The Bosnian War, through the eyes of those who survived it...

Advantages: Stark and beautiful, and ultimately life-affirming.
Disadvantages: May be too harrowing for some.

...The Bosnian capital Sarejevo spent three years under siege during the Bosnian War; photographer and lecturer Paul Lowe was there to cover much of it, and the result is "Bosnians". A collection of black and white photographs focusing on the ordinary people of an encircled city, the result is frightening, harrowing, but ultimately life-affirming. I was lucky enough to pick up my copy in Sarajevo...

The Bosnian War as Theatre of the Absurd

Advantages: Funny satire--will make you laugh and think; atypical ending.
Disadvantages: Will not make you smile.

In 1993, during the Bosnian war, a small relief band of Bosnian soldiers gets lost in the fog one night, and when the mist clears with the next day?s sunrise, they find to their horror that they?ve wandered too close to the Serbian lines.
