For the lazy me......
Review of BP by
arch76
Advantages: 24-hour shop,Very good customer service, The food is very good.
Disadvantages: No disadvantages
...If it isn't for BP, the 24-hour shopping experience, I don't know what people like me would do. I can get quite lazy at times. I can actually get very, very lazy at times but surely you don't expect me to speak of myself in such an unflattering way! :)
Okay, coming back to the topic, as I was saying, whenever I tend to 'forget' to get something like sugar for the early morning tea or eggs for breakfast , I just ask my darling husband to hop over to BP to get the goods. I simply love BP because of the convenience it provides.
About BP
~*~*~*~*~
Okay, now a little about BP. BP in short, is Britain's leading fuel retailer. It is also the world's third largest oil company.
Its main business is petroleum, with an expanding retail store focus. It has 1700 service stations in the UK, throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern...

BP Petrol Station Harrow
Review of BP Bessborough Connect, Middlesex by
costas1234
Advantages: Easy transport access
Disadvantages: High Petrol prices.
.... The shop has a cash machine, clean toilets for public useage, and friendly customer service staff. In terms of value for money it is no different in price than going to a newsagency. Some of the food products such as sandwiches, and cakes seem quite high.
In terms of local petrol competition, there is a Somerfield garage similar to BP station located nearby in North Harrow, literally 300 meters away, and there is Shell garage located at South Harrow, which is about 1 mile away.
I envisage I shall be adding pictures and more details at some stage,...

Ultimate fuel works in practice.
Review of Alternative Fuels by
RICHADA
Advantages: Widely available. Excellent value for money. Kinder to the environment.
Disadvantages: Looks expensive, not all garages stock Ultimate diesel.
...that the lowest possible emissions are puffing out of the exhaust.?
Regular and proper servicing are paramount with any vehicle of course, but the majority of drivers give little thought to the liquid that actually powers their vehicle.
Think about it for a moment, do you:
a) fill up at the local supermarket because it's convenient?
b) fill up with the same brand every time because of "habit" or brand loyalty?
c) use the cheapest fuel locally available?
d) fill up anywhere (don't care because company pays!)?
or e) seek out what you think is the best quality fuel?
During my 25 year motoring history I have fallen into all of these categories APART from d) which is indefensable under any circumstances - motorway service stations must be avoided at all cost!
Along with, I suspect, the majority of clued up drivers, I was very suspicious of BP...

Wow a review on a petrol station
Review of BP Byron Filling Station, London by
Dan_ep
Advantages: Convenient
Disadvantages: Not as cheap as the nearby Tesco filling station
...I saw this as a review and seeing as I regularly top up at thsi particular station, I thought Id let you all know about it.. although I have to admit Filling Stations dont spark much much interest!
This BP branded garage is situated on the infamous North Circular Road (A406), and can only be accessed when travelling eastbound. It is about 1 mile past the East Finchley turning.
It is easy to see and so you shouldnt past it by mistake. That said, this is one of the few places on the A406 where there isnt too much traffic so you could whizz past it if you are speeding (would serve you right!)
It is clean and large, and has the full range of unleaded, LPG and diesel fules. It can get busy, but I dont usually have to queue for more that 5 mins.
One of the better things about this garage is that it has a 'BP connect shop, which...

Nectar hasn't kept me sweet
Review of Nectar Card by
rdobbie
Advantages: Funky card design, some reasonable deals to be had at restaurants
Disadvantages: Poor rate of return, awful customer service, BP's staff not trained in using the system
...petrol stations, Debenhams and Barclaycard.
BP and Barclaycard already had loyalty schemes in place which were replaced by Nectar. Another notable player in the scheme was Argos, who decided to accept Nectar vouchers as part or full payment towards their goods, although they declined the idea of issuing points on purchases.
The scheme promised to be bigger and better than anything than had gone before, with customers being given 100 introductory points if they registered their card on the internet. So how embarrassing that just a day after launching, the online registration facility spectacularly crashed and took Nectar's IT department a couple of months to fix. We will never know how Nectar failed to predict the surge for new registrations when rolling out such a huge nationwide scheme, but already the management of Nectar was starting...

