Diamond review  AUDI'D RICHADA RATE THE A4 2.0 TFSI S LINE?

Advantages: Acceleration. Style. Build Quality.
Disadvantages: Power Delivery. Driving Position. Price. Equipment. Soulless. Fuel Consumption.

...THE GARAGE? At 4703mm long and 1826mm wide, unless you have a particularly small one, yes it should indeed fit inside your garage. WHICH SPECIFIC MODEL? At £27,830 (aren?t these modern day ?Cortinas? getting pricy?) and packing 211bhp, the Audi A4 2.0TFSi S Line, that I am reviewing here, is towards the top of a bewilderingly comprehensive range of models. It is the most powerful and expensive four cylinder front wheel drive A4 saloon. The A4 range starts at £20,485 for the 118bhp 1.8TFSi and tops out at a whopping £33,700 for the 237bhp 3.0 TDi Quattro (four wheel drive) Executive S Line. With each engine configuration Audi offer a quattro (four wheel drive) variant ? indeed I will be offering an argument for not offering certain models, the 2.0TFSi included, with only front wheel drive. IN WHAT CAPACITY AM I REVIEWING THIS CAR? This is...

Ford Focus 2.0 ESP

Advantages: Great driving, reliable car
Disadvantages: Ford service department

...I bought my Ford Focus in June 2006, second hand from Ford with 38,000 miles on the clock. The model I own is a 2.0 ESP facelift, with the revised headlights which include the indicator, revised bumpers with bump strips & revised metal flush skirts. Now, in August 2007 the car is on the brink of hitting 70,000 miles and it literally hasn't missed a beat. The only parts that I have had to replace that are none wear and tear are the thermorstat housing seal (Ford however will try and charge you to replace the whole housing, where infact it is invariably just the rubber seal which perishes), and a n/s/f ball joint due to excessive play when being tested for an MOT, a grand total of about £50 non-expected maintenance. Not bad at all for 30,000 miles of motoring in just over a year. And as a furthur point of note, the Michelin Pilot...

Toyota Celica 2.0 GTI 16V 1993 'K' Reg'

Advantages: Reliable as a lamp-post, great handling, sexy shape, great performer.
Disadvantages: Poor turning circle, parts expensive

...Toyota Celica 2.0 GTI 16v 5th generation ST182. British car, not import. The model I?m describing here is a ?K? reg 1993 5th generation, 2.0 16v GTI, 3SGE engined front wheel drive version of this wonderful car; it has 154 BHP on tap and is in a non turbo form. The reason for the GT4 coming about with its 200 odd HP output is because there was too much power for just a 2 wheel drive car to handle, torque steering and wheel spin being major drawbacks to power being put down on the road. So split into 4 wheel drive (GT4) evened out the power, thus enabling major upgrades in performance to be had by this body design. The Celica range harks back to the early 70?s and is still being sold today in its latest form, so they surly got something right in the design of this car; the model range has a great pedigree and I?ve always loved Jap...

2009 Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI

Advantages: Looks fantastic, build quality, good engine.
Disadvantages: Rear seats are hard to get into.

...This is our family?s newest member, a 09 plate Scirocco 2.0TSI and I?m more than impressed. There was a long wait from the factory (around 12 weeks), but it?s arrived now, and wow! We?ll start off with the looks of the car. I?d say it?s not to everyone?s taste, because it is so different, could well be a love it or hate it type of thing. It certainly get?s looks, while driving through a small town, a teenager pointed and stood with his mouth open as we cruised past. The build quality is very good as well, as you?d expect with a German car. We previously had a VW Passat in it?s place, which of course had a good quality of build, but this is something else! As soon as you open the doors it?s just in a different league to the 02 plate Passat. The interior has nice sports seats as you?d expect, but what I really like is the sports seats...

Honda Accord 2.0i, 1991 'H' Reg

Advantages: Quality, reliability, performance.
Disadvantages: Uninspiring looks, on this model year.

...This review on the Honda will be aimed at the budget second hand car market, of which there are many good examples to be had for less than £500. The Honda Accord, I recon, is one of the best cars to be had from this era and price. This model of Accord is a 2.0 16v multipoint injection, single overhead cam, (operating all the 16 valves), PGM-FI engine. First impressions of the car (depending on what you?ve been used to), can be a bit on the boring looking side. It?s all there, but it?s a bit of a bog standard looking 4 door 5 seater family saloon with all the bits in the right places. Fine for what we?re talking about here , but no style guru, compared with the slick designs of today?s market. There?s no getting away from the fact though, that this car, even at this model year is quite exceptional in its design and build quality...

