My interest aroused, I opened the box, and inside found two vinyl discs of about 10'' diameter enveloped in white paper; also encased were several sheets printed with red letters on a gray surface. The inscriptions seemed to be foreign, more distinctly: French. Between the lines I beheld strange photographs. On their themes I could only phantasize, lacking the literary context thereof...

I have to say , they are very addictive. e-bay and Qxl.com, were in my opinion the best 2, and most easy to find your way around. If I were made to choose "gun to yer head", I would have to go for e-bay. Registration takes a couple of minutes, and they send you login details to your e-mail almost instantaneously, so you can buy immediately. Be wary though, I almost fell into the "oh, I neeeed that" trap much too often, and bid on all sorts of bizarrities. You can get anything from a dining room table, to old Roy of the Rovers comics, and some mighty fine bric-a-brac , if you're in to that kind of thing. ...my local homebase has , i am afraid, forgotten that it is a diy store. it is giving icreasing amounts of valuable space to all manner of soft furnishings, cookware, outdoor toys, brewing & petffod, sainsbury own brand stuff, video, bric-a-brac gifts. they need to get a grip before they turn into a rather expensive 'poundstretcher' store. increasingly i notice that diy'ers are turning to catalogue and online suppliers who seem to have 100% in stock and far superior prices (and no damned 'hollywood cushions') the staff are attractively turned out in their uniforms and the good news is that you can always get into the car park! i notice that they have decided not to give their save and spend discount to their online customers - why not?...

...of the five stores that sell furniture, some of the furniture is in good condition and some of it is far from it but still the price tags are still ridiculously high. All of the stores have large posters on their doors, they need donations of good quality clothing and bric a brac. Some of the stores want volunteers and one shop is asking for a `Man with his own van` who is willing to give up some of his spare time ! A few years ago I was a volunteer and I enjoyed it but now the whole charity thing is big business. The idea of providing clothes, toys, videos and books for young families who are on a tight budget seems to have gone out of the window and it is now `Every man for himself`.
