...In my opinion Avent bottles look like a bottle should and have excellent wear and tear value. I prefer the look of the Avent bottle compare to the tommie tippie (closer to nature) bottles as the tommie tippie teats look too natural and I am sure thats the point but I like a bottle to look like a bottle. The Avent bottle wash well in the dishwasher, however you might not want to wash them with plates or saucepans that have just cooked Bolognese or curry as they do stain the color of the teats and lids. They can leak from time to time, so make sure before you set off that you check it first otherwise you might end up with milk all over the place. These bottle also work really well with the Avent pump. Just screw on and go. The teats also come in different sizes for thicker liquids or hungrier babies. These are not cheap at around £4...

Best Bottles Available

Advantages: Babies actually seem to like them, easy to clean, lots of accessories available so they can last you for many years
Disadvantages: none

...I started using Avent bottles with my son, George, he was breastfed but I used the Avent breast pump (which you can attached directly to the feeding bottle) to express off some milk. I started him getting used to a bottle early (2 weeks old) he took to the bottle straight away. These bottles are apparently like sucking from the breast for a baby and George certainly had no problems. You can buy all sorts of accessories to use with the bottles, ie different flow rates of teat, from slow flow suitable for breastfed babies (as breastfed babies can get addicted to bottles and go off the breast as the bottle is easier to get the milk from!) training spouts and also the new magic cup which the lid will fit directly onto the bottle (like the anyway up cup, with no spills, except you can actually get the liquid out without sucking excessively...

Hitting The Bottle!

Advantages: cheaper than Avent

...affect rather than a positive as with the large Avent bottles I am able to hold Jack in my left arm and also hold the bottle with my left hand, leaving my right hand to do other things such as read a little, drink something of my own or generally free to scratch any body part that may need a good itch!!! These Tommee Tippee bottles however have the shape where this is not really possible for me to do along with the fact that because the teat is much smaller and more flexible that if I do try and do this the teat will invariably fall from Jacks mouth or slide to the side where he cant really get a good suck. So when using these bottles I am having to use my left arm for holding and my right for feeding leaving me able to do anything else! ...avent bottles in my opinion are the best around,ive tried several other bottles and teats but avent are the only ones that dont leak all over me and the baby and that he enjoys drinking from. compared to all the other leading brands i find these are definatley the best around andthey cost about the same as all the other brands so i would go for these every time. they come in two sizes 125 ml and 260 ml and are sold in most places and you can get replacement teat sfor them too. they are ok value for money but could be cheaper i think there about 8.00 for two but you only need a few so doesnt come to too much they also fit in the brest pumps so it makes it esier if your expressing milk and for easy storage. overall very good and would def recommend to anyone....

Avent Bottles, Brilliant once you know how to put them together

When I started to bottle feed my daughter I bought the 4oz bottles which just over a month later I regretted as my little girl was wanting more than 4oz a feed which meant that I had to buy 9oz bottles instead. CLEANING The bottles come apart into 4 pieces, the bottle itself, the teet. the screw ring and the lid. The bottle is very easy to clean when using a bottle brush, if you dont have one then you will find it very hard to get your hand to the bottom of the bottle to wash it out properly. ...i started bottle feeding my little girl at about 8 weeks old. She was very happy on the breast but as i had to prepare both myself and her for my return to work i started introducing the occassional bottle feed. She took to the Avent wide neck bottle instantly. She was quite obviously very happy with the flow and the teat. However, as she got a little older and i had returned to work she was put onto the bottle for all her day feeds. Due to the increased use of the bottles i began to realise that it wasn't just a the odd time that the bottle would leak from the neck when making up the feeds, but the bottles often had to be undone and done up again 4, 5, or even 6 times before the top of the bottle would seal to the neck. MAM Ultivent Feeding Bottle - It leaks

Advantages: Soft teat, easy cleaning, great design (look)
Disadvantages: Removable bottom part seems to wear easily causing milk to leak

...I used this anti-colic bottle as my daughter uses the MAM dummies and seems to get on with them best. The design also looks completely different than other feeding bottles and I thought it to be a great idea that the bottom is detachable. We all know the malarkey trying to get to the bottom of the bottle with a bottle cleaning brush and resorting to all sorts of tools to remove the formula powder remains. Unfortunately, that is where the problem lied. After a few times unscrewing and sterilising the bottom part, the bottle started leaking quite severely. My baby ended up several times with a soaked through babygrow. The screw track seems to wear out a bit. Review of MAM Single Pack 260ml Ultivent Feeding Bottle

As close to nature as you can get with a bottle

Advantages: BPA free; good at helping you combine breast and bottle feeding
Disadvantages: Bottles can discolour; markings on the bottle are not very clear
