...The hotel Bahams is part of the Fiesta club in Playa D'en Bossa. There are several sites nextdoor to each other that make up the group and share facilities such as tennis courts and football courts.I loved my stay in Hotel Bahamas! This was my first time in ibiza & im a passionate clubber! The room was very clean and staff were friendly. The food was excellent and i am quite particular about what i eat. We stayed half board and Breakfast and Dinner were self service buffet style. Foods inc - breakfast: selection of cerals, fresh fruits, yoghurts, crossiants & other bread choices, full english, selection of cold cut meats. Dinner: Rice, pasta, fish, vegetables, cold cut meats, bolognase sauce, chips, Hot meats, yoghurts, mousses, fruits, The hotel buildings are apartement style blocks with a balcony. ...Anybody can recognize "The Girl From Ipanema", it's a classic. But where did it come from? Where did Bossa Nova spread its roots? Pianist Tom Jobim is credited for the composition of most of the classic Bossa Nova standards, but is was João Gilberto who took these standards, and interpreted on the guitar what we now identify as Bossa Nova. By harmonizing the chords on the guitar with the traditional Brazilian Samba rhythm, Gilberto evolved Jobims' compositions and popularized the style. Gilberto's guitar playing is virtuous, but what really captures me is his voice. He sings with a "blown" quality as if he is blowing air from his gut, which produces an intimate close-to-the-microphone sound. Mellow and relaxing with amzingly simple guitar style.

Advantages: Unique music style, relaxed and mellow
Disadvantages: You'll waste your whole day listening to his songs

...speaks French as her second language. The first 2 lines in the lyrics all mean "hey beautiful, what's up" in Italian and Spanish. The third line means "but beautiful, I don't know how to speak French" and then "so you'll have to speak to me some other ways" in English. I played this song to my friends and after I explained the lyrics to them, they fell in love right away with it. The Bossa Nova style in this song just adds another perspective to the album. It shows his creativity and the ability to implement other styles into his style, so they sound "great and wierd" and you'll know right away that is Jack Johnson. He always appears on the media with his Cole Clark acoustic guitar. ...Firstly it is important to note that this hotel is no longer run by the Fiesta group, as suggested in the title. It was taken over little over a year ago, however is still in the transformation stage. Having recently stayed in this hotel myself I was very impressed by both the quality and value for money here. The hotel was previously a Fiesta hotel, however has recently been taken over. While there is still evidence of the Fiesta presence - towels, plates etc, there are plans in place for a complete refurbishment this winter. We were lucky enough to stay in one of the rooms which had already had the refurbishment. Disadvantages: 'Rose & Charcoal' is a better album.

...I have used Clean 2.0 and 5.0 for the past four years. This software really works great! Does a great job of reducing all those ugly pops, clicks, and scratches from the sound of your records. This software takes a CD burned impression of your scratchy vinyl record, then cleans off about 95%-99% of the noise, clicks, and pops that your record produces. You then burn the cleaned version onto your CD and there you go! I have cleaned up my entire record collection, and sold the old records on ebaY. I would like to just quickly say, I love the album cover, a 50s style microphone dressed in a tuxedo and wearing headphones, I'm looking around on eBay to get a life sized ornament. After a short intro, 'Motivational Speaker', a catchy remix, taken from an old instructional army video (something DJ's have no problem getting their hands on), '(My 1st) Big Break' a swinging beat rhythm and jive feel, with double time feel guitars and a well done mix of samples and noises. 'The Garden', one of my favourites on the album, uses a bossa nova style (Brazilian music), with some excellent female vocals, deep beats and great scratch work. 'What's the Altitude', is recognisable hip hop and a catchy guitar rhythm, making good use of beats and percussion. 'Metrorail Thru Space' seems to be mellow drum...

...I don't know if this album received that much attention when it came out but I've been listening to it lately a lot. I'm a saxophone player, and Getz is not even usually one of my favorites. I always thought his sound was too lightweight or something. The only albums I liked were the early Bossa Nova ones, but not any more. He plays so soulfully on this album, it's like he's literally crying, wailing, and his sound is so beautiful and big and perfect intonation--all the more amazing since he had terminal cancer at the time of the recording. You would never know it. This is a very arranged album with lots of horns and synthesized instruments and percussion and lots of different styles and grooves, but don't let that discourage you because it's very intimate and Stan is the only soloist, blowing all the way through.
