...I first read Ballet Shoes when I was eight. It was the first of Noel Streatfield's books I'd read, and it remains my favourite. I put it away during my teenage years and forgot about it until Christmas 2007 when I watched the BBC adaptation with Emma Watson. I went to Indonesia and got the film on knock-off DVD, and immediately after watching I rang home to get my parents to order me a copy. It was a great welcome home. The book opens with 'Garnie' moving into a huge mansion, filled with fossils. She and her nurse (Nana) are moving in with her uncle. ...As some of you may already be aware, the way to my heart is with handbags and shoes. Large cash deposits are also much appreciated but don?t come along all that often. As far as shoes are concerned, I like pretty shoes, generally with sparkly bits and, ideally, bows. However, for the past couple of weeks I?ve been limping in the manner of a geriatric who has recently had a hip replaced. The range for ladies is the Jolie range with Jolie Wellington Boots, Jolie Ankle Boots and Jolie Clogs which all come in bright colours and patterns.
