...I have very sensitive skin (ezcema), and find some washing powders make me itch and my ezcema flare up. I started using Bold a few years ago and stuck with it as it doesn't make me itch. This review is for Bold 2 in 1 powder, Ocean Clear. The box:- The box measures 8.25 inches by 6 inches. The Ocean Clear box is pale blue in colour. Rather than the usual detergent boxes where you have to tear out a square of the cardboard, this box has an aluminium easy-pour spout on the side of the box. To ensure the box hasn't been tampered with there is card also in the spout that is attached to the inside of the box (perforated), upon opening the box you can hear this perforation tear. apple and lime washing powder REALLY ?!!

Advantages: georgeous smell
Disadvantages: want to wash everything again !!!

...I have got 4 children between the ages of 5 and 16, one of them is a girl, so as you can imagine I have washing in abundence ! I have never really taken much notice of the 'NEWER & BETTER CLEANING' washing powders as if the current powder is so great haw can it be improved ?! Well that shows me how wrong I can be. I picked up a box of Bold 2in1 apple blossom and lime zest whilst shopping the other day by mistake. Once home I realised this but had washing to do and carried on and used it. I am so glad that I did. The clean fresh smell that came from the box when I opened it was breathtaking, absolutely georgeous. As it states on the box that it is 2in1 (includes fabric softener), I didnt bother to add any of my usual conditioner. Some 2in1's also need conditioner added I think, even though it says on the box that none is...

...I was doing my usual Monday morning thing, gathering up all the dirty washing, threw it in the machine, went to shut the door and the ruddy door fell off in my hand. Aaaaarrrgggghhhh!!!!!. How am I going to cope? 3 kids 1 husband and me and no washing machine. After I had calmed down, I phoned out the repair man. It was eventually fixed today. Yipee, just in time, the dirty washing was just about to walk out on me. Opened the cupboard to get the washing powder out, aaaarrrggghhh. Only enough powder left for one load. ...Someone should tell Bold there falsly advertising. I usually buy the brand of wash powder thats on offer in the supermarkets and last week Somerfield happened to have Bold on offer so I chose that one, I agree that the the powder does smell nice while in the packet but when I had washed the clothes I found no difference through using Bold then using no softner at all. The clothes didn't even smell any fresher then normal so I put them on a rinse and spin with a fabric softner and this time they came out fresh and soft how they should be after washing. Bold's claim not to need a seperate softer is pure fantasy unless you like your clothes scratchy....

Daz Washing Powder: A standard price for an excellent performance

Advantages: Great scent, good cleaning powder, great price.
Disadvantages: None.

...I am staying at my Mums at present and Daz is the soap powder that she has currently purchased. The box is red, white & blue and stands out on the soap powder shelves as quite a recognisable product. The box has a handy pour spout which you just pull out of one side and this helps to pour the soap powder directly in to the washing machine drawer. The soap powder has a standard fresh, clean scent to it and nothing that I could put my finger on. The box states that it contains enough for 10 washes but my Mum says that she usually makes this last a good 15-20 washes as she rarely has soiled washing or even complete loads as for the most part she lives alone and just has her clothes & bedding to wash. I did not actually measure out a particular amount and just sprinkled it in to the drawer, I would definitely say that I used far less than 10...

Never go back to cheap powder

...When I was a child my mother always bought bold washing powder (the blue box) and I thought she was boring and stuck in the same old routine. When I grew up and had to do my own washing I think I tried every other brand you can think of. Some smelt nice but didint clean well, often you would notice items were not as white as they should be. I decided to get Bold despite the slightly higher price, probably due to the 2 in 1. I have to say I was extrememly impresssed. Every time it was used, the tough stains had gone, whites were WHITE but mostly to my preference the laundry smelt lovely and fresh..even after drying. I can honestly say I would never go back to buying any other brand I swear by Bold. It comes in a range of fragrances - all great. Definatley worth paying an extra few pennies. I highly recommend giving Bold a go....
