread it around as this product stains your hands terribly. It gave you a very good overall tan, although you needed to be sure you had covered all areas. I thought I had covered my feet an ankles well until the product had completely dried and I realised I had patches. I feel this is a good tanning product and the tan is very natural, however it washes off very easily and rubs of when near clothing. The bottle lasts a long time but dont quite feel it is worth the money as there is better products out there which are less hassle....

...After using tonnes of high-street fake tans I was very apprehensive about trying Fake Bake but decided to give it a go. The first time I purchased Fake Bake was from www.lookfantastic.co.uk and was in a set which included Fake Bake original lotion, body scrub and body oil and I was left with not much change from £50.00!! I thought it must be something special at that sort of price. I followed the instructions that came with it and started off by using the body polish all-over in the shower. Fake Bake - The best fake tan out there!

Advantages: AMAZING COLOUR! No smell, Easy to apply, Long lasting
Disadvantages: Can be a little costly

...because if you do it the other way round you are left with stubbles of hair from where you exfolaited the dead skin cells off and the hair appears almost instantly! When this is done put body cream on all over so that your skin isn't dry and can absorb the tan properly, put quite a bit n the elbows and knee's as these are alot drier! Then PUT THE GLOVES ON! If you don't do this then you will end up with orange hands. I always start on the legs, it dosen't matter where put a biggish blob ( about the size of 10p) on your hands and then rub it in the skins until it is absorbed. TIP 1: If after it is sunk in and the colour is not much difference at all, put some more on. Dont be worried! I done this the first time to be safe but I had no tan at all when it washed off! Then go to the stomach and try to do the bottom of your back as well...

Moisturise all dry areas, such as the knees, feet, elbows etc. I have found that putting a little moisturiser on my face made the tan look more natural. ? Put on rubber gloves ? Pump loads of the tanning lotion into your hands and apply it in circular motions, Now the trick to using this right is to not be afraid of it, I?ve found the harder you try to put it on evenly the worse it will look when you wash it off. It?s really intimidating because it?s a thick brown paste that makes you look like you have rolled in mud. ? I find it dries really quickly so start at you feet and work your way up. You should literally look brown and smeary. ? Once you have applied it everywhere just have a good look all over and make sure you haven?t missed...

...Although I got on fantastically well with the Whipped Bronze Instant Self-Tanning Mousse from St Tropez I'm always up for trying new products and it appeared to me that more people use the normal 'lotion' as opposed to the mousse. Is it better? Let's see. ST TROPEZ TINTED SELF-TANNING LOTION The bottle for this lotion is quite different to the mousse. This lotion is presented in a smart, thick white plastic bottle with a black pump action nozzle. It proclaims itself as being 'Step 3' (and we all know what that means!) St Tropez like to make out that only their Step 1 and Step 2 could POSSIBLY precede Step 3 but I disagree - Step 1 is essentially just an exfoliator and Step 2 is a moisturiser. I would imagine that anyone willing to fork out money on a fake tan probably owns AT LEAST one exfoliator and moisturiser already...

The best self tan around? I beg to disagree!

Advantages: Easy to see where you're applying it, quick drying.
Disadvantages: Obvious FAKE tan, messy application, too expensive.

...I bought St Tropez Self Tan Lotion, after reading many reviews swearing that it was the best self tan product they had ever used. I was excited that finally, I might be able to have a natural, flawless tan instead of a patchy orange disappointment. St Tropez Self Tan Lotion turned out to produce the latter result. I shaved my legs the day before, exfoliated in the morning (especially my knees, wrists, hands, ankles, feet), moisturised about 3 hours before, and then applied the product using gloves and mixing with a small amount of moisturiser around my ankles, knees, feet, elbows, wrists, hands. It took a long time to apply, because even though I could see where I was putting it, the self tan didn't seem to want to stay on, I didn't even rub it in, but it started clumping together and then drying leaving some of that area white...

Most natural tan!

Advantages: Natural tan, long lasting, easy to apply

...I use this product regularly and think it is the best fake tan of them all! My best results have been when I exfoliate before and moisturise 3 hours before applying the tan. So I recommend doing this before you fake tan. Most of the time I skip this step as it still does acheive excellent results. I think it is important to leave 3 hours after moisturising for the skin to soak up the moisture otherwise this can make your tan not develop as deep. The fake tan goes on brown so you can see where you are putting it a lot of the other fake tans out there go on colourless therefore you can't see where you have put it on and how heavy you have put it on. If I buy a new bottle I find the pump difficult to get the fake tan out however it does get going eventually. It does go on streaky however aslong I cover the area with fake tan...

A huge fan of this fake tan!

Advantages: fabulous colour, much better for you than sitting in the sun
Disadvantages: smell, colour when developing, messy, more expensive than other tans - but well worth the extra

St Tropez recommends using cooler showers when you use this product (apparently hot water makes your tan fade quicker).
