Braehead-great for everything you need
Advantages: open late
Disadvantages: busy on saturday afternoons
...Braehead is situated in the middle of renfrew near hillington. Just recently opened and can boast from having hundreds of shops to suit everyones taste. The shops range from D2 to BHS and with the recent closure of C & A a new American branch - Primark plans to open by the end of this month. The shops are great for last minnute shopping. wg the evening before a night out, as the shops are open until 9 pm every week day and 6.30 pm during the week. The parking is free and there are plenty of spaces, inside and out.
There is plenty of things to keep the not so keen shoppers occupied when you are shopping, such as an ice rink and a huge food court with a mcdonalds and KFC and a nice pizza hut looking over the ice rink.
Braehead is a great shopping day out....

Xscape to everything your kids desire
Advantages: An action-packed day out
Disadvantages: Not a Cheap day out!
...*This is a long review because there is so much to cover!!!
My partner and I took my 10 year old stepson and a friend to Xscape on Sunday as part of his birthday present. I had visited their website (www.xscape.co.uk) and was impressed by the facilities, particularly the climbing wall which the boys were most eager to try.
Brief Background
PY Gerbeau, the man who helped fix Euro Disney and made the Millenium Dome into a successful paying visitors attraction became Chief Executive of X-Leisure in 2001. With 20 years experience in the leisure/retail and attraction industry he was well placed to make the dream of Xscape a reality.
Xscape Braehead opened only a couple of months ago following the success of other facilities in Milton Keynes and Castleford, Leeds. (together the Leeds and Milton Keynes centres can boast over 30...

Braehead Shopping Centre and Retail Park
=
I live about 20 miles or so from this huge indoor shopping centre. I done most of my Christmas shopping here and it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Braehead first opened its doors to the public in 1999. It also cost approximately £285 million to build! It is the largest privately funded waterside regeneration project in the country!
There is over 1 million square feet of shopping and leisure facilities and there are more plans for the near future to build over 2000 new homes, a riverside park, new offices, and another 470,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space!

Shopping in the 21st century, officially slightly annoying
Advantages: Convienient place for food and goods shopping
Disadvantages: All that damn marketing
...Braehead Shopping Centre lies in an old industrial area on the banks of the Clyde. Once a shipping yard, the collapse of Clydeside industry made this piece of land between Renfrew and Glasgow worthless. Until now that is. Braehead offers a Warner Brothers shop, Tiny (terrible) computer showroom, a Games Workshop, photography shops, clothes stores and more. It's a coninient place to shop. That being said, it's a shoppong mall. Expect to be thouroughly annoyed if you are one of those people like me who hate the whole American shopping concept.
The original plan for Braehead was much larger in scale, and included ferries to take people across the Clyde to the centre. That idea was scrapped, but there are still car parks that you may need to stock up on provisions to get across. There are underground car parks, three storey carparks...

Best Shopping Centre ever!!!!!!
Advantages: Amazing shops
Disadvantages: Aching feet from walking!
...I've visited Braehead many times now, i only live 5 mins away by car!
I remember the excitement within the city when the Shopping Centre opened, and i can understand why. Before to go shopping all the best shops where in the City Centre, now it's not as far to travel for people like myself. There is a huge Marks and Spencers and BHS, along with C&A. For other clothes shops there is Topshop/Topman, New Look, Bay Trading, Dorothy Perkins, The Vestry, Principles (for men and women), Sports Connection and that's just to name a few.
There is a huge Sainsburys and Woolworths, along with HMV, WHSmith, The Disney Store, Argos, the Discovery Store. You'll notice i've only mentioned the brand name shops, there are also smaller named shops, which are just as good.
Obviously there are food courts. There are 2 ice rinks, one for skating...

