Bradford City - Not so shitty
Review of Bradford City by
killip
Advantages: Big Div 1 side
Disadvantages: Only a small premiership side
...I am most proud to say that I support Bradford City Football Club. Not only because, as a Bradfordian, it is my moral obligation to support my home team, but also I feel that the team deserves success and does not deserve other Bradfordians snubbing them and refusing to support them because they are "crap". These people are not true Bradfordians and any Bradfordian who supports Leeds Utd wants shooting.
Bradford City AFC was the first Association Football Club in Bradford, and it started off as a rugby league club believe it or not. There used to be two rugby League clubs in Bradford - Bradford RLFC and Bradford Northern. Bradford RLFC became a football club in 1903 and was named "Manningham AFC" and later "Bradford City AFC" and after that Bradford Northern became "Bradford AFC" and later "Bradford Park Avenue AFC". Another team...

The Valley Of Hope
Review of Bradford City by
theimp
Advantages: Watch Premiership players at lower admission cost.
Disadvantages: Poorer quality opponents.
...Bradford City have finally succumb to the inevitable and relegation from the Premiership has been confirmed. Though relegation is nothing to be boast about, Bradford should take comfort from the knowledge that they defied the odds and survived for two seasons in the highest division.
During Bradford's first season in the Premiership, 1999/2000, they panicked bought a variety of players who simply were too old for the riggers of top flight football. Relegation looked a certainly yet somehow a dramatic last day of the season win over Liverpool ensured that Bradford's dream would continue into 2001.
Maybe that win over Liverpool deluded some people at the club who were forecasting a top twelve finish for 2000/2001. Realistically those players who had just survived were now a year older and even nearer to retirement, plus manager Paul...

staying up
Review of Bradford City by
Themastertaylor
Advantages: spirit
Disadvantages: poor reputation
...bradford are a lot like my own team leicester. they struggle on a relatively small budget yet consistently give any side a match. what annoys me (and probably all the bradford fans) is thast sides like leicester and bradford don't get the praise they deserve. for example - leicester - undefeatedjoint top of the league and we got a mention on football focus on saturday. 2 years ago villa were in our position and they were all you ever saw on tv. in my opinion bradford were lucky to stay up last year but deserved it. this year they aren't one of the three worst teams - if that means that they'll stay up or not i don't know -it all hangs on one mr carbone....

Doomed
Review of Bradford City by
NickyC
Advantages: Great following, some potentail
Disadvantages: Bad ground, no room fro expansion
...The 1999 / 2000 premiership season was an amazing ride for Braford City and its loyal fans. They were favourites to return to the Nationwide even before they had kicked a premiership ball. But somehow they survived, a last day victory at home against manage Paul Jewel's old club Liverpool comapined with Wimbldon winning just seven games all season saw Bradford safe by two points.
This season however will be somewhat different and i can see what is going to happen. Everything will start of well for the bantams, Carbone will stnn crowds with his skill, Petrescu will hold the back fout togheher and people will start to believe that Bradford will become a stabl premiership club. But just as it seems Bradford have turned a corner, things will start to go downhill. Carbone will loes form and start to critisize his team-mates, Petresuc...

Can They Survive
Review of Bradford City by
MattSlat
Advantages: Hard Working
Disadvantages: Not very good
...Bradford City are basically a team of old timers and first division players, but their team spirit may be enough to save them from relegation this time.
The new manager from Scotland (I forget his name) has started reasonably and has certainly lifted the team's spirits.
They have two talented but very tempremental forwards in Stan Collymore and Benito Carbone. These two will probably have a large influence on Bradford's status at the ned of the season - if they play well they have the ability to score goals and win Bradford games, but if they underperform they will have a negative effect on their team mates who earn far less, and Bradford will more then likely be relegated!
Which way will it go - I fear the latter...

Beat all the odds again Bradford
Review of Bradford City by
paulloney
Advantages: You don’t need to be the most skilful team to survive.
Disadvantages: Seeing the top teams beating teams like Bradford
...Last season Bradford city fought to their death to avoid going straight back down again with a victory on the last day at Anfield against Liverpool. Against all the odds, they survived not by playing the most attractive football that you have ever seen but by determination and team sprit.
They were criticised by the so-called football experts as “the worst team in the premier league” but they were wrong. The main football expert to criticised Bradford is Rodney Marsh who put them down every game they played in last season, but Bradford city supporters will have the last laugh tomorrow when they will be able to see Rodney marsh getting his hair shaved for charity, because of his comment he made to Bradford by saying “you are going down”. Rodney will honour his bet he made to Bradford.
Do not miss Rodney getting scalped tomorrow (26th...

Welcome to Bradford - UK`s Heroin Capital !!!!!
Review of Bradford (England) by
reallife
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Everything
...Hello , Im not going to mince my words here about bradford , west yorkshire . As most people allready know about bradford, it is one of the most ethnic-ly dense areas in the whole of the united kingdom. To the outsider it probably seems like another place that has its ups and downs ,pretty much like any large town / city.
Now this is where it gets interesting (sadly ). Bradford is dubbed ``Heroin Capital`` of the uk. Why ???
If you ever go there, you will see shitty little terraced houses, sqaulor, and deprivation on a mass scale in some of these inner city housing estates, where mostly asian families live, however what will more than likely catch your attention is the flash sports cars parked outside these houses, the lambos, the ferraris, etc. Infact Bradford has more ferraris and lambos per head than almost any uk city, excluding...

Need a Miracle
Review of Bradford City by
johnnyg4
Advantages: Good squad
Disadvantages: they are not using their good plyers the right way.
...This is for all you fans of Bradford sorry I meant fan of Bradford. Bradford City are bottom of the premier league and possibly will unfortuently go down this year. They had a miracle last year managing to stay up with the help of Southampton.
I am a fan of southampton and I have seen them only stay in the premiership by a couple of points. If Bradford go down they will so with pride.
Surprisingly Bradford have some very big name footballers in their squad, Southampton could not even sign some of them. On paper Bradford looks a strong team, they just need to get more confidence on the pitch.
The team puts in a great amount of effort and are unlucky at times(well most the time). They are also fun to watch as you dont know what will happen in the games often exciting to see them score.
As they stand they are bottom want to hear a joke...

Bradford - Doomed this time
Review of Bradford City by
flashpointz
Advantages: everyone loves an underdog, bulldog spirit
Disadvantages: too many veterans
...Were we all glad that Bradford City stayed up last season?
I was because it just proved that the litlle 'uns can compete at this level with the Megastars. Bradford's story gives hope to all those clubs in the lower divisions, just like Watford, Charlton and Barnsley did before - except Bradford stayed up.
It is amazing though if you run through their team. Plenty of old stagers in the line up. I think I remember hearing that in that final game of last season the average age of the side was 29 ?
Way too much 'experience'.
And those players really should be helping as side out of Division One - not staying in the Premiership.
New Manager Chris Hutchings may have new ideas - may bring in new players - but I just feel that Bradford have had their 'day in the sun' and come May next year they will once more be looking at Division One soccer...

Maybe they will survive
Review of Bradford City by
KingHerrod
Advantages: Effort
Disadvantages: Lack of flair
...After last seasons scrap, I thought that Bradford would be certs for relegation this season. Manager gone an ageing squad and little money to spend.
But in the close season they have made some astute signings, Hopkin and Petrescu being great and with the return to favour and form of Lee Mills they almost have a new striker.
Bradford have three good keepers and a fairly solid back line, so if they can avoid early trouble, sign a striker and strengthen the squad they could do OK. Nothing special but survival for them is key....
