Ramada Encore Bournemouth - Customer Service Needs Improving
Advantages: Clean spacious rooms
Disadvantages: Customer service levels lets the hotel down
...The Ramada Encore in Bournemouth is a well placed hotel within walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants as well as the beach and surroundings attractions. At the time of writing there are over 70 Ramada hotels in the UK.
ARRIVAL AND CHECK IN
The hotel was easy enough to spot from the main road as it has a large sign in front to indicate its presence. We drove into the car park at the rear of the hotel and managed to find a parking space. There were also guest parking spaces at the front of the hotel and underground parking available with a lift to bring you up to reception. The car park has around 80 spaces.
We were able to enter the hotel through the rear entrance and went to reception which was just a few yards away. There were two sets of people checking in but we didn?t have to wait as one set had just...

Welcome to Sunny Bournemouth !
Advantages: Centrally located hotel in Bournemouth
Disadvantages: Old building means prone to squeaky floorboards
...I recently had to attend a course for work, which involved several overnight stays in Bournemouth. I opted to stay in the RAC rated **** Norfolk Royale Hotel, located in the central town area of Bournemouth. Arriving at the hotel, there is an area at the front where you can drive in and park whilst you check in. (You can also park in this area overnight, or in the underground carpark - each charged at £9 per night).
Checking in is straightforward - although you will need to leave credit / debit card details, but this is standard practice. Reception is in the lobby area - a plush, well furbished area with comfortable chairs, an open fire and a bar.
You will be given a keycard, and told where your room is. (On my visits, a porter service was not visable, although may have been available on request).
The hotel itself is quite old...

Queens hotel Bournemouth
Advantages: Great facilities and location
Disadvantages: Some rooms on the small side
...Getting there
Our family stayed at the Queen?s Hotel Bournemouth for 2 nights back in May 2007. The drive down from North London is 112 miles and took around 3 Hours 20 Minutes which included a 30 minute stop over. The Hotel is located on Meyrick Road, just a minutes walk from the sea front and a 15 minute walk to the Pier.
There is room for about 15 cars in the car park at the front of the Hotel, with room for a further 20 cars at the rear. This is free to use for guests and you give your car registration details when you check in. The hotel has 109 rooms and deluxe suites situated over 4 floors. There is a lift near the reception to all floors except lower ground which has just 6-8 steps, so the Hotel is ideal for the elderly.
Rooms
Choices of rooms range from four-poster bridal suite rooms to deluxe, family and executive...

Getting around Bournemouth
Advantages: The review tells the story
Disadvantages: The review tells the story
...INTRODUCTION
I thought I would write about how to get around in Bournemouth for two main reasons. The first, is that I live here/there so I am in a good position to inform people about it. The second reason, is that Bournemouth is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the United KIngdom and many people will visit at some point during their life. Before I get into the main part of the review, I will say that travelling in Bournemouth isn't pretty good or easy. That's why people need to be informed.
ROAD (CAR)
Bournemouth is particularly prone to heavy traffic, throughout the year. The main reason for the large number of traffic jams on the road, is as a result of the road network. As Bournemouth has grown and developed, new roads and access have had to be built. It is impossible to reach some areas of the town...

Bournemouth Rocks
Advantages: Pls see op
Disadvantages: Pls see op
..., or hop on the regular ferries that make the brief crossing. But if all that sounds like too much hassle, don't worry, because Bournemouth's beaches are more than adequate.
Bournemouth beach and the sea that laps up to it have a good history of cleanliness. The waters have received the Blue Flag award for lack of pollution on numerous occasions and are safe to swim in. The beaches are well looked after and tend also to be clean and litter-free, although in high season this may not always be the case in the busiest areas. Life guards are plentiful and well-trained. And usually gorgeous? but that?s another story.
Things To Do, Places To See?
As Bournemouth isn?t a very old town there?s little in the way of historical interest. Probably the nearest it gets is the Russell Coates Museum and Art Gallery, which is full of various...