Everything you need under one roof
Advantages: Everything you need under one roof, lots of parking(disabled spaces also)
Disadvantages: trying to decide which shops for you! :-)
...Having a fiance who stays only 5 miles down the road from this shopping centre is fantastic. Its not like your typical shopping centre where parking is limited or in most cases non existant. The best part about the parking is that it is FREE all day everyday!.
Braehead is based on the outskirts of Glasgow between the Govan area and Renfrew for those who are unsure of its location.
The shopping centre itself boasts most of the high street shops such as Marks and Spencer, Boots, WH Smith, Woolworths, Sainsbury's and many more but to name a few and the centre is open late some evenings aswell(some shops within may vary closing time)
The shopping centre also has a food court located upstairs and if memory serves I believe there is a downstairs also. The food hall contains fast food places such as McDonalds, KFC, Pizza hut...

The mall with it all!
Advantages: it's got the lot and more!
Disadvantages: the car parks and roundabouts, aarrrggghhhh!!!
...There are many resaons why Braehead is a firm favourite in our household. In fact it's a miracle that a shopping centre in in favour at all when it comes to my boyfriend but he doesn't put up much of a fight when it comes to a trip to Braehead (no fight would be a miracle!). That's the first thing that appeals about the place - it's so laid back it's no trouble at all. You're more or less guaranteed a car parking space as there are plenty of car parks at Braehead. I've been at some really busy times and have always found a space with ease. The way the car parks are situated around the building too means that when you get out of the car in the rain you're only a quick dash to one of the many doors to Braehead shopping centre. And the parking's free - bonus!!!
When you're inside it's quite pleasant. The air conditioning keeps...

SHOP TILL YOU DROP!!!!!!!
Advantages: Get all your Christmas Shopping in one mall
Disadvantages: No car park attendants to ensure noone parks in disabled spaces unless they have a disabled badge
...I live just 10 miles from Braehead and have been a regular there ever since it opened. Lost count of the number of times I've popped in for one thing and been there all day. Thank goodness for plastic!!!!
No matter what your looking for, you'll find it here. Shops include Ravel, Barrets, Dune, BHS, M&S, Argos, HMV, Waterstones, Woolworths, WH Smith, Evans, Dorothy Perkins, Monsoon, Topshop and Principles to name just a few! But possibly the best of them all for kids at heart like me is The Bear Factory.
As well as the shops there is loads of places for eating or going for a coffee when your feet get tired, which will definately happen if your a shopaholic. Try Fat Jackets, their baked potatoes are to die for. There is also a large food hall newly opened although I havent yet sampled it.
I just went there to buy a pair...

Ikea - bargains bargains bargains
Advantages: Cheap, good quality, lots of choice
Disadvantages: So popular everyone will eventually own the same furniture!
...I think Ikea is the best home store in the world! Good news for those of you in central Scotland - Ikea has planning permission to build another mega store at Braehead in Glasgow.
I recently made the 200 mile round trip to their Edinburgh store and it was worth the petrol. There are many bargains to be had: 12 Glasses for £2, vases and pots from £1, cushions from £3 and a great selection of sturdy kids toys too. Everyone will find something they like in Ikea.
Tips - arrive early, wear comfortable shoes, know your room dimensions and take samples of fabric with you to find matches! And definately figure out your budget before hand :o)...

Dont Shop for it - Argos wont replace it
Advantages: Generally big range of stock, competative, stores everywhere
Disadvantages: Poor after-sales service
...Argos - we all know them, most of us use them. But what about when things go wrong with your purchase? I was recently very unpleasantly surprised, imagining a no-quibble replacement
The product in question was a very nifty Sony-Ericsson W810i mobile phone. It worked fine for just under 3 months then the screen went blank and all efforts to revive it failed. And just before Xmas when I expecting to use it heavily
This is obviously a very popular and competatively priced phone, because when I searched our local Argoses (luckily I live in a city and there are several) , only one had one in stock. So I quickly did a 'click and reserve' online and made the 5 mile odd trip to swap the phone over. Or so I thought
The store (Braehead, Glasgow) was fairly chaotic. The service desk had a paper sign saying 'closed' and go to the main queue...
