...Star trek Borg was given to me by one of my friends, unfortunately he had lost the instruction booklet so I couldn’t play the game to its fullest. The game is about a cadet called Qaylan Furlong whose father was killed by the Borg in the battle of Wolf 359, now ten years later the Borg are attacking again and Starfleet wont let you stay aboard the star ship Cheyenne to avenge your fathers death. But with the help of Q you are taken back in time 10 years and put on the same ship as your father to give you a chance to save him and the entire federation. When I first played the game I was amazed because it is more like a TV series than a game, you get to play as the security officer. Advantages: They are bad goodies
Disadvantages: and they are good baddies

...I suppose it was only a matter of time before this Ciao member wrote an op about those dastardly devils from Star Trek, those assimilating villains known ‘collectively’ as The Borg. Borg... sounds Swedish to me

Advantages: SFX, good plot premise, acting generaly good, some of the humour works...
Disadvantages: ... while some doesn't, cheesy while trying not to be, implausible plot

...Following the extremely disappointing Generations (ST7), we were expecting this, the eight Star Trek film, to be a lot better. (In case you managed to miss it or haven't seen many of the films, all the off numbered Star Trek films up to 7 were awful, while the even-numbered films were good - strange but true?) Fortunately, we were right - First Contact, while it certainly has its flaws, is well worth seeing and Star Trek: The Next Generation fans were certainly not left feeling disappointed again. If you know the series, you'll remember that at one point, Captain Picard was assimilated by the Borg, but was rescued by his crew. Admiral, we have engaged the Borg

Advantages: Great gameplay, multiplayer mode
Disadvantages: Too many bugs, Borg can be annoying in single player

...goes, but the rewards it gives you are well worth it. As you get further into the game, and you get more advanced, a further threat hits everyone in the galaxy....the Borg. Travelling in their cubes, they fly around the galaxy, laying waste to pretty much anything and everything that stands in their way (unless you're able to muster a large fleet to stop them). They can be good during multiplayer games, as it forces the empires to make peace for a while, until the Borg are gone, but it can be really annoying at times in a single player game as they cut through everyone, sometimes ruining the game as by the time they are gone there might be only one or two enemy systems left. All in all though, this is a great game, and with the multiplayer options, and the threat of the Borg later on in the game, it's almost paradise for any Star Trek...
