Review of The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Butter by
sottovoce82
Advantages: Smells wonderful, moisturizes, not terribly greasy
Disadvantages: As is the case with most of The Body Shop products, it's pricey
...The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Butter
<<< The Body Shop >>>
Every time I walk past the body Shop store, the scent draws me like a magnet; I can’t help going there even when I cannot actually afford to buy everything I want. Once I even asked them about the lovely smell and they said it was then Satsuma Home fragrance Oil. Their products are Made With Passion, as they are against animal testing, and they support community trade, activate self esteem, defend human rights, and protect our planet. I like their values and especially supporting community trade; I think it is wonderful that they buy the natural ingredients from 24 countries and pay fair prices.

Hemp body butter
Review of The Body Shop Hemp Body Butter by
paulathomson89
Advantages: Great all over moisturiser
Disadvantages: Smells a bit funny
...Once again The Body Shop have not failed to disapoint with one of their many body butters. This can be used all over the body except for the face as it can be quite strong on that area. It is for very dry to extreamely dry skin, and contains hemp seed oil which helps to restore moisture, suppleness and softness. It also contains shea butter and cocoa butter which are excellent for smoothing skin and also helping any scars or stretch marks that you may have to fade quicker. It absorbs into the skin very easily but it can be a little greasey so you don't need to use that much. It is also great for excema and keeping it at bay. It can also be used in the bath, just take a scoop and stick it under some running bath water to get a milky bath which moisturises too. I love this body butter as it so moisturising, i use it daily to help...

Body Butter leaves you feeling soft and fluffy
Review of The Body Shop Shea Body Butter by
birdmadgirl
Advantages: Rich moisturiser that does wonders to your skin
Disadvantages: Quite pricey
...I love the packaging of The Body Shop's Body Butter. It comes in a simple cream coloured tub with a sticker on the lid. I've always had a gripe about body moisturisers that come in tubes or the pump-ing stuff because when you are close to finishing the product you have so much trouble getting everything out, and being quite impatient, I find all that time wasted on trying to get bits of moisturiser out of such containers. As this comes in a tub you can easily get every little bit out!
The body butter I bought is for very dry skin. Most moisturisers that I've used previously only manage to hydrate my skin for the time after my shower. The Body Shop's Body Butter actually lasts the day which is a real treat because this means I don't have to go to bed with itchy dry skin!
I moisturise everyday and I use this on my whole body. A 200ml...

Scent-sational Summer In A Tub
Review of The Body Shop Mango Body Butter by
birdmadgirl
Advantages: Smells great, absorbs easily
Disadvantages: Is nice-smelling but is not quite mango
...I am a big fan of the Body Butter range but have always limited myself to the Shea or Cocoa Butter Body Butter. A friend gave me the Mango Body Butter and I love it. I wished I discovered it earlier in the summer as the Shea and Cocoa Butter ones can feel a little too heavy on a hot summer's day.
Looking at the sunnier side of things, this very summery-smelling body butter could very well be summer in a tub. All you have to do is lift the lid and allow the scent-sational smell take you to a place with hammocks and palm trees. Such is the power of smell!
Although it smells great, I have to complain that the scent isn't quite mango. The smell actually reminds me of this old fragrance The Body Shop used to sell: Fuzzy Peach. I don't know if they still sell it but the scent of this Body Butter is actually more Fuzzy Peach than Mango...

Shea Body Butter
Review of The Body Shop Range by
victoriapower
Advantages: lovely aroma, good consistancy
Disadvantages: pricy, bad for eczema
...The Body Shop have ten Body Butters ranging from Olive to Honey to Soy to suit the diverse range of skin from oily to dry. Stating that "Skin will soak up and savour the ultra moisturization that this range of Body Butters provides"
I am going to talk about one of the range called Shea Body Butter.
THE BODY BUTTER
Shea Body Butter is an "all-over intensive moisturizer" It contains shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax and sesame oil and according to The Body Shop is an extra rich body moisturizer which gives added softening benefits, particularly to dry areas and is "Great for for dry skin"
The Packaging is a nice creamy colour like the body butter inside it. Available from The Body Shop at £9 for a 200ml tub it is rather expensive, but they have an offer on at the moment where you buy 2 products for £15.
This creamy yellow body butter...

