...I am now the proud owner of a VW Bora. For those who are as unfamiliar to cars as I, Volkswagen is a major German car manufacturer with a first class reputation. Most famous for the VW Beetle (think Herbie goes to Monte Carlo and all that malarkey) and you start to put into context the long-term nature of a top draw operator. Both the personal and company car market are ultra competitive these days. Let me introduce you to Dora the Bora

Advantages: Good looking, great fuel economy
Disadvantages: Cheaper similar cars available

...I have recently bought a second hand Bora 1.9 SE TDI (130bhp). We had been looking for one of these for several months and finally found what we were looking for several weeks ago and I must say I am soooo pleased with her. I do approx 15k business miles a year so needed a car with good fuel economy and high comfort, aswell as being well built with a good life expectacy as we are not planning on changing this for a good 5 or so years, but it also needed to be big enough to transport all the trapping of a family (when it arrives). I couldn't be more pleased with "Dora". I have done approximately 1,500 miles in her since we bought her and have averaged about 50 mpg over this time. The 6 speed gear box also aids the great fuel economy. She is incredibly comfortable and although she has alot of power (being 130 bhp) I haven't found...

VW Bora - a drivers dream

Advantages: Reliable, excellent handling, cool gadgets and good fuel consumption
Disadvantages: Not as spacious as the Passat

...An excellent all rounder. We have been using it as a family car and although their are a few complaints regarding the shortage of space at the back, the car is virtually faultless. The best thing about the Bora, as any other Bora owner will tell you, is the smooth drive. Its like your on a plane. Anyone who has driven a smaller or older car will tell you that once they got into the Bora, it was like they were driving on a velvet carpet - well nearly. In terms of size and price, the Bora comes in between the VW Golf and the VW Passat and has the best of both worlds - the smoothness of the drive and the stature of the car. Inside, the car feels and looks modern, especially with the many gadgets and tools. You find new gadgets every now and again which you never thought existed. VW Bora 1.9 TDI Sport

...The Bora is Volkswagen's attempt to rival the BMW 3 series and Audi A3 and makes a good attempt. I traded in my wife's cherished Golf GTI for the Bora 1.9 TDI (diesel) Sport (150bhp) because :- a) we needed a bigger boot b) we had just bought a tent which wouldn't fit in the Golf c) the Golf was making a few dodgy sounds d) diesel sounded more economical ~~ First Impressions ~~ I actually think that the Bora looks quite sleek and sturdy with it's high boot area and slightly rounded edges. You can buy it from all the shops you'd expect to be able to buy them from including Halfords, mothercare, john lewis', toys r us etc. What do they cost: prices vary depending up on offers and stores but usually this car seat retails at £100. How do they attach? This car seat is different to many of the others on the market. It clips onto a base which is attached to your car, This makes it easy to get the car seat in and out of the car without waking up the baby. ...I bought this when I had my baby as it was apparently the best on the market and I really can't find fault with it at all it has been the most reliable of our baby products and can't rate it highly enough. This car seat is different from others as it is suitable for up to 9 months whilst the majority of others are just up to 6 months. The seat is well padded and has a 'head hugger' so it is safer for newborns. This headhugger can then be removed once your baby is big enough. The straps also can be adjusted once your baby grows so that it is still safe and comfortable. The straps are easy to use- at first they were fiddly but once you have the hang of them then you know what you're doing they're easy! once you have strapped your baby in you then pull on the straps to make them tight so that your baby is safetly in place...

Brilliant infant car seat

Advantages: Excellent for safety, comfort and totally practical
Disadvantages: no negatives for this product

...I used this for my daughter and used it from birth right through to the upper weight limit which is actually higher than most other car seats in this category. She always seemed so content in it and happily napped when travelling. The sun canopy is excellent, great for protecting the baby when driving and carrying about. Sun canopy also stores away easily when not in use, remaining attatched but out for the way. I also bought the easybase which made loading and unloading baby from car very quick and easy - especially when its raining which it so often does here. Also purchased mosquito net & Raincover both excellent purchases and in the UK I certainly needed them. I liked the fact that there were internal pads that could be removed as she grew to enable more comfort and space for her within the seat. Covers are easily removed for washing...

A must-see for all of those car mad boys!

...When I first watched this film, I thought it was a loud of rubbish. At the time I was convinced it was probably the worst Disney film that I had seen and wasn't bothered about watching it again any time soon. Noah had other plans and I am currently watching it for the hundredth time! I am not sure if it's a case of becoming familiar with something and quite liking it but this film has really grown on me. The film is based around a famous race car, Lightening Maclean, who gets lost and finds himself in a small town on Route 66 called Radiator Springs. He ends up having to stay in the town after getting arrested and being ordered to fix the road that he broke as a result of wreckless driving. ...Being a skinflint, I got mine cheap off a market stall, As it was a bargain, I decided to give it a go, instead of the stuff I usually use - Car Plan, although I have always been happy with it, I have heard people "wax" lyrical about Mer but never used it. Glad I gave it a try now. The polish is suitable for all paint finishes, including metallic, you can also use it on your caravan, bike, upvc windows or anywhere else you need a good shine. The polish comes in a plastic container, coloured blue, in the following sizes, half litre, one litre, three litres, and the massive trade size of ten litres. Recommended retail prices range from £11 for the smallest, sixteen Pounds and thirty-one for the 1 & 3 litres, then up to a whopping £71 for the large. These prices are expensive, but the polish is very good, and does tend to go a long way...
