Butlins at Bognor Regis - good for entertainment

Advantages: It was fairly close to where we live
Disadvantages: too noisy

...After having read many reviews about Butlins in Bognor Regis that were not at all good, with only the odd one saying a few nice things, I was really dreading my time there. However I have been very pleasantly surprised indeed. At the beginning of the year I decided to save the tokens from the Daily Express newspaper for a short break to a choice of venues around the South Coast. After completing all the forms and sending the relevant tokens, a cheque for £38.00 and chosen the places and dates we were given Butlins at Bognor Regis from the 8th September throught to the 12th September, which was my Grandson Luke's 3rd Birthday. Redcoats Rule

Advantages: Fun holiday, great for kids, good food,

...Butlins Bognor Regis I have been on 4 holidays to Butlins, and experienced every resort Skegnes, Minehead and Bognor (2). This review is based on my stay at Bognor. Overview of accommodation: Standard is ok usually the best if you are short on cash or if you are with a group of mates and won't be spending a lot of time in your chalet/room. Silver is above average larger rooms with TV. Good for families. Gold is my personal favourite, large spacious rooms with a good size lounge and a huge kitchen area with breakfast table. There is plenty of kitchen work top space so that 2 people can easily be preparing 2 things at once. Helpful if you have children. Gold and Silver are ideally suited to families. ...After staying at the Travelodge in Bognor Regis Fontwell, near Arundel, I can say it was a lovely place to stay. For ten pounds a night you really cant go wrong. There were 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 children (4 & 1 year old) We booked it up over the Internet for 2 nights. We received an email to confirm our booking with a booking reference number, contact number and directions to hotel if we needed it. The rooms available are Single, Double, Family and some do have disabled facilities. You can choose from Smoking or Non-smoking. All rooms are basically the same, and all come en-suite. Shoreline Hotel

Advantages: Luxurious, Close to Facilties, Large Rooms

...Having just returned from a 4 day break at the Butlins Shoreline Hotel I have to say I was pleasantly suprised and enjoyed a fantastic midweek break. I had never stayed at a Butlins before as we normally venture abroad however due to having a young baby and a weeks holiday to take before April we thought wed give it a go!! I really didnt like the look of the chalets and apartments so was very pleased when I stumbled upon the Shoreline Hotel located at the Bognor Regis resort. We got an early booking discount when placing our booking and paid £385 for a Columbus Quarters room for 2 adults 1 child, 1 toddler and 1 infant on a bed and breakfast basis. A Regal Time at Regis

Advantages: Felt ever so chilled out and relaxed afterwards!!
Disadvantages: Still too shilled out and relaxed to think of any!!

...For Christmas, my lovely sister and her family gave me a voucher for a pampering session at Fenwick's Regis Salon in the centre of Newcastle. Being the terribly dis-organised woman that I am it took me till the end of July this year to get around to booking myself in, but I have to tell you it was well worth the wait! Firstly, let me tell you what the voucher was for: Express Pedicure Express Manicure Hair Washed and Styled Estimated time: 1hr 45 mins Tea/coffee/juice included. Fenwick is a very famous Newcastle based department store, situated on Northumberland Street in the heart of the city centre. It's very easy to get to, with great transport links, and it's famous green logo can be spotted a mile away! There are lifts or escalators to all floors, and the salon is on the 3rd floor, next to a lovely terrace café...

Butlins Value!

Advantages: Lots to do
Disadvantages: The Extras can add up ££

...Had a short break here and there was a lot to do, kept my daughter entertained for 4 days. We were both worn out! +Accommodation+ Accommodation was standard, it wasn't great - and really can understand why people complain about the standard rooms and upgrade, but if you are looking for a cheap getaway, this is great value. You don't spend much time in the rooms - I would have preferred a shower, but they only had baths in our accommodation - for that, if I went here again I'd go silver. I have heard that it is only Bognor which has baths in the standard accommodation. They are small baths at that. So if you DON'T like baths, then don't go Standard. The standard accommodation here was more dismal than at Skegness. Rows of two storey chalets, with simple dividing doors if you are in a group, which don't block out much noise...

Lovely Lyme Regis

Advantages: Charming. Lovely atmosphere. Great views.
Disadvantages: Car parking is difficult in the summer months

...In my opinion one of the greatly under-rated counties of England is Dorset and one of the loveliest little resorts to visit just has to be Lyme Regis. This little gem of a place is an absolute delight for sore eyes and it comes as no surprise to me that the great American actress Meryl Streep,after filming there,fell in love with the place. The resort has some delightful buildings, the cob, and some excellent hotels,guest houses and bed and breakfast places. The town also has a number of tradtional English inns which have foreigners drooling and there are wonderful views to be enjoyed. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking and the whole place just oozes character.It is very hilly which could make it difficult for the elderly to get about the place and in the height of the season car parking can be difficult.