The Body Shop Mango Body Butter
Review of The Body Shop Mango Body Butter by
shemily
Advantages: Smells delicious, very good moisturiser
Disadvantages: Can be expensive
...I have tried quite a few body butters and rich body lotions, from a variety of different shops, as I have very dry skin that requires a lot of moisturising. The range of body butters from The Body Shop are very good quality. They are quite expensive, retailing at £12.00 for a tub containing 200g, but they can often be found at a reduced price in the sale, usually half the normal price.
The mango body butter has a delicious fruity tropical fragrance, and really seems to smell of fresh mangos, and is great for the summer or to take on holiday. The body butters are available in a smaller size of 50g too, for £5.00, and these sizes are perfect for holidays, short breaks and if you just want to try it out.
I found that the body butter is very thick and feels rich and luxurious. It is easily applied to the skin and leaves it moisturised...

Small bottle but great skin!!!1
Review of The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Lotion by
hobnob
Advantages: Good skin results after a few days.
Disadvantages: A runny lotion and a 'rich' smell.
...Body shop's cocoa butter body lotion is brilliant. It comes in a small 30ml bottle ideal for travelling and works absoloutely wonders for your skin. The smell is a real 'feel good factor' but sadly not everyone loves the rich scent of cocoa butter. The other 'not-so-good-thing' is that the bottle cannot be in an array of sizes and the bottle is awfully 'plain.'
As for your skin, well that's what really matters. Body shop's lotions are great for dry or irritated skin-just like mine. The lotion works wonders and is just a tiny bit disappointing due to the fact that the lotion is quite runny. The overall lotion gives me great skin and moistures, cleanses and freashens all in one go!!! Thanks, Body Shop!!!!!...

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter
Review of The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter by
shemily
Advantages: Has a lovely aroma and feels great on the skin, good for dry areas
Disadvantages: Can be a little expensive
...I really like The Body Shop, and have used their products since I was a teenager. The Body Shop seems to have become rather expensive in recent years, so I have not shopped there as much, as I am on a reduced income since having my daughter eighteen months ago. I tend to buy items when there is a sale on, with products often half price (there is a sale at the moment). I have tried quite a few of the body butters, and they have all been really nice, usually with a lovely delicious, fruity fragrance and a thick, rich texture. The body butter costs £12.00 for a 200ml tub, which is quite expensive, but £6.00 for the same amount in the sale is good value, as it is very good quality.
The Strawberry Body Butter is packaged in a tub with a screw top lid, and is very thick and rich. It is absorbed well into the skin, and leaves a fresh...

Coconut heaven!!
Review of The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter by
neenn
Advantages: Softens and moisturises your skin.
Disadvantages: None in my opinion!
...If you love the smell of coconut then this is the body butter for you. When I initially received my range of body butters I imagined that I would feel like a big lump of lard, the name butter suggests to me greasy and heavy, perhaps because I hate the edible type of butter. However the Body Shop's Body Butter is nothing like the edible sort!! It's rich and creamy and is wonderful for dry skin.
The 200ml tub is £10, more expensive than supermarket brands of moisturisers but in this instance you pay for quality. The tub has a screw top and is brown.
On opening the tub you are greeted with a lovely tropical scent which reminds me very much of coconut suncreams that I have used in the past.
I use this after a bath, scooping out only small quantities to massage on my body, working wonders on dry, scaly elbows, a little does go a long way...

Your Skin will thank you
Review of The Body Shop Shea Body Butter by
dratcliffe
Advantages: Smells FANTASTIC, Works great
Disadvantages: not big enough
...I bought this Body butter from The Body Shop about 2 months ago after a bad dose of sunburn (stupid I know!) I put a bit on the burn whilst in the shop and to my suprise it didn't sting like a lot of products I have used but sunk in straight away. That did it for me and I bought a 200ml tub for 10.00 I think.
The tub is very user friendly i.e. chunky with a screw top. The Shea body butter is recommended for very dry skin, and contains Shea butter and cocoa butter which are well known for their moisturising properties. From an ethical point of view, the Body Shop believes in Community Trade and the Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter are from Ghana. "Community Trade ensures a fair deal for the producers and their communities enabling them to work together to make a difference to their own lives and have more control over their futures" from...
