Bad Bad Whiskey Long awaited vinyl reissue of Big Boss Man's 2001 album debut "Humanize" following 2006's CD reissue. A recordbox essential for any DJ and a clear definition of the Big Boss Man sound - a hip Hammond hybrid of 60's and 70's drenched R'n'B, Funk, Latin, Jazz, Soul and Pop. Unavailable on LP for several years, but back by popular demand fuelled by the recent release of Big Boss Man's third album 'Full English Beat Breakfast'. This is a brand new cut of the LP and is pressed on virgin vinyl! Since its release album tracks have featured on numerous European and US compilations, as well as the whole album being used as the soundtrack of the BAFTA nominated short film "Sweet" featuring The Mighty Boosh, and in 2009 'Sea Groove' was used by the Red Cross for a nationwide campaign in the USA. The original 7' is now valued at £25 in the official Record Collector guide - although that's if you can find one! 'Party 7' was also picked up in 2006 for Nike's worldwide World Cup 'JOGA TV' campaign featuring Thierry Henry and Eric Cantona. The band have been described by Russian TV as 'the Worlds hottest Hammond beat group' and currently hold the record for the longest drum break at the 2007 World Breaks & Beats Festival in Helsinki! Big Boss Man have also worked on numerous other projects including remixes for Paul Weller (The Bottle), a solo project from Nasser as The Bongolian (three albums The Bongolian, Blueprint, Outer Bongolia for Blow Up) on which he played all the instruments himself. ... less

Winner continues the trip through 60's Funk, along the way taking in Bongo/Fuzz in "Everybody Boogaloo", Latin Soul in "Complicated Lady", French Beat in "Tu As Gaché", Floor-fillers such as "Kelvin Stardust" (due to be featured in Ugly Betty in 2010), Boogaloo in, er, "Boogaloo" and general Hammond/Moog mentalness everywhere else. The album was produced by the band and Morgan Nicholls (The Streets / Muse / Senseless Things / Morgan). Morgan is the son of Immediate Records' in-house songwriter Billy Nicholls, so the studio was choc-full of groovy stuff: The Who's Hammond, Steve Marriott's first guitar, Clavis, Wurlis etc, etc. All of which were put to good use on the album! Since its release tracks from Winner have featured on numerous European and US compilations, and as well several ad campaigns. Big Boss Man formed in 1999 when three long time friends Nass, Trev and Scott, got together for some Hammond heavy action. They released their album debut 'Humanize' (Blow Up) in 2001 which precipitated a wave of interest in the band, and was a clear definition of the BBM sound: a hip Hammond hybrid of 60's and 70's drenched R'n'B, Funk, Latin, Jazz, Soul and Pop. The album went on to be used exclusively as the soundtrack for the 2002 BAFTA nominated short film 'Sweet' featuring The Mighty Boosh.