BP Garage
Review of BP Ashchurch Service Station, Gloucestershire by
nutter_but_nice
Advantages: 24 hour, close to M5, cashpoint, lorry area,
Disadvantages: Faulty air/vaccum machines, bit expensive
...Well, Ashchurch nr Tewkesbury is my old hometown, so I felt that I should probably review this here petrol station to give it a local's point of view. It's situated very closely to Junction 9 of the M5, so if you're running out of petrol/diesel after a long journey then it's in an excellent spot to stop off and top up. It's also very close to a large industrial estate so caters well for lorrys as well with a separate area for them to fill up.
There's a small amount of parking on the site as well for those who require other facilities that the garage has to offer other than petrol. And of course an air and vaccum area. Though these tend to be faulty at times I've found, so be careful. There is also a cash point to the side of the building, which has been a saviour at various times on my way for a night out because there isn't another...

Fuelling the argument....
Review of Petrol Price Debate by
ndf9876
Advantages: For cheap (er) petrol, try using the Sainsbury's voucher scheme or B.P.
Disadvantages: Greedy fat-cats and a greedy Government
...As the owner of a five-litre car, I'm probably one of the biggest contributors to the greedy government's petrol-price scam. Over the past few years, petrol prices have rocketed, and why? Because the Government has to get its money somewhere, to pay for the various services it provides us. Although that last statement isn't strictly true - certain services are paid from National Insurance, some from Income Tax etc etc. So just why is petrol so expensive? Greed. Think about it. The petrol is taxed at source (ie the providers of the petrol are taxed), then the petrol stations pay tax on buying it, and then WE pay tax at the pump. Most of the price of petrol is tax, with a good portion also going in greedy petrol provider's pockets. I think it would help to put this into perspective for you by saying that, in America, petrol is FIVE TIMES...

More Than Just A Petrol Station . . . .
Review of BP Chalfonts Way, Bucks by
jjllss
Advantages: Everything you could need, great selection, good location.
Disadvantages: No car vacuum, sometimes a queue for the car wash.
...Situated along a busy road between Amersham and Little Chalfont, BP is on the right hand side if you are heading for Amersham with the Pineapple pub on the other side.
Generally this particular petrol station serves its purpose well, what with its many amenities, there are a lot of selling points to this site.
However busy it gets and busy it is, there is usually always a free pump and if not, you never tend to be waiting long for one. One downside is the queuing space, or lack of. If there is more than one or two cars queuing you are practically waiting on the road, signalling in, which is never nice!
There are 2 parking spaces plus a disabled bay too, opposite the pumps with another 4 spaces next to the car wash, these are positioned perfectly for anyone checking their tyres or topping up their water or oil. Both water and air...

Rewards are sweeter.....
Review of Nectar Card by
mi_ke
Advantages: money for shopping
Disadvantages: how can there be any? You dont pay for it!
...by adding the reward card number on my Reward card, onto the application form when applying.
Alternatively, you can apply on line at www.nectar.com, but when I applied the facility was unavailable due to overwhelming response. Which I must say was a bit of a pain.
And now for the interesting bit!
~~~WHATS IN IT FOR YOU!~~~
~~~HOW MANY POINTS CAN I GET AND WHERE?~~~
SAINSBURY’S STORES
At Sainsbury’s you can collect 2 points for every £1 you spend at Sainsbury’s Locals, Centrals, Savacentres and Supermarkets, including their petrol stations, and with their financial arm, Sainsbury’s Bank, you can collect points by using one of their credit cards, using their car insurance, home, pet and travel cover along with a wide range of other products and services.
This is great, as my mum and dad both have their car and travel insurance with them...

Park and Fly
Review of Securapark at Manchester Airport by
StereoMike1983
Advantages: Cheap Parking near Manchester Airport
Disadvantages: Some Miserable Staff
...and information came through from simplyparking.co.uk and we looked forward to our trip.
GETTING THERE
Having travelled up from my house near Milton Keynes, we got to the outskirts of Manchester. The booking confirmation had directions from the M56 so we headed towards that road from the M6.
This led to our first problem, as we were unaware that you can't get direct from the M6 onto the M56 eastbound, something they should maybe have mentioned on the instructions. Having sorted ourselves we headed into Manchester looking for junction 3A. If you aren't used to the area then do be careful, as you have to come off at 3A then go back onto the westbound carriageway to get to J4.
Once off at J4 the instructions were clear:
At the 3rd set of lights, turn left into Rowlandsway, 50yds on the left is a BP Station
Securapark up/down ramps are next to BP...