It's better in Bournemouth
Advantages: Lots to do, gardens, beaches, night life.
Disadvantages: Expensive.
...it's not open yet!), bus tours, swimming pools and waterslides, and an art gallery and museum.
There are numerous hotels, from really expensive down to little guest houses in the outskirts of the town.
Bournemouth has an average selection of shops, all within easy walking distance of each other. Particularly noteworthy (i.e. shops which are not found in every other town under the sun!) are Borders Bookshop, Shakeaway Gourmet Milkshakes (heaven!) and the recently opened New Look superstore. You may not think this is worth writing home about, but it is worth a look just because it is HUGE! Shopping in Bournemouth is a pleasant experience as most of the Town Centre is now pedestrianised. However, short stay parking is known for being very expensive.
The night life is good, with many, many pubs and night clubs to suit most people...

Bournemouth
Advantages: Beaches,Attractions
Disadvantages: Housing, Parks
...Bournemouth, that was probably the best place I ever went to on holiday there are so many places to see and so much to do. A ferry trip and a short drive away is the stunning studland beaches the sand is soft and warm and the sea blue and relitavily clear, an unusual sight around there. The nearby village of Christchurch is cultural beautiful religous and fun the shops are interesting and the food delicous. In Bournemouth however there is the oceanarium a superb display of sealife from around the world. There is also the BIC (bournemouth International Center) has a range of activities such as swimming. The pool has features such as a wave generator and a water slide. The shopping facilities are exelent and the cafes the same. So if you were concidering coming to bournemouth then i would definately go. The town and the surrounding area...

A decent but basic 2 star hotel near Bournemouth Pier
Advantages: Good value for money and good location.
Disadvantages: Based on the price, none.
...I often stay in Bournemouth when visiting my Dad who only has a one bedroom flat.
I have tried a few hotels and this one was okay. When I stayed in the hotel in September 2008 the rooms were undergoing a refit and being modernised. I managed to stay in one of the rooms that has already been modernised and it provided a comfortable stay.
I paid £59 for a one night stay in a double room on a room only basis but this was still in high season. Room rates in low season are approximately £25 lower in price.
The room had an en suite bathroom with a bath that had a shower head and shower screen built on to it.
Their was an LCD TV screen mounted on the wall of the bedroom although the number of channels was fairly limited. Tea and coffee making facilities, extra pillows and blankets in a cupboard. The room was warm, adjustable central...

The Art of Death
Advantages: Good second half, some interesting details
Disadvantages: Clunky plot, a bit meandering
...halfway through it was much better.
The main character is Adelia - "The Mistress of the Art of Death" - i.e a forensic pathologist. Her struggle to conceal her profession is quite prominent in the plot as female doctors were unusual in the twelfth century.
She is helping Simon of Naples discover the killer through the clues left on the bodies of the victims. I found this quite interesting although I'm not sure how realistic it would be in the twelfth century.
The plot does wander a bit as it is so concerned with Adelia and her origins and training. The character of Rowley (the King's so-called tax inspector) is ok but the romance seems to have been thrown in as a bit of an afterthought and didn't add anything to the story for me.
Mansur and Gyltha offered some light relief as the servants as did Gyltha's grandson Ulf. Simon of Naples was...

Art Attack?
Advantages: Keeps the action going.
Disadvantages: Unoriginal, poor performances.
...74. Kickboxer 3: The Art of War (1992)
This all feels a little like déjà vu, especially after watching American Ninja 3. Once again there is a fighting tournament in a tropical location. This time Rio De Janeiro. An American kickboxing champion, David Sloan, arrives with his sensei, Xian, in tow. On first sight Xian looked a little like Lee Van Cleef, or maybe that was the spectre of 1984 TV series Master Ninja repeating on me. Either way, it helps signify that this was the tale end of a long running era of budget American martial arts films and television shows.
The first classic cliché comes quickly when the hapless heroes are mugged by a small Brazilian boy, Marcos, and his sister, Isabella. Naturally, after a long chase through the back alleys of Rio and the kicking of same random thugs, they befriend the knife wielding...
