Almond Pistachio & Milk Body Butter

Advantages: Indulgent, nourishing, moisturising, softens skin.
Disadvantages: Residue scent may not be as appealing as other products

...I got this 'Boots Mediterranean Almond Pistachio & Milk Body Butter' as a birthday present a few months ago in one of the pampering gift packs from Boots which included an exfoliating sponge and a body wash. I have the one in the small 50ml container and it also comes in a larger 200ml container for about £5 at Boots. It has a round black cover with a sticker covering most of it; the 'Boots' logo is in one corner in blue then the words 'mediterranean almond pistcahio & milk' in variable black clear font and the small words 'BODY BUTTER' at the bottom in an orange-ish cream colour. There's a picture of almond and pistachio nuts against a white background so it's easy to spot on the shelf among other ranges.. The ingredients as indicated on the cover are: 'nourishing organic almond oil, moistursing pistachio oil & skin softening milk...

Butter your body with Nuts

Advantages: Pleasant smelling, thick consistency, a little goes a long way,
Disadvantages: none unless you don't like the smell of almonds!

...I love to pamper myself with body creams and lotions and regularly buy new products that I haven't tried before. I do suffer occasionally from dry skin on my elbows and knees and legs?therefore I have to be careful what products I use and at the very first sign of discomfort I have to stop using a product. This body butter from the Boots Mediterranean range is wonderful for me. I received it one week before Christmas as part of a gift set from my colleagues at the nursery I work in. So my tub of butter is only a 50ml size, but this is available from Boots for £6 for a 200ml full size tub! This is a great bargain in my eyes as a little truly goes a long way. I've been using my butter for 2 weeks now and have been using it about once every two days and still have loads left in the small tub. The tub is a clear hard plastic which...

My Skin Is Soo Kissable...With The Nutty Butter

Advantages: Gorgeous smell, instant shine and long lasting.
Disadvantages: Can be very addictive.

...and what is better for your skin . . . Body lotion is often runny, thin and can be poured out easily; while body butter is much thicker, very rich and of a very firm consistency and is usually very intense. Also . . . body butter is usually great for very dry skin especially during winter. It is absorbed more slowly than lotion, so when using body butter bear in mind that you will need to give more time massaging it until it has completely penetrated into the skin; the results will show immediately. The body butter will be more expensive than a lotion but it will go further so it should be worth it. Unless your skin will not absorb the butter, I prefer the butter over the lotions as it is more intensive and gives me softer, supple and glowing skin. THE BOOTS MEDITERRANEAN RANGE . . . They have over 35 different...

Butter for your body made from beans!

Advantages: helps skin
Disadvantages: lid is annoying!

...help me in other aspects- feeling as though I was treating my body in some way whilst it was undergoing the huge changes of pregnancy and also improving the moisture levels of my skin. Package As with other body butters in various ranges, this body butter comes in a small round tub with a screw on lid. This proudly shows off the fact that it is a fairtrade product and displays the 'fair trade' logo on the front. Along with the fair trade logo the lid also has quite a lot of information on it really, it's quite a busy lid! The background is of the cocoa fields and then there is also information including the name, the boot's logo, the uses, where it's sourced and how many mls inside. There is quite a lot to take in but the most important information- the name of the butter and the fact it's fair trade is very clear...

THe Sanctuary Body Butter

Advantages: Rich and creamy, quality product
Disadvantages: Smell not for everyone

...The Sanctuary Body Butter. The Sanctuary began as a Spa in Covent Garden over 30 years ago. Their philosophy is all about providing the time, space and expertise for women to renew that glow. I've never been to the Spa but friends have been and they do say that it is a wonderful experience and definitely a very upmarket product. The Sanctuary beauty products were produced in 1998. Customers had been wanting to take the spa experience home with them without needing a therapist or special equipment so they came up with the idea of selling their products. Apparently they are only sold exclusively at Boots and of course you can buy them in the spa's themselves. I've always liked the look of the products as I think they have quite an expensive, quality look about them. I have used the foaming bath soak for quite a while but this is...

BOOTS MEDITERRANEAN Melon Sugar Mint body scrub.

