...I like my home comforts when I am travelling abroad, but Mr Tart is quite happy to stay in any old hostel. We were looking for somewhere to stay on a trip to Boston and had decided that a guest house would be a happy medium. However, they weren?t that cheap and when I had a look on Expedia and found a Hilton for less money I couldn?t believe my luck! LOCATION: This Hilton is located in Boston?s Financial District. It is at 89 Broad Street. Despite it being in the Financial District we found it very easy to walk from the hotel to the main tourist sites of the city. Quincy Market and the Old State House were only 10 minutes walk away. PRICES: The price of this particular hotel seems to vary a lot depending on when you stay and who you book through. As the hotel is in the Financial District it puts up a lot of business...

BOSTON IN DECEMBER

Advantages: Excellent dollar rate, laid back city
Disadvantages: Spent too much shopping and did not get to see the famous New England Fall trees!

...to the New England Aquarium – found off central pier – just take the T to Aquarium and it is easily found. Admission for adults was $15. We spent a good 3 hours wandering around and believe me we could have spent longer. Its great educational entertainment for all ages. The penguins as you enter are ear shatteringly noisy – but hysterical to watch their carrying on! Follow the displays around and take a look at aquatic life from all over the globe. Although the piece de resistance has got to be the centre piece Giant Ocean Tank. Filled with 200000 gallons of sea water – you can see a cross section of oceanic life – from Caribbean reef culture – there are huge tortoises, sharks, tropical fish and enormous rays. So we were in Boston in December – the main bulk of our time was spent shopping...

JML Fresh Air Globe

...The idea is that by swirling water around (or something more scientific but swirling is what it looks like), particles will be filtered out of the air and deposited in the water bowl leaving you with cleaner, fresher air. It claims to remove pet odours, harmful bacteria and neutralise other odours. The unit comes in three parts - the base with light & power switch, the water globe and the lid. There is a vent on the lid of the globe from which the air (and I assume the water particles) are emitted. Cost £40 plus £5 postage direct from JML, available in two colours Use It's very easy to use - you fill the bowl to the recommended level, put the lid on, plug it into the mains and switch it on. There are a number of light options ranging from one static colour, strobe effect, neutral or no light. You can add oils to the water bowl however...

They are used frequently in the classroom, so I figured it would be something she would have come across, and would know vaguely how to use. Freshen your room with Fresh Air Globe

Advantages: Definitely does help to freshen the air drawing in impurities
Disadvantages: Main unit is £39.99 and replacement oils are £9.99 each

...I purchased the JML Fresh Air Globe and am glad I did! The globe comes with 2 fragrance oils - 1 eucalyptus and 1 lavender which offer both a stimulating or soothing experience. Within the unit there are coloured led lights which change randomly thus creating a relaxing atmosphere when using the appliance in a darkened room. It is amazing how much dirt the water collects (much better in the water than breathing it in). The only drawback with this appliance is that replacement oils are a bit pricey at £9.99. I have been using the JML Fresh Air Globe for about a year now and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Maintenance is exceptionally easy. When the water becomes cloudy simply empty the basin, rinse and refill. The filters are easy to clean too and unclick so you can get access....

Boston is a City that one and a half million people call home, (the 10th largest in the USA). ~O WHAT I SAW O~ My half day meeting was at Cambridge University, (one of the 60 plus Colleges or Universities). I was the Executive Producer of a Documentary Film and I was talking to show it to the Dean of the Fine Arts Department before we "color corrected it". He met me at the Airport but had to wait a long time because know one ever told me that you could not bring a movie into the United States without special papers. Advantages: Historic, culturally diverse and not too huge a city.

...Wyndham Boston Room rates: We visited the Wyndham Boston in September 2005 and booked via the Wyndham's own website which not only guarantees the best rates (and this is true as I did a LOT of checking!) it also entitles you to membership of Wyndham By Request whereby you specify your room type preferences such as bedding and also a free welcome drink and snack upon arrival; a nice touch! We were also contacted on two occasions by our Wyndham Request Manager Jessica to check if everything was okay with our stay. We paid approx $160 for a twin room including breakfast. If you can be flexible over dates then you can get some great deals on room rates with some rooms only rates being available from $120 +. Boston Stump bowled me over.

Advantages: Beautiful picturesque, in middle of a lovely market town

...~~ The Boston Stump ~~ We were halfway through our holiday week and decided to take a wonder around Boston town and to visit the 14th century St Botolph's Parish Church the famous Boston Stump. The parish church was first built in 1309 making it nearly 700yrs old, the work on the tower started a century later at around 1425-1430 and was not completed until 1510-1520, so you will notice a slight difference in the architectural design. It is speculated that the name Boston Stump came about because it originally should have donned a spire, but instead it has a 'stump' appearance, but in fact where the name originated from no-one knows. This is still a working church holding regular services, weddings, funerals, christenings etc. Talking of christening, the font is spectacular and was given to the church in 1853, it is decorated...
