Review of Combination Boiler System

Good boiler lousy digital thermostat

Advantages: pumps heat out, when the thermostat isnt fault which is often
Disadvantages: two new thermostats within three months of new- can't be coincidence

...The boiler is fine -- I had one fitted at the end of October 2007 and it's excellent. The digitizing thermostat (wireless) is so unreliable it is next to useless. Give Worcester their due - their jolly little call centre does call back and arrange a visit and replacement very quickly but . . The thermostat began to dysfunction on 21st Dec- by 29th Dec I'd had enough of no heating, coming home to an icy home. Once I reset the receiver it worked fine. . Until the next time - two or three times a day I had to reset it. Waste of money! Worcester replaced the thermostat and receiver in 8th January 2008, that one first went wrong on 19th January 2008 - eleven days from being fitted- same problem with the receiver - signal going and then switching the whole system to "off". Review of Worcester Combi Boiler

Electrastream boiler - an alternative to gas and oil.

Advantages: No unsightly tanks and more efficient than storage heaters.
Disadvantages: None so far.

On first moving here I looked into having oil or LPG central heating installed but both involved having tanks outside the property. Worcester / Bosch Combi Boiler Greenstar 30CDi

Advantages: Excellent energy efficiency and money savings over older versions
Disadvantages: Time lag to generate hot water on economy mode

The 30CDi si an A rated efficiency condensing combi boiler and we have allready noticed the improved efficency and savings over the boiler we had fitted in our previous house We have now had the boiler fitted for just over Six months and we have noticed that the delivery of hot water to the downstairs taps can take upto 30 seconds this is not a problem to us as we had the boiler fitted upstairs in an airing cupboard however hot water to the adjacent bathroom is well under this time. ...House is a fantastic series and I missed the first one but got in to watching this in the second series, so I rushed out to buy the first series box set and I could not stop watching it, it is so addictive. If you love medical dramas then this is one for you as it's not all your normal diagnosis, each episode goes through a new medical dilemma they have to try and solve and they are not your usual colds and virus's. A Wooden Album by Crowded House?

Advantages: 'Woodface' includes some of the most sublime love songs ever written

Advantages: Fantastic insight into how the islanders lived
Disadvantages: Small admission fee, remote location

...Arnol is a small village on the remote northern coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. Today the village comprises of a number small crofts scattered across a large area but if you look closer you will see the remains of many Black Houses interspersed between the more modern houses. Black Houses are as far as I know unique to the North West Highlands of Scotland and represent a way of life for the people that have lived here, virtually in isolation from the mainland for thousands of years.
