Bradford City - Not so shitty
Review of Bradford City by
killip
Advantages: Big Div 1 side
Disadvantages: Only a small premiership side
...I am most proud to say that I support Bradford City Football Club. Not only because, as a Bradfordian, it is my moral obligation to support my home team, but also I feel that the team deserves success and does not deserve other Bradfordians snubbing them and refusing to support them because they are "crap". These people are not true Bradfordians and any Bradfordian who supports Leeds Utd wants shooting.
Bradford City AFC was the first Association Football Club in Bradford, and it started off as a rugby league club believe it or not. There used to be two rugby League clubs in Bradford - Bradford RLFC and Bradford Northern. Bradford RLFC became a football club in 1903 and was named "Manningham AFC" and later "Bradford City AFC" and after that Bradford Northern became "Bradford AFC" and later "Bradford Park Avenue AFC". Another team...

Welcome to Bradford - UK`s Heroin Capital !!!!!
Review of Bradford (England) by
reallife
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Everything
...Hello , Im not going to mince my words here about bradford , west yorkshire . As most people allready know about bradford, it is one of the most ethnic-ly dense areas in the whole of the united kingdom. To the outsider it probably seems like another place that has its ups and downs ,pretty much like any large town / city.
Now this is where it gets interesting (sadly ). Bradford is dubbed ``Heroin Capital`` of the uk. Why ???
If you ever go there, you will see shitty little terraced houses, sqaulor, and deprivation on a mass scale in some of these inner city housing estates, where mostly asian families live, however what will more than likely catch your attention is the flash sports cars parked outside these houses, the lambos, the ferraris, etc. Infact Bradford has more ferraris and lambos per head than almost any uk city...

Bradford:Not as bad as it is painted !
Review of Bradford (England) by
ashford
Advantages: Friendly,multi-cultural,multi-ethnic city Great asian Food
Disadvantages: Unfashionable image. Some poor housing areas
...The much-maligned Yorkshire city of Bradford has had its detractors over the years and could fairly be described as rather unfashionable. However, a lot has changed in recent years and the city has become quite an important centre for tourism.
The city has several good hotels, the fine Alhambra theatre, the interesting quarter known as "Little Germany", a progressive University with a good reputation especially in business studies, the Museum of Film and Photography and it is a good base for tours to Bronte Country, and to the lovely Yorkshire Dales. Both soccer and rugby league are popular in Bradford and Bradford City AFC are a Premier Division team. Bradford Northern are the Rugby League team.
Bradford has always had a large immigrant community and today if you want to sample the "Flavours of Asia" there is probably no city...

A park in Bradford and a grand hall.
Review of Lister Park (Bradford) by
mumsymary
Advantages: good green cultural place
Disadvantages: ?
...A park up north.
We went visiting friends in Bradford in the summer and took a visit to Lister Park. When we were young things we used to live nearby my husband and this friend were at uni there we 6 of us living in a big terrace in Manningham nr lister park and used to walk through it and visit the Cartwright hall a museum in the centre of the park. This park had a lottery grant of 3.2 million pounds in 1997 and we visited to see the smartened up park.
A little history.
Lister Park was bought by Bradford council from Samuel Cunnliffe Lister 1870 on condition it was used as a public park.
This park contains Cartwright hall which was built between 1902 and 1904 and is the cities Art gallery and museum.
Parking for this park is on the street, but if you are in Bradford the buses go past this park and stop regularly, bus fares...

Beat all the odds again Bradford
Review of Bradford City by
paulloney
Advantages: You don’t need to be the most skilful team to survive.
Disadvantages: Seeing the top teams beating teams like Bradford
...Last season Bradford city fought to their death to avoid going straight back down again with a victory on the last day at Anfield against Liverpool. Against all the odds, they survived not by playing the most attractive football that you have ever seen but by determination and team sprit.
They were criticised by the so-called football experts as “the worst team in the premier league” but they were wrong. The main football expert to criticised Bradford is Rodney Marsh who put them down every game they played in last season, but Bradford city supporters will have the last laugh tomorrow when they will be able to see Rodney marsh getting his hair shaved for charity, because of his comment he made to Bradford by saying “you are going down”. Rodney will honour his bet he made to Bradford.
Do not miss Rodney getting scalped tomorrow (26th...

Bradford - Doomed this time
Review of Bradford City by
flashpointz
Advantages: everyone loves an underdog, bulldog spirit
Disadvantages: too many veterans
...Were we all glad that Bradford City stayed up last season?
I was because it just proved that the litlle 'uns can compete at this level with the Megastars. Bradford's story gives hope to all those clubs in the lower divisions, just like Watford, Charlton and Barnsley did before - except Bradford stayed up.
It is amazing though if you run through their team. Plenty of old stagers in the line up. I think I remember hearing that in that final game of last season the average age of the side was 29 ?
Way too much 'experience'.
And those players really should be helping as side out of Division One - not staying in the Premiership.
New Manager Chris Hutchings may have new ideas - may bring in new players - but I just feel that Bradford have had their 'day in the sun' and come May next year they will once more be looking at Division One...

We love you Bradford - We do
Review of Bradford by
killip
Advantages: Great skill level, brilliant team
Disadvantages: No competition except Wigan and SH, so most games are boring
...Whereas no-one normally has a good thing to say about Bradford (the city) you can be sure when you mention the Bulls you'll get a smile. Bradford Bulls is one of the great things Bradford boasts and is one of, if not THE best team in England. We have brilliant pre-match entertainment including the lovely Bullettes (cheerleaders) who refused to sign my Bulls shirt at the open day (I wasn't drunk when I asked them - honest), Bullman and Bullboy (the mascots) and they normally have a band on with some pretty decent tunes being played.
One of the problems at the moment is that we're never actually at "home" as the famous Odsal Stadium, with the world record for match attendance at a) any rugby league game and b) any super league game, where we used to play, is having building work done on it (and about time to be fair) so we...