Chrysler Neon 2.0 LX Auto ? A Flicker in the Dark?

Advantages: Luxurious Car for Reasonable Price
Disadvantages: Fuel Consumption Wind noise

...WHY After driving my Neon for 3.5 years and 36000 miles from new, I guess it is time I told someone about the experience. BASICs I opted for the 2.0 LX Auto which was a mere £500 dearer than the SE model at the time. (Automatic was a 'free' extra as standard). The ?included? specification is quite surprising for the on the road cost which, having (too easily) negotiated £1k off the list price, I thought was a very attractive package. There is no doubt the Neon is a good looking car, its sleek shape still turns a few heads. LUXURY The Daimler inspired comfortable leather seats and leather interior with artificial walnut trim interior gets an approving look from first time passengers. The body shape hides an impressively roomy feel. Last year, it carried two adults and 2 pre-teens on a two week camping holiday to...

2.0i Ghia - a superb family car

Advantages: Fantastic Build & Reliabilty, Very High Spec, Detailed Design
Disadvantages: Bland looks, Could be quicker, Not the ultimate driver's car

...I had a mk1 Mondeo 2.0i 16V from 1995 to 1997. It was an M registered car which I bought from a Ford dealer for £11,000. I ran this car for 2 years, which doubled the mileage from 30,000 when I bought it, to 60,000 when I sold it - yet I still managed to get £8,750 in p/x from the supplying dealer when I traded it in for my next car - an Escort Cosworth. The car was as tough as nails - I did not spend a single penny on reapirs, the only costs were mot, tyres and servicing. It was the most pleasant car interior I have ever had - the ergonomics were beautifully thought out - every switch where you wanted it, and it had the wooden dash trim, which some people loath, but I think it works really well in the mondeo. It drove supremely well, possibly a little too well for my sporty driving, as it took corners so easily. The power...

BT Home-Hub v2.0

Advantages: Looks good, comes with a good deal from BT [broadband option 3].
Disadvantages: Poor wireless signal, not compatible with printers.

...The BT Home-Hub v2.0 may look chic and stylish in comparison to previous models, but personally I have not noticed any beneficial differences between the v2.0 and the v1.0. Despite numerous claims that the wireless signal is 'twice as strong as other wireless providers', I have no reason whatsoever to endorse this. In my medium sized flat, I only receive good, stable signal in the rooms adjacent to the Hub, and in other rooms the signal repeatedly disappears completely. One of the Hub's main selling points is the many various connections which it boasts, including 4 ethernet connections and a USB socket. All previous versions of the home-hub have had the capability to connect a printer to the hub and therefore print documents wirelessly from anywhere in your home or garden. Unfortunately this is not possible with the v2.0. The hub...

2.0 litre Ford Cougar

Advantages: Economical motorway car.
Disadvantages: Not as fast as it looks

...I bought my 2.0 litre cougar in May 2005 on a V-reg plate. As I am on the road every day I decided on the 2.0 litre model for better economy. The car is based on the mkII mondeo platform and the handling is pretty good for such a big car, especially on winding roads due to Fords passive rear wheel steering. On the whole the Ford Cougar Handles very well. The car is a four seater, the front seats are supportive, firm but still comfortable. In the rear of the car slightly cramped for people with long legs. The storage space in the boot is more than adequat, you could safely a couple of trolley sized suit cases and still be able to close the boot without removing the parcel tray. The security on the car is excellent, Fords imobilisor and alarm. The car has prettyy good security for passengers should there be an accident...

Peugeut 206cc 2.0 - The drive of your life??

Advantages: The roof - excellent on sunny days
Disadvantages: Leaks

...I have owned my Peugeot 206cc 2.0 for eighteen months and so i've had plenty of time to get to know my car. Before i had a 1litre Volkswagen Polo, so i wanted something a bit more stylish and with a bit of a kick. The Peugeot 206cc has delivered that. I started looking for a new car, knowing i wanted a convertable and so i was looking for something attractive and modern but at a decent price. After looking at cars matching my criteria, i found the Peugeot 206cc was a step ahead of the rest of the field. So i now had to pick my model. I got the 2.0 litre model as i wanted to experience a new form of power. This i got. The car does 0-60 in just over 9 seconds, which is quick enough for any normal day to day driver. My 2.0litre model had the full works; air con, leather seats, power steering, c.d. player etc... and i'd recomend...