Advantages: Smells good enough to eat. Gorgeous gooey gummy consistency.
Disadvantages: None

...************************ ABOUT THE RANGE ************************ About two years ago Boots Launced their Mediterranean range, which included bath and body products laced with mediterranean ingredients such as olives, almonds, milk and fruits. There are shower gels and bath foams that are scented with ripened figs, face cream packed with almonds and milk and this, the item Im reviewing, a sumptuous body scrub packed with melon and sugar. ************************ MY EXPERIENCE ************************ Ive tried a few products in this range and this is the one I keep going back for. Its utterly delicious. I got my first pot of this delicious scrub in a special box for my 18th birthday. My boyfriend bought a big bift box and bought me loads of goodies to pack inside it. Woo! I instantly loved the smell of this scrub...

Nuts for coconut and almond body butter

Advantages: Smell lasts well
Disadvantages: The coconut over powers the almond

...I'm a big fan of Boots products, and saw their Coconut and almond body butter on a buy-one-get-one-free offer (I also got the mango and orange blossom body butter which I tihnk smells nicer, but the smell wears off much more quickly). At £2.93 for two tubs of body butter I thought it was excellent value, but having used the product I think that £2.93 for one tub is still very good value. The label claims that the product is moisturising and hydrating. I agree to an extent; it's fine for normal use and does leave my skin smelling lush, and feeling soft, but I had a dry patch on my right arm which using this body butter didn't help at all (a different product did, so the patch didn't need medicated moisturiser). I find that I only need to use a small amount of body butter each time, and so each 200ml tub lasts me ages. I have only just...

Lovely Body Butter!

Advantages: Smells lovely, responsibly produced, works well
Disadvantages: A bit expensive at full price

...A few years ago a friend of mine bought me a gift set from The Body Shop for Christmas and amongst the items contained therein was a pot of body butter. I really wasn?t expecting to like it at all; from the term ?body butter? I expected it to be really greasy and oily. I was quite wrong and have been hooked ever since! The one I am currently using is the Satsuma Body Butter which normally retails at £12.20 for a pot containing 200ml although there is an offer on at the moment reducing the price by 20% so it is only £9.76. If you do like Body Shop products it is worth keeping your eyes open during the year as they often have special offers so it is worth stocking up when things are cheaper. If you are a regular customer it is also worth investing in their reward card. It costs £5 per year but you get a free gift worth £5 on your...

Review of The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter

All buttered up

Advantages: a good body butter and organic
Disadvantages: none i can see

...I was given a pot of this boots body butter for Christmas. I was given a 200ml pot of it, there is a 100ml pot also available .I did not pop into boots to see how much it cost but looked on line at http://www.boots.com/shop/productdetails.jsp?productid=1070414 Where I see it costs £6 . So if I wish to buy a new one I do not have to go to the shops but could order it this way. The body butter is in a clear plastic tub very strong; this has a black lid with the bergamot orange and olive label. There is a range of body butters featuring other fruits each has the same pot with a different label. I twist open the black lid and inside I see a green cream this looks like a thick whipped cream, or like the whipped surface of a new pot of margarine . It smells pleasant not flowery or particularly orangey but after I have it...

Butter Me Up!!!

Advantages: Smells divine, feels creamy without being greasy, good enough to eat!
Disadvantages: Isn't going to last long - might need to buy a bigger tub!!

...While shopping in Boots today for a couple of bits for a forthcoming brothday, I decided I would treat myself to something tiny and delightfully girly. As I was in the Very Large Boots Store in Newcastle, and it was Incredibly Busy, I didn't spend much time browsing through all the wondrous stuff I could buy, and bought this, as it was pretty much the first thing my gaze fell upon. In a tiny wee 50ml tub with a black lid and a clear base, it was the label on the top which alerted me to its potential wondrousness. Bergamot, orange and olive body butter. Scrum diddly, as they say in songs! The lid states the cream, which when you open the tub hits you full on with it's zesty fresh smell, is made with organic extracts of bergamot oil, orange oil and olive oil. The smell reminds me a little of the olive oil cream from Avon - delicious...
